QUOTE(holy_demon @ Mar 22 2014, 15:50) Cos you guys always stress about mana conservation, so I assume that mana would be a big problem in SG (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) Mana conservation should be one of the factor deciding how fast you can go, which is important. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) QUOTE(Beryl @ Mar 22 2014, 16:09) This one's damage output isn't that great, but you should try that first to see if you like the lack of defense (i.e. being hit more often) for better offense. QUOTE(holy_demon @ Mar 22 2014, 10:50) You're doing it with Wind or Holy? Did you have to forge your armor to do DwD, or just a forged staff is enough?
Dark but holy would be slightly better, usually take the better set you have. You can do it with any kind of stuff but it'll be bothersome with lot of ET and improved drain. With more forging, you'll go faster up to the point you shouldn't need to ET anymore but this should be really expensive. Edit: aether shard + featherweight and eventually voidseeker if you have to ET will help you greatly in your first tries. This post has been edited by danixxx: Mar 22 2014, 10:19

QUOTE(holy_demon @ Mar 22 2014, 16:16) I'm curious, has any mage attempted PFUDOR SG? Is it even possible for mages?
(IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Why do you think holy is so expensive? Mage > DW > anything else for SGs, time wise. some people take less than 30min for DwD. QUOTE(Beryl @ Mar 22 2014, 17:09) I would go with the estoc.

Can you do PFUDOR DwD using wind without needing to ET/Focus though? I'm curious if an elemental mage can ever get to the point where that's possible. I can do the first two schoolgirl marathons on PFUDOR without needing to ET/Focus, but if I try that on DwD I'll run out of potions. This post has been edited by n125: Mar 22 2014, 10:50

Well as soon as I could find a good staff, forge it, then train my AP high enough to duo play mage with melee (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) but thanks a lot for the tip, especially the aether bit (I kinda forget that it even exists) EDIT: on the subject of maging, between Katalox of Destruction and Oak of Heimdal, what would be better for holy maging? Dunno i don't want to try 'cause it takes more hits to kill a sg with elemental but i'd say yes, yes we can (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) .

QUOTE(Fuu @ Mar 22 2014, 04:09) not really. 1H is the safest way to play at IWBTH/PFUDOR but it might not be to your liking. i say try them all and see what works for you. if you plan on sticking with 2H shade and want to optimize damage output then you should either: a: IW your mace and pray you end up with a useful strike. reforge it first if you can; overpower is useless for mace b: consider switching to estoc. its not as safe as a mace but the damage output is significantly higher c: find a better ethereal mace and IW that one instead d: upgrade all your armors for ones that have higher ADB rolls (specifically your breastplate and helmet since they're both missing STR) e: ignore this post entirely and go 1H power or DW shade oh, and bring your end and agi up to where your dex is. try not to keep them too far apart. just curious, how does shrine trophies works? in the wiki it said, it has a Loot Quality Bonus of +1000? +1250? etc. mostly, i'm getting <Superior stuff from SG trophies. why are people actually spending that much credit buying them? (especially, noodly?) (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

(IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) Shrining SG trophies give you equips that have similar worth (including bazzar price + salvaging them from forge) with selling them directly to other person at WTB. (from 5000+ cases) Though I don't have enough data on Noodly Appendage yet. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) This post has been edited by Cats Lover: Mar 22 2014, 19:54

There has to be some worthwhile return for carrying on...

we should ask yakamoz or teana... however i'm curious myself, the only time i shrined a noodly i earned a sup non-prefixed leather with 2PABs (yeh, i remember it very well -.-" ): it sounded to me like i used money to fire a cigarette and conluded that for me the best solution is to sell them (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I recently shrined 4k SG trophies and did not receive anything worth selling. I got few HG mats from salvaging the high pxp exquisites. The sale price of those equipments is well below the cost in WTB. (especially, noodly?) (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) Generally, its a money sink, but there can be good things come out of it. Now that you can get a peerless from shrines, its worth it even more to gamble. The cost of trophies is nothing to a lot of players, so it only makes sense to gamble for a leg/peerless item. Basically, its best to sell all of your trophies unless you either don't need the income, or want to try for a peerless.

Thanks Jenga, 4,000 trophies - that's 2,000,000 credits @ 500c per trophy - just chump change for you was it? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) What little trophies I've shrined, I am in the minus. Meaning, none of the gear I'd received was worth the price of the trophies in the WTB.
