QUOTE(LostLogia4 @ Apr 22 2014, 00:05) Silly Rabbit, Idealism Is for Kids... yeah, with knowledge comes pragmatism really.
(Un?)fortunately, the world tends to be changed by idealists, for better or worse, most likely because idealists like to throw caution, norm, morality, and even self-preservation to the wind, just to chase after their visions. They're usually the first people to go to places normal men are scared (or lazy) of going (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) This post has been edited by holy_demon: Apr 21 2014, 16:58

Just because you know something doesn't make you smarter or anything really.

Knowledge is a necessary condition for wisdom. It doesn't guarantee that you can make better decision. But ignorance will guarantee stupid decision. Also idealism and wisdom aren't mutually exclusive, a wise idealist will know how to make decision that will improve the likelihood of his vision (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif)

QUOTE(malkatmp @ Apr 21 2014, 16:27) please Do Not Shrine pony figurines. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/anime_cry.gif) you can: 1) keep them & once you collect 21 different ones you'll automatically get Orbital Friendship Cannon 2) sell them in WTB section. it ranges from 65-100k, depends on who's buying. Well I'm planning on getting the Cannon... one day, just needed to know if it worked like the coins. I'm gonna look at that anti-pony script (and the others)

Anyway, since when did the spells have cooldowns, and why?

Because mages were too OP back than. When melee can only reach normalfest ~1000 round in 2 hours, mage can do the BTfest ~1000 round in two hour. Mage is still OP in this patch IMO, if you put enough biding into the gears. This post has been edited by Colman: Apr 21 2014, 19:01

so when and how to use hi-tiers then? you just spell-spam em on cooldown or what? was thinking about making a spellspam chain (3,2,1,1,1,1 tier) which would start on start of every new round

Well I just unlocked tier 2 elemental spells and used it in a nightmarefest I have 680 MP which lasted till 12 rounds..Well Using those tier 2 spells didn't make any major diff than tier 1 spells....So does tier 2 spells make any diff at higher level or my assessment is wrong??

It may depends on the number of monsters. 1~3: Imperil -> 1 tier 4~5: Imperil -> Imperil -> 1 tier (or 2) 6: Imperil -> Imperil -> 2 tier (or 3) 7: Imperil -> Imperil -> Imperil -> 2 tier (or 3) 8~9: Imperil -> Imperil -> Imperil -> 3 tier Well, if you want to maximize firepower and don't need to save mana, always cast highest-tier you can use at the moment. And lower tier in consecutive order to the remaining monsters.

so the key to maging is Imperil? or why else so much of it? won't it slow the whole thing down casting so much of it?

There's a bit damage difference among tier 1, 2, and 3. But more to the point, there's range difference among them, as well. 1 tier: base 3, max 5 2 tier: base 5, max 7 3 tier: base 7, max 10 QUOTE(Owyn @ Apr 22 2014, 03:15) so the key to maging is Imperil? or why else so much of it? won't it slow the whole thing down casting so much of it?
Imperil is not an option, but a must for mages (at least for high difficulty). You can see at least x3 ~ x5+ damage difference depending on enemy's mitigation with and without Imperil. This post has been edited by Cats Lover: Apr 21 2014, 20:25

Well imperil is much faster than any of those offensive spells, and it can also act as a buffer during T2/3 cooldown. So overall, it's better than simple facemelting.

Did you slot the ability "Elementalism"? Maybe it could make a difference... This post has been edited by boulay: Apr 21 2014, 20:27

Well I have slotted the elemental abilities except the elementalism one which is exclusively for tier 2 spells...but looking at this thread looks like I need to work on my deprecating proficiency.

just tried "End of Day" @PF and lasted til rd 107, ran out of potions & low on spirit then died. i feel like i'm pretty close.
though, going in with 0-4% cold/holy/dark mitigation seems to be my downfall. should i just spam silence &/or weaken on SG? also, go in with 20%+ in all elemental mitigation?

Does "Custom Font" makes the gameplay faster? Or is there no difference in speed compared to Default HV Font?
