rapier+shield+shade looks like the best choice atm. Yeah that means changing all your stuff (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) but shade would give you better defense than power of protection.

Everyone does shade, but I suppose if it'll let me PFUDOR DwD finally without constantly running outta potions then it's for me. Sides, I'll get 80-90% of the mats off my current equips back so the investment won't be unwieldy. Better clear your IW service schedule Dani. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

So when I'm building a shade set should I worry more about evade or maybe concentrate on getting an elemental mitigation prefix mix?

I've been investing in Adept Learner and have it at 51, should I keep going to 100, or branch off to scavenger? If so, how many points should I invest in before returning to Adept Learner? And which other of these should I train in?

adept learner gives a nice ROI.
there isn't a best way, i suggest you to raise your difficulty level, try to arrive at Hell so the 1000+ round penalty will be kicked out (or at least at Nightmare so it would be way less effective), and only then you can start to hope (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

however, shops (even in free sections) may already have what you're searching for (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Jenga is the shade expert but i guess adb, evade and agi are the main stats and holy res > dark res >>>> other res.

The last time I used dual shortswords I was wearing full Kevlar and playing 1st page Arenas on Nintendo/BT up to Endgame. Need to use Spirit Stance all the time to speed up the killing before the mob had the chance to use their skills. It was successful. Half of the time.

Before you switch to shade, have you tried using featherweight charm and/or suffused aether. I need to use featherweight on 3 pieces to clear PFUDOR DwD (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif)

Oh sure, I cheat and shard/infuse the shit out of everything whenever I play. I'm usually high bidder on itembot for infusions and feathers. It's how I've done the dw/power combo for this long.

Hadn't tried aether shards tho... thought they were for mages only really, but if they'll buff some mana conservation then I'll try it out now.

DW/Power isn't as inefficient as others made it out to be. Teresa and Colman use it for their PFUDOR DwD run and they do perfectly fine. So you must be doing something wrong if you can't do it with that much forging >.> Say, how do you use your frenzied blow?

Rest assured, doing DwD with 1H + Shade is just going to be harder. The trick for DwD is to kill as fast as possible, not to last as long as possible. And 1H Shade is the worst when it comes to killing speed.

The mana consumption is proportional to one's level.
But don't worry, as your level gets higher, you will get more MP pool and longer duration of Heartseeker for its high ability level and high supportive proficiency.

FYI I have 1850 MP now, and Heartseeker costs 602 MP (452 MP with spirit stance), and it lasts 382 turn (573 turn with channeling) on 1H Heavy.

imo, try to lvl up as fast as possible. ie doing Random Encounters & arenas @ the highest possible difficult. also, keep stamina above 80, so you get that double exp. though, i would not buy/waste energy drink for that. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

with 1H +power, i generally prefer Not to cast Heartseeker. so after casting protection/regen/SOL/etc, (maybe after some depreciating spell when my SP is low) i generally get Channeling & a "Free" Heartseeker. or at least, cast it on Spirit Stance to get that 25% mana discount.

imo, unless it's noodly (~55-60k) or sapling (~2-3k), i'll just shrine everything. you might get a bit more in selling them, but just a bit more & if you're lucky you might get something good.

edit: got a quick question about forging, does it stack? it said it'll increase 1% of its base, so does Physical damage stack with butcher & itself? ie 10lvs in Physical Damage means it's compounded on itself 10 times.

Each forge adds 1% to base, slightly more at first, for the first 25 and 50 respectively, then the returns decline exponentially. The max you can increase a stat through forging is about 75% for 100 bindings and 35% for 50 bindings.
