I personally use Storm Shield, Turbulent Air makes monsters attacks miss more often. So if you are Light Melee - it's a good choice. Maybe I'll switch to Fire Shield though, because my new estoc has a Cold Strike. This post has been edited by Evil Scorpio: May 5 2014, 18:02

I'd say elec is pretty much useless, since 1h heavy is running around with a lot of extra hit anyway thus counteracting evade. Air has the problem that misses can't be blocked (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Ice is soso imho, i can't tell if the speed difference makes a difference at all, especially since the debuff only lasts 3 turns. Fire is a flat out 10% damage reduction, so usually a pretty safe bet This post has been edited by simrock87: May 5 2014, 18:21

As a two-hander light armor, what should my stats and proficiencies look like?
The base guide says you should just have them balanced, so I've got 73 everything except int at level 74. I feel like I'm perhaps doing this wrong.
Also I switched from dual-wielding to two-handed, so my two-handed prof is only at 15 or so. Should I be farming to 50 or so for the second combo move?

On average they are all the same. All the defensive ones are multiplicative so will provide a 10% reduction on average (even the wind one as this is miss chance, not evade). Also depending on your fighting style, you will probably block/dodge/parry most attacks so it won't even proc much. For now, Str=Dex=end=agi, wis keep it around 20 lower, keep int at 1 for now (or put it at 40 lower, it doesn't really matter. As long as you keep your stats balanced, it will work. Down worry about directed farming for proficiency, it will come over time.

My evade is 8.8%, my block is 0%, and my parry is 4.9%. Presumably I'm doing something wrong?

I preferred dex and agi to str when I was a light macer

actually that would have been my second choice (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) QUOTE(TheRapture @ May 5 2014, 19:19) My evade is 8.8%, my block is 0%, and my parry is 4.9%. Presumably I'm doing something wrong?
maybe yes, maybe not. mind to post your equip? QUOTE(Owyn @ May 5 2014, 19:33) btw, who's more important - int or wis? I preferred dex and agi to str when I was a light macer
i'd say WIS, the only benefit of INT above WIS is to raise MDB slightly faster...

QUOTE(TheRapture @ May 5 2014, 19:52) WeaponHelmBodyHandsLegsYes, I don't have boots >_> imo, get a full leather set from the free shop which will work pretty nicely with estoc/longsword for now. leather provides good & cheap protection. though, you can go the other route & do a full shade which mainly focus on evade. also, maybe upgrade Superior stuff to Exq (or Mags Leather) including weapon. or you can simply buy Mag Leather gears in WTS section for 5-7k each. For melee, does INT increase the amount healed by cure/regen? If so, I might want to pump more points into it.

in terms of stats, Int is the most useless stat for Melee. it doesn't really do anything aside from giving you an extra SP for every 5 pts. however, SP is effected by Every point invested in any attribute. http://ehwiki.org/wiki/Character_Stats#Primary_AttributesThis post has been edited by malkatmp: May 5 2014, 20:15

QUOTE(kos9494 @ May 5 2014, 06:50) Not sure if any of you noticed this... ...the weapon lottery today is such a troll. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) Off-topic I've only translated one chapter of Miku's arc in Baka-tsuki. Didn't feel like continuing it cuz lazy. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) AFAIK the TLs of DAL are procrastinating due to some reasons. QUOTE(Drakewyn @ May 5 2014, 07:13) Seriously... a Slaughter Estoc with no +Str?
yet 33k tickets sold (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) QUOTE(LostLogia4 @ May 5 2014, 08:42) Side note: I'm currently raising my AP boost to 100 for 400 AP aviable at Lv300, I even freed up my DW skills for it... and barely enough to up a few abilities... Mages are always, always short of AP... (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/cry.gif) That aside, how much AP does a dedicated melee user need anyways? not sure because i have two sets and really don't want to waste credits on something that eventually will come by itself, but at my level, with only one set and Ability Boost lv40 you should be pretty good to go... btw, a few pages ago someone said how to grind magic prof with heavy armor, but i can't find it anymore...
