your welcome, come back anytime when you are planning to transition to mage... and frm here the real fun begins.

Yeah, I doubt that's going to be happening for a while - as previous posts suggested, I shouldn't make the transition until Level 80+, which won't be for a while.

In any case, Weaken's now filled (Hooray excess Ability Points from Training!), WIS is 25, and all other stats but INT are at at least 30 points. Working now to get them all up to my current level (32-33), then plugging some more into END before I go to DEX and AGI.

I know someone else suggested using Heavy Armor until 40-50, but right now the burden is just a little too much to take on with my current action speed (30.4 burden with 110 Action speed, effectively canceling each other out and then some). I'll make sure to keep all of this in mind though.

you should go for melee, your stats are fine

you should get some heavy armor till level 40-50, then switching to dragonhide/kevlar because you will use more spells and you will need a lower interference

get weapons with balance suffix

do not go maging before level 80

You can start maging with level 50 where it start to shine to be mage but you need some preparation like get elemental equipment and some magic montage. I could defeat all Ring of Blood Bosses with max 1 Lesser Mana Potion.

QUOTE(tribalspirit @ Feb 8 2011, 17:29) *

i have some doubts

i'm wondering how to spend my ap and aura points

auras: already maxed indigo and yellow, i have green, red and orange.. i just can't decide between violet and blue
should i go for more damage and soul rating (violet) or getting the blue for more mana and better defence from spells ?

in this decision enter even my next spells choice: soul or dark? soul are less expensive than dark and can be improved through violet aura, but dark will give me some extra mit against FSM

so what you think?

I do intend to Magic Montage during times when I'm not immediately available (sleeping, for instance), but most of the Curative/Shielding prof will come from regular use.

Elemental equipment might have to wait depending on m Training/Artifact frequency and habits. Hath is really my only main way of getting credits right now, but I'm now out of it, and down to 5.8k Credits, so it won't be very long before I'm fresh out of money. D:

EDIT: Just turned in the Small Nuke I picked up, got Bubblegum x2 in response. Not bad, but not Hath.

If Elemental Equipment ist to expensive, Fox Equipment is very cheap and increase Magic Rating. Another thing is it to increase Staff Proficiency (Coalesced Mana & Channeling) and Cloth Proficiency (better stats of clothing for more damage) but that is not that important as a high Elemental Proficiency.

I'll keep on the lookout for Fox equipment if/when the time comes, assuming it pops into the Bazaar from time to time. Cloth proficiency is being taken care of, as I have a Fair Silk Cap of the Racoon that I'm wearing all the time.

Staff Proficiency and Elemental Proficiency might have to merely be a switch-off on which is trained via Montage when I'm not doing anything else for the day; my DW stat is too dependent for me to switch over for regular training, and as long as I'm tanking I have no need to put AP into magic spells. Thankfully, I had used a Fire spell ONCE before my first AP reset, so because there's some points in Elem. Prof. It will be included with Curative, Supportive, and Depreciative during Elemental Montages.

Will do.

NEW QUESTION:

What are your guys' Grindfest methods, at least what you remember from your lower levels? Was it a straight-up training thing like I assume many people do with Item World, or do you play on easier difficulties and aim to mass-collect items for later runs? If so, which difficulty?

My main EXP amount comes from Item World excursions, but on Grindfest it always feels like I'm eating up pots and Credits for the 9-13 rounds I get out of Normal Mode, or 8-10 rounds for Hard if I'm lucky. I've Trained Scavenger up to 5 to try and increase my item rates, but still...

(IMG:[i.imgur.com] http://i.imgur.com/kjgiB.png)

I'm at a bit of a standoff.

I just can't seem to clear anything lately; I'm getting stuck on the L.12 Arena fights (and can't beat the L.30 one at all, even burning through all my items), barely making it halfway through a long Item World, and just generally not having a very good time with anything. Money's always tight, and I can never seem to get my equipment upgraded. I have a store, but because I'm such a low level I really can't find anything neat to sell.

And to that extent, I really don't know what direction I should be taking my upgrades in. Should I scrap the cloth armor and try to get a full suit o' Heavy Plate? Or should I start the transition on over to being a mage? I've heard that I should be waiting 15 or so more levels, but I honestly don't know where I'll find the patience to get that far.

Any advice or direction would be helpful. My current strategy for levelling has just been to take an awful piece of equipment into an Item World on Cake difficulty, get as far as I can, and rinse/repeat. Boring, but it seems to be the only way I can get things done.

