Ah, while I have peoples' attention, is there any point in retaining Fair and Crude equips? Should I just be selling them or should I be holding onto them for Item World farming?

QUOTE(Caia @ May 6 2014, 13:04) I get what you mean, but if you're thinking in the long term (and have enough constant income to back that up) then I would prefer the option that leads to more potential block. Not bothering with Peerless though since my name doesn't begin with Stony and end with Cat.
If you think in longer term, you'd be getting crys3, IA3, VV, RR, DD, etc... instead. Sell them all. You may also recycle them for (scrap) material. Exq grade are on the entry equipment level. This post has been edited by Colman: May 6 2014, 07:01

IWBTH and PFUDOR get much easier to handle at higher levels. I would say anyone (other than mage perhaps) can handle PFUDOR randoms comfortably at around 250+. You happened to pick the most difficult 2H weapon to start with, a Mace is definitely safer. I believe that you are wearing Leather, try to look for Exquisite+ gear with 4 PAB with protection suffix. That should give you enough protection to withstand the mob's onslaught then retaliate with your Mace's stun. Do not bother with Shade gear until much later when you HP tank is large enough to absorb the mob's attack because Shade might give great boost to your offence but that comes at the cost of having a sieve-like defence. I wore Leather until well past lvl 200, slowly transitioning to full Shade by about lvl 250 and I was playing at IWBTH (highest at the time) only.

QUOTE(TheRapture @ May 6 2014, 12:40) Oh boy, Nintendo is a "high difficulty"? And all of you sit here and chat about PFUDOR like it's some cakewalk... At least in my opinion. And I'm a seasoned acolyte at that. For a lowly and cowardly acolyte like me, it's normal occurrence for me to run steer clear from high difficulties like a little girl metal slime. I could only do PFUDOR RE's recently. Only the Clearer Guilds (Henjutsu Level 300+) can chat about PFUDOR like it's daily occurrence for them to fight against doombringing monsters. Not to mention, U never heard of Nintendo HARD? The difficulties after that are even more ridiculous. Battletoads? A damned hard game. IWBTH? That comes from I Wanna Be The Guy. You'll die a lot, and only the baddest of all badasses can boast that they've bested fruit, spike, and moon and defeated the Guy with their heads held high. And PFUDOR, can you ride a "only a pure virgin can see the pink fluffy unicorn?" and make it dance on rainbows for really reals? Also, like the previous Clearer said, pick a mace for your 2H weapon of choice. That'll help your survivability. A lot. This post has been edited by LostLogia4: May 6 2014, 07:22

QUOTE(Caia @ May 6 2014, 06:36) I don't think he has one, but he's looking for one and I doubt many players can say they have the ability to pay the near limitless asking price for one. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) You really know how to put things in perspective. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif) I've gathered decent gear sets for all fighting styles, but I'm way behind on my training and now I also have OFC to think about too... I picked up a MMAX shield some time ago in WTS. Check out Ckyc's and crass1's threads, they had some good MMAX shields last I looked. Congrats on the payout on that mace by the way, would've loved to see your expression after the bidding war ended. XD OFC + VV + Lotd? imo, once you can reliably do SG+TT arenas @PF, you can get some decent drops. oh, thanks. i almost shat myself while constantly pressing f5 in that thread. it somehow sold for 2.5 times more than i thought. though, i've sink everything back into Lotd & i'm poor again. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) i'll probably max out Lotd, get VV then maybe a Mmax shield if it didn't get nerfed to death by then. iirc, you've gain 13 lvls in <12hrs. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) imo, it's more important to lvl up asap (probably to 200) before actually sinking money into any gear. in the mean time try to Max out Pack Rat & get Postage Paid perk asap. You might want to look for 3PAB Mag/Leg Power of Protection/Warding, they are often cheaper than Exq Power Slaughter Pieces and can last you comfortably until you have enough to get some Mag+ Power Slaughter.

Power slaughter is like maging, they are only good after you are 300+, and have tons of credits to forge, because they scale really hard with forging, but have very weak survivability to be good for low levels. Yeah, I'm not leveling slow by any stretch, but it's still irritating to die. The risk/reward of playing on Nintendo is quite probably worth it (a single fight basically levels me?) but it's more the principle of the matter... I just maxed Pack Rat and I'll look into Hath for Postage Paid. With 9 slots, how many health and mana potions should I be slugging into battle?

As a DW + heavy armor user, I find agility incredibly lackluster. What agility does: QUOTE - Every point adds 0.5 to Physical Mitigation formula - Every 25 points raise base Evade chance by 1% - Every point above the player's level increases attack speed by (10%/level) - (DW/Niten only) Every 100 points raises Offhand Strike chance by 1% - 1 point in Endurance gives more Physical Mitigation, and bonus health to boot. - Every 25 point raise evade by 1%, but every point of burden reduces evade by 4/3%. Heavy armor, yay! - Unless you're getting maybe hundreds or thousands of points in agility above your level, the increase in attack speed is so negligible. Also hindered by burden, so whoop dee doo. - 100 whooping points, for 1%. Hah. Proficiencies and weapon accuracies contribute more to that than agility does. So question is, is there any point in heavily investing points in agility?

So question is, is there any point in heavily investing points in agility? Not for heavy armor users, of course. Cloth, phase and shade armors comes with zero burden, for them it's better to be able to evade the whole attack rather than taking it. It makes you a fragile speedster, so to speak. For mages and light armor users they usually invest on both really... This post has been edited by LostLogia4: May 6 2014, 08:37

QUOTE(holy_demon @ May 5 2014, 07:17) The SG special attacks hurt a lot. So you still need to bring them down fast enough or else they will drain half of your SP bar in a single round. And silencing all 3 of them isnt exactly mana efficient.
You don't really have a choice because they regenerate MP and SP too quickly. You need to Silence them regardless of what you're doing. I mean, Konata takes me around 10 turns to kill, and usually that's more than enough time for her to completely fill her MP and SP bars.

you don't need as much, but you still need it. AGI contributes to the PMI/MMI formula, which you'll need tons of to reliably play on PFUDOR as heavy user btw, i hope you're using power of anything-but-slaughter, otherwise..... QUOTE(something @ Mar 28 2014, 18:58) DW heavy is suicide

Wearing full set of Power slaughter have lower survivability than full phase IMO. So a shield is a must in the current version of HV.
