i'll be better off spending time doing Arenes@PF & buy crystal packs then doing a couple Hellfest, no? iirc, you get ~400 crystals/type without any Crystarium. ~800 crystals/type with Crystarium1, right?

I bet 1H is much faster and much safer than 2H for Hellfest

- 1H can keep permanent spirit stance, but 2H can't
- 1H don't need to worry about monster's parry and evade because of overwhelming strike and stun
- 1H has more natural attack power for overwhelming strike (x1.15)
- 1H can have more AD than 2H, for 1H can easily go with all power slaughters with high block and parry chance and stun of counter-attack (assuming not forging)
- 1H don't need to spam Cure than 2H. Full-Cure is even not used.
- 1H can use OFC per 3~5 rounds, and it will clear that round in 2~3 turn.
- 1H seems not to have AoE except OFC, but counter-attack does enough damage to many monsters whose HP is low on Hell difficulty.

OFC will decrease clear time on IWBTH/PFUDOR by 20~25% as you said, but it will also do on Hell by 5~10%, though.

Well, even a normal Grindfest takes me awhile... I'll see if I could do it within 3 hours. after I got Banish and Corruption... oh, which one is more important in Hellfest, Ether or Spirit Theft?

It's actually because I didn't read about weapon suffixes until you asked me this (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) So I should get slaughter? Or there's a better choice of weapon for my level? Not the best existing weapon I mean, but the one which would be fairly easy to attain..?

yes, i'd definitely go for slaughter if i were you. plus, you should be at the level in which a mace or an estoc may do the trick in the long run...

And now I have test drived the Holy Sword Stance (holy rapier+force shield+heimdall phase) on PFUDOR RE's... and it looks like depending on which battle style I take, either my MP (casting Smite/Corruption) or SP (using Spirit Stance) will be taking a dip real quick.

Also, I need minimum recommended level for Hellfest, at this rate I had a feeling that I'll be defeated miserably in Hellfest...
So yeah, the war preparation is going to take a while...

I'd say the minimum level requirement for Hellfest is 330~350 lvl.
The gears do not matter except shield's block, also with some know-how, of course.
BTW I think the most important thing for Hellfest is player's tolerance to be tired for 1000 long rounds. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

i'd always imagine you can probably do an "extreme tanky™" Hellfest run @lvl300. Legendary Leather + Rapier of balance + force shield. all non-forged, but with Max IW. though, i'd imagine it might take 24hrs. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/duck.gif)

ps. maybe i'll give Hellfest another try, but 1000rds & without Crystarium sounds like it won't worth it. or is there some awesome clearance equip/credit drops towards the end of the run?

consider that i bough this breastplate for 50k at an auction, it has MMax ADB and AGI, EMax evade and some other things yet i was the only bidder...

150-180mins, depends on mob composition :/

OFC is exceptionally very useful in the later rounds, when you can just one hit clear everything instead of spamming cure to keep yourself alive

I'm doing IWBTHfest nowadays. After 500 rounds (in 2h), the gold + equips drops is actually pretty good (and I'm not even counting crystal drop). And I don't think Hellfest is worth it if you don't have crys2 (before the ED update, it's probably crys1)
