QUOTE(holy_demon @ Mar 10 2014, 03:52) I reckon you guys should increase the "new player" restriction, maybe to lv. 200 or even lv.250
There's really not that many -lv150 players...
Well, I'm kinda biased but... - by level 113 I was setting things up, could IW and already had my own shop.
- by level 130 or so I was running IW service on Legendary items.
- by level 199, I had made millions in cash and items, decked out in full mag or above gear with a small bit of forging and naturally IWs and held auctions of my own. My speed was uncontested best I've heard of.
- by level 230 I had reached round 1895 in normal grindfest, had branched into more esoteric and specific plans to win and was playing the long game with credits.
- by level 250 I had sacrificed depth for even greater speed.
No gold star, donations or H@H.

No gold star, donations or H@H. Well you're talking about the time before all the changes to the monster lab and arena. Level 200 back in your days was essentially the same as level 300 now. Heck, just 6 months ago, monsters weren't quite as ridiculously strong as they are now. And the whole parry/resist thing makes everything even harder for everyone. Also, you being a scripter gives you a lot more advantage than an average player This post has been edited by holy_demon: Mar 10 2014, 05:16

You're assuming I was scripter at level 113.
BZZZT! False!
I wasn't then, or even at 130 - even at 199, everything I used was publicly available anyway.
As for the parry/resist thing or monster strength, that applies mostly only those high level enough to play PFUDOR and face them. I don't think there are any max chaosed PL300 mobs, and if there are they aren't so much stronger than the rest.
True that ML encounter change makes thing tougher, but not so much so that they wouldn't be able to get at least few million credits for gear. And expecting gear better than that in Free shop is a bit...

maybe, i just suck at playing this game. but at lv150, i didn't even realize there's freeshops or WTS/WTB or "Ask the Experts" thread. i'm still rocking a mix of plate & leather gear and dying a lot. almost everything i got is from bazaar. lastly, iirc, i've forged a couple binding of slaughter on a superior 2H mace then sold it back to bazaar for pocket change. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) QUOTE(zotnios @ Mar 10 2014, 00:11) Well, from a logical point of view, upgrading a weapon in a more difficult level takes more effort, so the reward should be proportionally bigger.
If it is not the case, lowering the difficulty of the game can be a shortcut for having better weapons in an easy way.
Even if the gain is slight, like with pants or shoes, there is no motive for not doing it.
It is always fighting. 100 rounds of Grindfest or 100 rounds of Item World, always experience and loot.
imo, don't worry about Grindfest or IW for now. just try to get a Superior/Exquisite Set gear and try to level up as fast as possible. This post has been edited by malkatmp: Mar 10 2014, 05:29

You know the prof ability bonus only applies if you only wear heavy/light/cloth in all 5 slots, right? In any case, I'm not really against raising the level to 200 with differing sort of restrictions depending on level. Some people rise in level like a rocket star now, so they'd be comparatively poorer for their accumulated exp. This post has been edited by Lement: Mar 10 2014, 06:12

Well, it is pretty significant - worth more than any single armor piece you could wear.
Unless you meant two sets, one light and other heavy, of course.
Also, dropping a difficulty level and rocking full shade+mace is probably > estoc+leather.

What makes estoc+shade an inferior choice than leather. Estoc user sure could use the speed boost

Speed boost is inherent feature of light armor prof, not shade ability (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif). Anyway, it is the lack of defense - I assume he cannot tank with shade that well. Estoc+shade is relatively recent thing, tbh.

Estoc+shade is relatively recent thing, tbh. shade set has no burden. hence, higher speedy bonus + evade. though, how's the Estoc+shade survivability? i'd imagine it'll have some trouble on higher difficulties with 6+ monsters. on the other hand, i remember colman suggesting Estoc/Longsword + leather set. Estoc/Longsword for damages and Leather set for survivability (also, alot cheaper, but slower).

In Arena, shade + estoc have no survivability problem even if my shade set is poor, at least for my level. I need to heal from time to time, but I have more than enough mp. Leather + estoc is better because I can heal less often.

Can you do PFUDOR T&T with that setup ? Is it facerollfest or curefest? This post has been edited by holy_demon: Mar 10 2014, 08:47

PF T&T is easy. Need more heal than 1H though.

How about SG? Also, I've been curious for a while, can you do PFUDOR SG with your 1H axe set?

Demonic Axe + Holy Infusions + Imperil and SGs should go down fast.

But won't you have problem with mana? And how fast is fast? From my experience in PFUDOR DwD, if I spend more than 100 turns/round on the last 35 rounds (rounds with 3 SG) then I won't make it (atm I clear them in 70-90 turns, depending if I can cast OFC twice). I reckon it might be possible with 1H axe + shade, but I don't think 1H axe + power would work. This post has been edited by holy_demon: Mar 10 2014, 10:56

I have never tried. I use light DW for SG run. In fact, I don't even play with SG recently.

Meh, don't worry. Players who get to level 400 in 6-months, well they are getting help. A lot of Chinese players share equipments, credits, even accounts to get up to high levels. This is the 'team' approach I mentioned a while ago. It's hard to become rich these days w/o contributing to the site in one way or another. Or you can just sit and grind for hours without eating, sleeping, or fapping. This game will slow down when some dudes here realize that beautiful girls do exist in real life. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) ALL LIES They all wear make up and strategically position their breasts to look perkier and fuller. Heck, with me being an asian skinny pale dude, I'd probably look just as pretty if I wear the make-up myself. All those fake visuals actually stir my attraction from breast to ass. It's much harder to disguise the ass to fool the eyes, and even if it can, it's more socially acceptable to casually "test its firmness". Also irl clitoris doesn't look nearly as cute and sexy as hentai clitoris :cry This post has been edited by holy_demon: Mar 10 2014, 13:12
