Absorb is useless IMO. It's expensive, rarely works and when it does, gives you back less of the casting cost.

the only time that i find absorb usefull is the one casted from scroll of the gods, because it will work 100% and it costs no mp.

but with silence you will get physical critics so more mana in curative.. we can say that is less AP consuming (5 instead of the 10 between bewilder and weaken) and time consuming because you only need to cast one spell...

25% chance that you will still die and the sp attacks from the gods are unsurvivable
edit you will still need to invest 5 ap into absorb to get it to 75%
edit2: there is still a chance that no monster wil cast a spell, so you have wasted either your mp or channeling (which could have been used for regen 2 or arcana meditation or other expensive spells ). edit3 Exception is when you are playing on the higher difficulties, but the question was asked by a lvl 90 person.

There was once a time when you needed to conserve SP, to ensure enough mana pots to kill the gods. A true challenge. Ah, how I miss those days... (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

i usually get lucky enough to get sp back from second winds and soul gems and conserving mp will make the battle take longer. I prefer quick and fast battles (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) This post has been edited by hyl: Jan 18 2011, 00:14

How does magic damage multipliers stack? Is it general plus specific (ie. electric bonus) or is it multiplicative? Basically, my question is that if you have lots of mjolnir equips, it it more beneficial to get a destruction staff (better if they're multiplicative) rather than a mjolnir staff (better if they're additive because ele bonus levels better) for more electric damage.

No, I thought you're referring to how the equip bonuses were added each other. Apply the prof first, then calc the total equipment bonus. After that: (dmg roll)(1+mdm/100)(1+(rating+EDB)/100)(1+prof/200) AF adds mdm, infusion adds rating. This post has been edited by cmdct: Jan 18 2011, 00:41

i use it for the increase in hit and crit, rather than damage. Also AM last hundreds of turns