Thanks. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/blush.gif)

Regardless of whether or not you clear the Item World isn't really as important as just being able to slog through levels as much as you can. For example, I have a level 230 Rapier I don't plan on raising anytime soon (mainly because I have no HOPE of doing so at my level), but even though I can't pass it, the stats I get from it are nice enough I can get through and finish lower level (Read: Crude or Fair) items on Normal or Hard difficulty. Generally, if it's 14-19 levels, I do Hard. 20-25, Normal, and Easy for anything else. Even if I don't pass it, the EXP gain is really nice. It doesn't MATTER if I pass half the time anyway, since the equipment being trained in isn't equipment I use, but stuff I picked up that helps fill the 10 Entrances a day.

You're in luck with this - check this page of posts, and the last page too. I basically got a rundown on what I should be doing with my stats, when to merge over to maging, and what equipment to look for. Some people said go for Heavy Armor, but I'm working on raising the Prof. of my Cloth and Light at the moment. I'd post all the info they gave, but it's so voluminous you're better off just checking this page and the last one for my posts and their responses. Trust me though; you'll be able to relate to it very closely.

I'm still waiting on responses to my post above yours, but in the meantime I'm just grinding on Easy or Normal in Grindfest with Lesser Potions (65 Credits per go if I have to buy 5); I make more than enough credits to repay what I spent on the Lesser Potions, and I let my +10 Scavenger ability work towards picking up better pots I can use later on for the Item World/Arena.

Hope that helps.

EDIT:

Regarding the case of Equipment vs. Burden, it's EXTREMELY IMPORTANT to know that Burden's penalty is only HALF of what you have over 20, NOT 1 Point per. As said in this thead: https://forums.e-hentai.org/index.php?showt...mp;#entry747114

"The most significant discovery was how Burden works. It turns out the time penalty from Burden is applied equally to every action. It isn't affected by the action time multiplier, nor is it reduced by X-Attack ar Haste. The only case where it doesn't apply is when using a Powerup Gem, which takes zero time (you may remember Tenboro had to tweak it to specifically exclude the penalty for this). It's not all bad news, though: after disregarding the first 20 points of Burden, the penalty is equal to only half of the remainder."

This means that if base Action Speed is 100, and you have 110 from AGI increases or whatever else, you can take on up to 40 Burden and still not fall below 100 base (since the extra 20 would only = -10 Action Speed). I've tested this out myself with a combination of a Cloth hat, Leather Feet, and Heavy Leggings that totaled 41.3 Burden, and it's shown no negative affects against my 110 Action Speed; rather, I haven't experienced monsters moving twice in one turn, nor have I experienced the acting gauge changing dramatically, if at all.

I'm not really higher level than you, but I recently looked at how far I could go in grindfests and how much XP/C they got me. Personally cakefest ist best for me, since I usually got to round 60-70 w/o using any potions or scrolls (half an hour). While easy or normal got me XP a bit faster, the amount of credits I spent at the healer compared with the credits I made was far higher.
After all, for XP you'd do an item world and since grindfests are good for credits, I'd go for cake.

Just write down your XP tnl and credits before and after a fight session and see for yourself what gets you the best results.

Btw, why are the monsters in item worlds so much easier than those in grindfests?

Monster difficulty in Item Worlds are based on the Quality of the item on an exponential meter. Thus, Monsters in a Crude or Fair piece of equipment will be MUCH easier than monsters on a Fine or Superior piece, for instance. Even though you're doing a world on Hard, for example, the Equipment quality might be such that the monsters are at .50x their normal stats, so in actuality you're only facing them on 1x difficulty.

On the other hand, grindfests plant monsters at 50% of their damage potential, but they retain all their base stats (Defense, HP, etc) otherwise. If you did Hard Mode Grindfest, the 2x would fully apply (2x HP base and all other stats).

Does that make sense?

As it stands, and from what I know/have learned so far, there's no evidence to suggest that is true at all. The only known ways of increasing EXP gain are from EXP Boost Abilities, training in Adept Learner, or Hath Perks (outside of ones activated from Auras).

However, it HAS been linked that your Forum power factors into the size of your Spirit Bar, I believe a rate of 1/7th if I recall correctly. However, no such link to EXP gain, at least in a cumulative sense.

EDIT: See post below. I have learnded moar!

Yup, makes sense.
I'm just curious about numbers since fair items on easy have much weaker monsters than cakefests.

Until you start maging, I wouldn't really bother with grindfest. As you already noted, difficulty in grindfest raises much higher, and the damage you take when you're melee just isn't worth it. At this point in time for you, exp is far more important than credits, so your main income should be daily arena clears and the rest of the time should be spent in IW.

Wear with heavy armor, as high absorption possible, a good two-handed bleeder, easy difficulty, high level crude item, and gain as much exp as possible. Then once you reach a good level, switch to a mage build.
