If you wanna to take down all bosses easily by melee style.

Dual Club (20+ Chance to Stun/2 turns+) + Haste Yourself and cast slow and Posion spells to Bosses. (Curse-Weaver set is more effective)

Bosses? Use a rapier, wait of PA, cast Spirit attack, they will lose 1/2 to 3/4 of HP in one turn.

PA does not affect with spirit attack right now.! My precious rapier become to junk weapon at this time. I fought IPU just now, simply to back up my own statement.

However, I still think that DW using 2 good standard (no Eth needed) Rapiers + Infusions + 1-3 Soul Stone + Slow + Haste + Silence is still the best plan against all the Gods even if you're mage (Though against RL, Weaken+Spark route seem better), provide that your stats were not too "unbalanced".

And yes, it still work. (for FSM too I believe)

Works because shield rating is still reduced, but since spirit attack is between attack+magic vs shield+barrier ratings, it's reduced, and I did one stronger hit without PA...

TBH I don't really remember how much damage my spirit atk usually would do.. But I know that this is higher than just went straight SP, so it seem to work for me. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

I bet. The other bosses besides Manbearpig are pretty simple.

Dunno why, but for me Manbearpig is the easiest amongst first 4 bosses. Maybe because I'm fire mage, but even with these 15+ fire migration (I don't wear any special set for fire absorption or use infusion to him) he's less challenging for me than White Bunneh.

PA don't reduce barrier rating anymore, so the rapier "lost" advantage.

What does focus do besides get me killed?

less chance that your next spell get's to get resisted

edit: also less chance that your spell fails due to interference

The plan should still work even if for mage. I assume that even if they using Infusions to melee and only can do half of the damage I did when using infusions, they can still bring him down easily with only that amount of damage output, because that what I did using no infusions.

What does focus do besides get me killed?

Just read the tooltip or the wiki:

Focus: Increases your chance of landing a spell on the following turn (+50% hit chance, -25 effective interference), but reduces your evade, block, and parry chances to 0% for the current turn. Hotkey is 'F'.

So the spell you need to cast next turn better be damn important as focus is worse than doing nothing for a turn.

Edit: It's useful when you've finally managed to proc Ether Theft on a monster and would you like to stall your battle ending attack for one turn to regain more mana.

I usually use defend because when I use focus, that turn cost me 500+ dmg (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

the only time that i can think of using it when you are using heavy and you want a certain spell casted without fail, otherwise using focus will very likely lose you lot's of health

focus still can fail given enough interference...one thing that's certain, you'll get hit, hard

Does Auto-cast slot good for mage? Now I have about 50 haths but don't which one I should exchange for.
