What is the best way to buy items? I found some okay stuff in the in universe store, and I've item worlded a little bit to upgrade them, but what are the hallmarks of a good item, besides Superior or better quality? Where's the best place to grind them?

better gear(read: not another estoc or more leather. consider a mace) and more adept learner. everything else can wait

Go to the flea market WTS thread, they mostly sells exquisite grade weapons. Too many the best equips falls under auctions though. As for getting good equips in HV itself, train the Quartermaster and Luck of the Draw.

Not sufficient for buying these "Magikarp armors" that all those melee fanatics are gay for Heathcliff for. Power slaughter armor sets, I mean.

0 chaos upgrade is not worth even for higher PL, especially Scavenging upgrade.
And generally frequent win/kill requires Fortitude.
Some more upgrades like Swiftness and Brutality also deserve consideration.

And unless you can at least do PFUDOR RE with leather, dont change to power.

since you two basically asked the same thing, you should go check out the Free Shop. though, be sure to read the rules first or Piyin will "literally" hunt you down & choke the shit out of you.

imo, you can get a 1H-power set for 200k. though, you'll hv to shop around in WTS sections. generally, stay away from big auctions, because most things cost 50+k to 200+k. decent Exq power protection/balance/warding can be brought for 20-50k/piece. Rapier & Shield might be a bit more expensive, but there's still pretty decent stuff for 20-50k/piece.

I just realise that maintaining an army of 500PL monsters is very expensive on chaos, and I only use chaos on scavenging.

so, got a quick question. say if i've got ~3 million credits lying around. should i get:

1. more lvl of Lotd (~3.1 mil)
2. get VV for 250Haths (~2.25 mil)
3. hv a bunch of PL500 monster or another PL750 monster or a combination of those 2.
4. IA3, but i really don't know what to put in it.
5. bank it for now to prepare for soon™
6. also, open up for other suggestions.

it might take them a few days to response. just be patient. they're all thankless volunteers that hv busy lives too. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

2H doesn't hv that high of a parry%. also, 0% block & probably lower evade when you're not using ethereal weapon. so Stun is safe, because you don't hv to dodge/block/parry stunned enemies. on the other hand, 1H has decent block+parry (maybe even evade/resist if you use shade), so Rapier (or shortsword/axe) is still viable.

imo, get the best force shield, you think you can afford. Block% > good 3PAB > suffix/prefix.

1H already has a chance to stun on counter-attack. It's good with 2H because you can proc multiple monsters with domino strike.

I like bucklers because they have lower burden/interference, but that's just my personal preference.

More win/kill = get gifts more frequently. I guess there's no effect on quality.
I don't know the exact cap per day. Maybe gc knows it (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
My PL 800~900 monsters bring 6~12 per day, while my friend's PL 1500+ brings 12~15 per day.

2H has absolutely no Block (unless you're using shielding plates) nor any Parry bonus (DW has 50% boost to its offhand's parry) until you reach Lv. 250 which even then your parry is still shitty cuz the parry ability bonus is very very very petty.

That's why people go for Mace for mass-stun and get some Power Slaughter gears to pump their AD. PA is good at high difficulty so there are still some players using Estoc, though, with Shades rather than Power to increase survivability as it has no stun proc.

Well of course, T2 and T3 of 2H skills have stun and PA respectively but the duration lasts way too short to be efficient so without very OP setup 2H is generally very inefficient, note, at high difficulty.

I don't know about weapons other than Axe and Rapier for 1H, you may have to ask others for that.

For Axe, it has the highest WD of all 1H weapons so people generally would go for it. Bleeding Wound proc. isn't so effective but high WD alone makes Axe shines a little. T3 skill deals more damage to a Bleeding Wounded mob too if I'm not mistaken.

For Rapier, it has Parry, through which you can proc. your counter attack other than Block and more importantly the PA weapon proc which is very efficient on high difficulty.

If you are looking for some starter Power gears with 3PABs, feel free to visit my shop. Not the cheapest, but I'd say they're quite cheap. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/duck.gif)

And yes, I just picked up this Exquisite Force Shield of Warding yesterday and I felt like selling it to bazaar since it has low Block roll. If you want you can have it for 20k (close to the standard price for HG wood) if that's not too expensive for you.

2. will make all your hellfest and PFUDOR run longer(ie. more round) and faster, also good with all play styles.
3. 3m wont be enough, and even if you have enough, monsters wont be profitable until a very long term (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif)
4. put SV or Protection on it for easier facerolling, but not as good as 2
5. worst option, you could possibly continue to wait for the next 6 months (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)
6. save to 10m and get a really good weapon
so 2 (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

ie. Spirit Shield less likely to proc & if it procs it'll consume "slightly" less SP due to hving 25% more HP. though, i'd imagine i won't gain more HP recovery from cure/regen.

Nah your cure and regen wont get stronger, but your full cure will become really good. You will spam cure less often => save MP, faster clear. And as you said, you will save tons of Spirit.

Oh I forgot to mention this, if you plan to play GF a lot, you should get crys1, its better than LoTD

Can you do PFUDOR DwD using wind without needing to ET/Focus though? I'm curious if an elemental mage can ever get to the point where that's possible. I can do the first two schoolgirl marathons on PFUDOR without needing to ET/Focus, but if I try that on DwD I'll run out of potions.
