imo, i'll just save it up for personal collection unless the price is really really really tempting. 60k is about the same price as a noodly, which imo, is too low to part with a collectible.

Well, that one guy buying it for 120K is tempting me.

Combined with the 7 other trophies, I'd net a cool 240K.

They're both really bad for holy magic.... one is missing intelligence, the other is a dark staff...

There is no other way except to cast the spells as often as you can.

Spam cure and weaken/imperil on a mob on low difficulty, so it can't harm you and you won't kill him (1st round of GF on normal for example, there should be only 1 or 2 monsters against you), until you're low on mana pots (take as many as you can). I did it with a crappy focus staff (the cheapest one I could find in the shop, quality doesn't matter since you're not gonna attack with it) with mana-conservation.

I did it while watching 2 movies, my deprecating proficiency went from 40 to 110 (just kept spamming 3 keys with the "spell spam" script)

If you have some spare equips of equivalent value, you can also tweak your build to lower your interference and spam longer (without sacrificing too much defense or you'll have to cast cure too often). At your level, go browse the free shop if needed.

Don't forget to upgrade better weaken/imperil as high as you can (just for the run if you're low on Ability points) to decrease the cooldowns.

Ouch, GOBC @ 120k? This was harder to get than six-lock box which was worth 390k, wonder if price will rise soon.

This is a tough question.... I will try to give some advice, but you can definitely make your own decision.

I would forget about the Katalox staff of focus... If we compare the Willow Staff, it has a terribly low dark EDB, but really nice WD.

If you max forge the Willow, for WD, dark EDB, Dark Prof, INT and Wis, we come out to 1428, 33.18, 98, 66, and 96.39, respectively.

If you max forge your Fox, for WD, dark EDB, Dark Prof, INT and Wis, we come out to 878, 39.33, 113, 172, and 45, respectively.

These numbers are scaled to my level, probably close to yours also, and generally the numbers I look at for staff.

Overall, if the Willow had a higher EDB it would be better, obviously, since it also has counter-resist. The Willow I would say is a slight upgrade bc of counter resist and high WD. Really it comes down to comparing high WD (+counter-resist) on the willow to the high INT on the Kat.

If I were in your shoes, for the short term and could not decide, I would keep the Fox staff, but re-IW it for Econo4-5 and some Penetrator. In the meantime, IW the Willow (Econo5 and more Penetrator) and maybe try to find a better staff. Yeah, I know, sometimes it's impossible to find a perfect weapon.


EDIT: if you are into focus staffs, I have seen Leg Dem Kat Focus and Leg Dem Willow Focus for sale somewhere.

Cure isn't so good for spamming anymore since the cooldown was introduced. Protection doesn't cost that much mp either and has no cooldown...

I tried doing 15x difficulty for random encounters, and it worked decently for a while, but then I got virtually one-shotted by some monster doing roughly my HP-pool in damage. Am I just supposed to get better equips to deal with this? Or am I not supposed to do this difficulty at my current level?

*I'm a 1H + shield and light armor dude

Yeah, I think so. Here is my Dark staff, for example. Playable for me. I paid about 100k for this staff.
