QUOTE(kos9494 @ May 6 2014, 19:39) I don't quite understand how the speed from AGI is capped. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) You sarcastic scorpion. Any AGI above your level (or something like that) gives bonus speed It's capped at 10%

QUOTE(kos9494 @ May 6 2014, 19:39) Sure you might feel that mage sucks dicks at our levels now but who knows once you go over 300 or something you run anything twice the speed of the melee me.
IT'S LIKE GETTING YOUR POTENTIAL UNLOCKED AND TURNING INTO ULTIMATE GOHAN LOSTLOGIA4 Uh, I'm just a humble acolyte who happen to be here when you did... there are plenty of clearers here amongst the Mage Association. many of them are "gay for Archer Archmage" and are more than happy to shell out briefcases full of money just for the Sage's equipment. Pretty much most of the clearer-grade melee fighters are gay for Heathcliff instead.QUOTE(kos9494 @ May 6 2014, 19:39) You sarcastic scorpion. Sarcasm is his middle name. Those gay people sure have it great, I probably can't even afford that briefcase that's probably made of fine Corinthian leather. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/anime_cry.gif)

Sure you might feel that mage sucks dicks at our levels now but who knows once you go over 400 lvl + have madly forged gear worth about 9 digits you run anything twice the speed of the melee me. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/anime_cry.gif) Yep, Even I found myself hard pressed to meet my maging ends meet really... Speaking of briefcase... I do have them... three of them, in fact. That's back when I have wads of haths though... and now these briefcases are devoid of money. Also, iirc, a fully-forged hallowed mage set costs about 450 Megacredits just for the forging alone. I know, because I did the math. To counter treesloth's sarcasm no less. Even animeai falls into "lacrima" state in the wake of the cold figures. This post has been edited by LostLogia4: May 6 2014, 14:20

QUOTE(LOL50015 @ May 6 2014, 19:12) Honestly I would be happier if TenB would balance the game more rather than getting funny ideas about "rapair cost" over his head.
Colman says it best. QUOTE(Colman @ May 4 2014, 19:08) No point to discuss the repair cost now. Soon by 10B mostly means 1+ years, if he still remember and haven't change his mind by that time. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

As a mid level player , I found mage is just too much better than melee . Even if I just use an unforged holy set without prefix . With the same amoumt of time ,the clear speed for holy mage is around threefold . I think the different will only be widen when my level higher .
1h is good , because it is the only style that allow multi tasking . DW and 2H are just too bad . They have poor attack and poor defense .
The market do not lie , see the asking price of crystal phantom and you will know .
The slaughter binding can forge a double amount but the price cannot be double .
The main problem is because mage's damage grow with both mdb and edb ,which make it E(lv^2). While melee is E(lv). But both monster hp /pmi grow with lv so that melee damage cannot keep up .
Hope 10b can do something about that . I think either make melee also have E(lv^2) or make mage have E(lv) damage . Otherwise only mage will remain at high level zone .

If there's a "mid level player" here, it would be me. I'm just an acolyte, yeah, but you're within the "clearer group" range from my perspective really...

Was that before or after the resist mechanics changes. You can't even guarantee 1 shotting every monster even on normal anymore.

QUOTE(kos9494 @ May 6 2014, 20:32) Since many people are playing 1H, I might try playing it (no harm trying a new style right?). Bought a new not-so-bad shield, using Colman's Axe (C'mon, untrack the axe already you (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) ) with my Shades set and-.... ...4.0 1H prof. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/blush.gif) Let's hope my curiosity won't get me pawned. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) That's a really damn good shield, matching the block chance of my forged shield, in fact... QUOTE(boulay @ May 6 2014, 20:29) What kind of game? I'm near 310, still don't feel the difference... (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) The Mark of the Magi, of course. You'll know it when you get the "Transition" Ability. And that's only the requirement ticket, so to speak. This post has been edited by LostLogia4: May 6 2014, 14:36

In the older version, mage damage was E(lv^3) (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/cool.gif). And every magic can hit all target. No cool down. Dark have rank 4 magic (other only have up to 3 besides soul magic). Everything can be one/two shoted. So I was mage by that time. It is ease to reach 1000+ crystalfest (where only crystal will drop, which is absorbed into GF now) by mage. And most of the round only take 2-3 turns. The improvement to mage are -imperil can hit 3 target. -resisted mobs still get some damage. (keep hitting a dying monster 5 in a row and killed was common back than. Now 2H suffer the same (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/anime_cry.gif) so I salvage my estoc) They are rather good because it make mage damage more stable rather than kill or be killed. But the range limit make me switch to melee (again). This post has been edited by Colman: May 6 2014, 14:48

Oh, and IW all your phase armors of your choosing before you try it out. And if you haven't grinded'em up already, be prepared to spend some time grinding elemental/divine/forbidden prof.
