battlecaster (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

seriously though, as long as the kevlar has good damage mitigation and low compromise it's fairly good

Er...Have a question about mitigations equipments.

What's the top base value of each mitigation equipment?

I've got these Spirit-Ward/Thrice-Blessed:

Cap: Base 20
Robe: Base 22
Glove: Base 16
Pants: Base 20
Shoes: Base 14

What's the top base value of each position? Then I can know which equip I can sell to bazzar, and which I should pick from bazzar.
Thanks.

BTW: Seems base value of shielding arua is very low, right? That means they are useless at all?

The first thing you should do when asking for help is to write coherent sentences.
Wear elementalist for now.

So I'm fairly new to the whole hentaiverse game and I had a few questions. I'm sure these have been answered before, but I hope people are still willing to help out, or at least newb-link me to where I can find out.

1. I've been reading that, as a caster, I want a mix between heavy and cloth armor. I'm guessing battlecaster and elementalist items would be my best bet?

2. What kind of staff should I use? Or should I be using another type of melee weapon for now until I get enough ability and stat points to properly use magic?

3. What magics should I invest in early? I already have my first level into a green aura so I can take on the grindfest at cake level relatively safely. Should I save up ability points?

4. Is Item World the better way to go when leveling?

and finally:

5. What should I save my credits up for at the start?

Thanks everyone for your advice if it's given, I'm looking forward to learning so I can pay it forward a little later. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

bewilder is , because it reduces damage from magic attacks and prevent critical hits from bosses or stronger monsters

The other 2 spells are pretty useless

If you can affored battlecaster set, they are best. But I only have 1 battlecaster dragonhide pick from bazzar. I don't know who have the full battlecaster kavler set... It should worth several millions. Only dragonhide/kevlar have the battlecaster version. And only phase have the EDB version, they worth several thouands of credits.

So, pick some cheap elmentalist, or fox. If you can't, pick some owl.
I'll open a full cloth auction for newbies soon...

of Focus. no other choice for your level.

Fire + Elec. This is the basic mage combo for 0.5.0. They add Holy/Soul when you get them.

Yes. Level up and get more arena every day.

5. What should I save my credits up for at the start?

For training, of course... invest them on drop rates.

Before I answer your question...
I'd really suggest melee at this point. Magic requires a huge investment of AP, and you just don't have enough at your level. But I'll answer your questions assuming you want to go magic anyways, but don't say I didn't warn you.

1) As a caster, especially a low level one, you real only choice is cloth. Aim for gossamer elementalist cloth, but if you can't get a full set yet, just wear silk for now. Don't wear light or heavy armor, because they come with interference which immediately reduces your damage potential. Battlecaster stuff do have lower interference but they are both rare and expensive.

2) If you're vehement in staying as a caster, a focus staff would do the best for you. Preferably something that gives at least +50% magic accuracy. Else, if you do pick melee, either dual wield with a rapier and a nice off-hand weapon, like a high-parry dagger or high-bleed axe, or go for a high-bleed two-hander.

3) As a mage, you'll want to your AoEs as soon as possible. Get their elemental rating boosts to further boost damage, and try to do that for at least two different elements. Fire and elec are the most popular, as most enemies are weak to one or the other. You'll also want as many mana tanks as possible to further increase how long you can keep throwing out your AoEs.

4) Itemworlds make up most of your grinding (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) You'll notice exp is based on both the difficulty you're in and the quality of the item you're entering.

5) I'd say save up for eq first, though you might sometimes get lucky with people throwing freebies at you. Once you figure out what eq you need, try making a WTB thread, and maybe people will sell you stuff cheaply. Otherwise, just save up for trainings. Exp boosts and ability boosts are both great and always useful, scavenger lets you find more potions, which prolongs your stays while grinding, etc.

edit: Oh my, I got ninja'd by vean, I do believe. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

battlecaster is quite overrated unless it has high mdm and if you have a high light armour proficiency, something that you won't get that much if you are going to full mage who uses cloth armour

They are VERY expansive, anyway...
So everyone wants them (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

If a battlecaster can provide 8-10% MDM, it will defeat almost every cloth. A top level destruction staff can only provide 55-60MDM@300...
Ok, IF. I can't have them unless snowflake bride me. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

There really is no comparison to EDB gear. This I've tested extensively and even mediocre EDB gear is considerably better than MDM stuff. With the tradeoff of being limited to the one element of course.

On the other hand, since Soul doesn't have EDB gear, it's more reasonable to use Battlecaster stuff vs Fox/Demon-Fiend. My testing, with Staffs since my Light prof was too terrible, showed it was worse. Hito seems to get the opposite result. No idea if somehow the MDM from armor is factored in differently vs the MDM from staffs.
