QUOTE(etothex @ Feb 10 2014, 11:31) Does it seem to anyone else that VItal Stirke (1h t2 skill) is failing to proc bleed a lot more?
Almost the same for me. BTW, I only use it on FSM.

QUOTE(buktore @ Feb 10 2014, 12:04) 3. One thing anyone need to realize about 1H is that a very large percentage of their overall defensive (and offensive) capability came not from their avoidance stats (which it has the highest of all all melee, mind you...), but from its ability to (painlessly and reliably) stun monsters by countering their attacks—something you can only do with block/parry.
Thanks for the responses. So if you block an attack, you have the chance to counter-attack, right? Does this also hold true for parrying an attack? I am asking because I'm not sure which: this versus this is better for light. Basically should I try to max block% or is it still okay to mix in some parry. BTW, your force shield is bad.

It's not often for me to say this, but to answer that question you would have to do the MATH!!!11! on what ratio/combination of block/parry give you the best performance, though block is better than parry if all else being equal—by how much exactly is depend on your preference, though. QUOTE(treesloth16 @ Feb 10 2014, 12:02) Whats wrong with it? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) Not a peerless, I guess... (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/faint.gif) My best shield I test around with is worse; work fine for all the stuff I usually do in the game. QUOTE(treesloth16 @ Feb 10 2014, 13:02) Whats wrong with it? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) At least go for shield with exq max block chance. I do not think it is a problem for your level (and budget). A Mag max force shield mostly cost <1M. If you want to aim for the best, a Leg max force shield of warding is cost less than 8M. If you use your force shield with light armor, I doubt it can maintain your overcharge for permanent spirit stance. If you use it with Heavy, I think it is ok. However, you should get a better one if you want to use it for a long time. This post has been edited by Colman: Feb 10 2014, 07:34

Play at PFUDOR and it should be fine.

My best shield (which I got it from drop) is WORSE than treesloth16's MAG ... QUOTE(zeadragon @ Feb 10 2014, 12:29) How much base block chance of your best shield?
Lower than treesloth16's force shield. This post has been edited by buktore: Feb 10 2014, 07:42

For block chance, aim for 42% because that's the point where even fully chaos'ed monsters will have 1/3 of their attacks blocked. Simple math yes? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/faint.gif) FYI, I'm running with 51.4% block chance. The shield alone provides 46.83%.

(IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/faint.gif) FYI, I'm running with 51.4% block chance. The shield alone provides 46.83%. Does anyone use bucklers anymore? I think if I max forge my Leg buckler, it will be exactly 40% block chance, so equipped block% might be slightly >42%. Which is way worse than max forging the bad mag force shield; where max forged becomes ~52%. So that means the only useful buckler is really of 'Barrier' suffix? That seems sad.... Buckler can have of battlecaster suffix, which can give up to 21% mana conservation. Some may want that I guess.

I just got a legendary (albeit a crappy leather boots of protection) from Graduation PFUDOR yesterday... So it's probably just your luck This post has been edited by holy_demon: Feb 10 2014, 15:22

Okay, so after ditching hvstat for my own script, my speed becomes 2 actions per second. Which is way better than before.
So while holy demon works on his ajax, I wonder if services like wtfast or battleping makes a difference?
Their free version disconnects every 20 minutes which is fine, almost like 1 arena.

I do not think those program (wtfast or battleping) help HV much. You can try, but do not expect much. For me, HV stat is slow only after ~20 minutes. I am also using my own script now, but the overall speed is not much different. BTW, what did you put in your script?

QUOTE(Colman @ Feb 9 2014, 23:34) Yes. The only thing you need is a good shield. (try to aim for 40%+ block at your level) Main hand rapier also provide some protection against melee attack.
I got myself a ~35% block Force Shield. It was cheap so I can't really ask for too much. I also assembled a decent Magnificent Leather set and whoa - it's really a whole new change of pace from DW. For once I don't feel like a glass cannon and survivability is through the roof in comparison. XD

I play HV in the Incognito mode of Iron v31 (latest). Incognito effectively disable all scripts, except for the relevant ones that you must specify beforehand. The speed is great, almost 3 actions/sec for my 290 ping. Remember to use the No Image and this script as well. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/happy.gif) Edit: I have these scripts enabled in Incognito: HV - Inline Difficulty Changer * HV Keybinds * HV Monster Sensor * HV No Image * HV Powerup Gem Indicator Inline Equipment Changer * Mousemelee No "You are Victorious" Popup RiddleLimiter Plus *Spell Spam * are the ones which affect actual battle. And I have the No Blinking script appended to Mousemelee. This post has been edited by Kagoromo: Feb 10 2014, 16:26

let's see, -the round counter, gem box from hvstat lite -modify hvstat lite's spark alert into regen, spirit shield and protection alert -modify someone else's hp alert to give mana, spirit and overcharge alert too -document.getElementById("ckey_continue").click(); -open new tab pony alert basically everything I like and it all costs just 3kb vs the 300kb bullshit of hvstat. My ping is 250ms. Will definitely try it out.
