Hi, I have a question about character development, sort of, or more specifically where it would be wisest to spend money on it.

I'm currently at lvl 219 and I'm wondering what you experts would consider the smartest thing to spend money on at the moment, my own thoughts are to either spend it on a piece of gear
(upgrade my helmet and/or buy some more pieces of mag. shadowdancer?)

A new weapon, though it would likely mean having to continue saving for a few more days at least. I'm thinking a legendary and/or ethereal rapier perhaps? I'm looking for something tank-friendly that makes a major immediate upgrade compared to my current weapon, and that won't become underpowered until lvl 300-325 at least.

Or am I better off continuing to spend on training? It's seemed to me that item drop quality/quantity ranks are wise investments, but they are now becoming quite expensive.

Perhaps I should even save longer and then buy a Hath Perk? Crystarium? Innate Arcana 2? (I have postage paid & innate arcana 1 unlocked at present)

My stats, gear, ability tree* and training progress, I also currently training for more ability points to max out better silence.

Save up a little while longer, then buy a new weapon?
Start looking right away for one or two better pieces of armor for sale?
Spend it on training the ranks in drop quality/quantity?
Keep saving and buy a new Hath Perk in a few weeks?

it seems you want to go with 1H shade... in this case since a good ethereal rapier is hard to find i'd suggest you to go with a low-BUR whatever-rapier-of-slaughter, or even with an ethereal axe due to its higher damage (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

as for trainings, they are better than mine, so i guess you're good to go for some time O.o

as for shield, you may consider to search at least for a force shield to reduce the BUR due to kite or buckler of the barrier (which has the same block chance of a kite, and also reduces ITR)

as for armor, you should post also those links, without them it's a bit hard to guess but judging from names i'd the helmet; surely i wouldn't search for many shadowdancer, they have really too high costs just to add a bit crit bonus imo...

Okay, I've installed this magic score thingy recommended by something... (no pun intended!!)

So I tried it out out on these equips (and yes, I DO HAVE them equiped!!)


And it gives me THIS


It displays "magic score" for the rest of the equips works just fine on the rest of my Heimdall Armament and my Elemental Mage setup...
Seriously, what's with the script really? Is there a bug somewhere or did I mess up its usage (S on equip popup) somewhere?

Btw, I got the script here, and it's the version 2.0.3.1. apparently not updated since afaik.
If the phase shoe thingy worked as intended, then I'd say that it didn't work on the shoe of my elemental mage setup...

pretty much what Scremaz said. also, i'll probably sound like a broken record, but imo, everyone should get Max Pack Rat (& Postage Paid Perk) asap. Luck of the Draw will pay for itself in the long long long run.

as for weapon, Ethereal is not necessary. however, Slaughter is. Shade+1H+sheild is safe enough, you need more damage.

armor you can upgrade whenever you what, but it's not really top priority unless you've some 2PAB ones. though, probably need a new helmet. also, a decent force shield will be nice.

Crystarium is nice when you can finish 1000rds of hellfest, but i'll put that aside for now. IA2 can be a decent choice too, but 100haths is 900+k credits. also, mana shouldn't be a huge problem for you anyway. so you can put these 2 in the back burner for now.

tl;dr. Max Pack Rat, New Rapier Slaughter + Shield + Helmet. if there's credit left, Lotd &/or Quartermaster.

Well, it looks like to me that your mag Kat of heimdall staff is not equipped. You phase is equipped. Your holy score with a different staff is 5533.

That happens to me when I about to switch staff, and press S on the staff I want to equip with next. The score will pop up as either '- X' in red or '+ X' in green, telling me if it is better or worse than my current weapon.

Your setup looks Schizophrenic..... What element are you playing? Pick one (fire, cold, wind, electric) and get phase gear for that element. And get a staff of prefixed and suffixed element or of destruction. For example, Magnificent 'Tempestuous' Redwood Staff of 'Freyr' or MAgnificent 'Tempestuous' Redwood Staff of 'Destruction'

Once you have picked out an element, find phase gear of that type. You can go to my store and pick out free exquisite ones.

yep, without considering shadow veil effect i can still take 24% of physical attcks and 17% of magical attacks, if i did the right calculations. though i tried it only once so i cannot be sure (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Stop training your Strength and Dexterity, as a mage they have no use. I stopped training my Strength and Dexterity at 41
