A rapier of nimble (for SG) and shortsword of slaughter (for non SG) rotation is also good on low budget

Though for forging, rapier of slaughter still comes up on top due to its versatility. Axe needs a good forged shield, or shielding plate armor piece to work

The only style that can benefit from power of balance is DW. 1H doesn't benefit from accuracy or crit as much as defense or ADB

I actually wonder how much PMI/MMI is needed for DW+Power to work in PFUDOR Arenas...

And the experiment was a failure. Managed to (barely) finish, but the increased slowness allied to bad ADB (mostly due to low proficiency and my stats being mage-oriented for so long) means I'm not gonna try this again unless I find a good Battlecaster rapier.

You should either go full mage or full melee.

These are my stats, and proficiencies and equipment, I am a wind mage generally, and I'm starting to try out Nintendo mode, and can do hell mode easily enough up to the trio and the tree. Is there anything I'm doing wrong? Are my stats low for my level? Is there anything I could do to level faster? I know I should get magnificent gloves of freyr, but I can't seem to find them or afford them

not a mage but i'll offer what i can:

for starters, using 2 wakis really takes away from the amount of damage you could be getting with a good temestuous redwood/willow staff of freyr/destruction. you might get hit more and pay more for spells, but you'll also deal alot more damage. use the magic scores script to see for yourself the amount of damage you're missing out on

your stats are fine as is, but you can take some points out of STR and put them into END or AGI to feel a bit less squishy if you want. past level 300 stat distribution doesn't matter that much AFAIK.

as long as all your phase stuff has ~exmax EDB i wouldn't bother upgrading any of it yet. if you still want to make sure they have at ~mmax EDB and good evade

to level up faster start doing RE on highest difficulty you can and make sure adept learner is ~150.

mmax EDB and mmax evade? i'd say its worth getting if you can afford it. sure, the wis and int rolls are shit but it's not like the ones on yours are much better
ask esotericsatire for his opinion if you still can't decide since he's about the only high level elec mage i know of

Get a "tempestous" staff of "freyr/destruction" instead of DWing wakis. As for your phase armaments, no equip links, no comment, but I prefer those with 3 PABs. Funny you can afford a pair of waki and four phase equips but can't afford a mag glove...

Your prof is higher than when I was at your level really, except for staff and depreciating prof. And you'll REALLY NEED IT! so here's the proficiency tracker to assist your effort.

Slot in the fastest Weaken you have and spam weaken till you get imperil than get fastest Imperil. Then get SP tank and Spirit Shield and Spark of Life, Ability Boost at least 100 and maybe IA3 if you could help it. Personally I slot in Mind Control ability to use Sleep: their main charm is when the enemies are asleep, they can't evade or resist other depreciating spells, it's waaay better than Magnet at my current level imo.

Dunno it depends on the seller, it could go anywhere from 40k to 500k really, the latter is usually reserved for ethereal rapiers or hollowforged elemental rapiers.

If you are a mage and have to budget for an upgrade you are going to have a bad time.


The stats on the Mag robe are pretty good, its at the borderline for something you could do a tiny bit of forging like 3-5 phazon. If it had a decent prefix like charged, or frugal, radiant I'd pull the trigger. Sometimes mjolnir mag pieces like that can go for cheap now 100-300k but in the past the cost could go out to 2m (without a good prefix I wouldn't see that occurring these days.) Mjolnir's main advantage is its cheapness lol, so keep an idea on what you want to pay and hunt for good gears at the auctions.

If you can get it for less than 200k then its very worthwhile, if it goes above 300k you might have to make a decision in regards to your budget and how much you want it.

As a guide I used this piece till about 380:

I think I paid 300k for it originally. Which I thought was a fortune at the time.

To get to 380-400 you can do it with good quality magnificent armor and a good legendary staff. Once you hit 350 you can start IWing your armors at a decent speed if your gear is alright, getting Juggernaut 5 on all your gears will maintain their usefulness and at that stage getting elemental resists will help your defense. You can probably get good mag mjolnir pieces for 100-500k.

I would also recommend getting info on the other element choices before starting to commit a lot to mjolnir.

Once you have all decent magnificent gear (preferably mmax edb and evade, and a good prefix if possible, three pabs okay intelligence and wisdom) I'd look to getting a legendary shocking [redwood/willow] staff of destruction (price estimate 8-15m). You can get an okay magnificent shocking redwood of destruction for 50-200k but if its a good legendary staff, good edb, good mdb, good proficiency, good pabs, then you can throw loads of bindings at it.

Is this worth selling or should I salvage it? Gossamer doesn't drop anymore and the page for Clothing ranges doesn't have the ones for gossamer so I can't judge it from ranges. And I haven't been playing for a while.

Seeing how most attacks that proc my Spirit Shield are Void and some Piercing/Crushing from gc's army (Light sometimes but not so often since Celestial get taken down fairly quick) I'd say an increase in HP is much better than having elemental mitigation that are quite useless against these attacks. So I'd agree with having free mitigation is better for getting that crucial Juggernaut. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/mellow.gif)
