QUOTE(echimaru @ Jan 8 2010, 23:54) as all of you senpai-tachi can see my stat are much go to melee attack, i wonder what else that i should increase. well i was thinking of something that like artillery cannon. where i increase my attack, endurance and dex. but i dont know the golden ratio that would be the best to be used for my char. well my equipment was much buy from market by myself since when i play so far, i ONLY ONCE get item(so far my catch 1 crude cotton cap, and 1 other item that can be throwed at the shrine. I NEVER EVER got any other eq until the day i make this post, most of my catch are potion (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/anime_cry.gif) ). so for eq i will upgrade it one by one and over time, but what kind of weapon would be the best for this kind of attacker? i was thinking of using a weapon that increase my stat either on dmg or accuracy, but would it gonna work? There are lots of choices for melee weapons, it depends on what you want in terms of damage, accuracy, and defense. Pretty much anything except a staff would work to some degree with a shield. You should probably balance out your stats a little, or at least more than they are now. Even if you don't use much magic, INT and WIS can still help you take less damage from it. And as soon as you get some credits, get better equipment. I can tell you're just starting out, but better gear will make your life much easier. Edit: @ echimaru: Check your Mooglemail. It's the flashy thing. @ Dante: Karma info. In short, if someone does something good, you reward them by giving them green/positive karma. If you don't like something that someone does, you can give them red/negative karma. That's more or less how it works. In theory. Just don't assume that everyone with huge red numbers are jerks. ...or small red numbers, for that matter. This post has been edited by dap00: Jan 9 2010, 11:41

i see so it would be better if increase my wis and int first. but how many do you think it would be better? i make it at least within 7-10 status point of my highest status or make it within 4-7? which one would be better? should i also save some more ability point? so when i reach lv30 i straight away adding those saved point on the hp and exp boost? which one do you think would be better? well i was thinking of making it like a knight, have a big damage, good defense, agility and accuracy. since my magic was pretty much useless except "cure". p.s: thanks dap00-senpai i was help much for a newbie like me ^^(hope those +karma help you)

I'm not qualified to give you advice about using heavy armor, but your quest seems impossible to fulfill, mainly because of the part I bolded. Good agility is impossible when using heavy armor and would actually be a foolish thing to pursue because burden grows so much faster than action speed. As for high accuracy, that is more of a product of DW rather than the 1-HS I assume you are using as a tank.

I think you have the wrong idea of what a knight is -- they're neither fast nor accurate. They're damage absorption and damage output.
If that's the route you want to take, get plate or mail armor and a good Kite or Tower shield (the higher the block, the better). Axes have the best damage output, but have low accuracy. Shortswords have average damage and average accuracy. Rapiers are high accuracy, low-average damage. Find Average pieces or better. Check the WTS forum, you'll get better deals on equip than in the shop.
Put points into MP Tank, because you want MP so you can cast Cure. If you have extra AP left over after putting points into everything you want, save them.
INT you can let lag, -10 of your level should be fine. DEX and WIS you'll want at your level, give or take. AGI, you can let it fall to about -5, but you should consider keeping it close to your level. END and STR should always be at your level or higher, but don't raise them at the expense of other stats.

QUOTE(CZer @ Jan 8 2010, 12:59) Also, it looks like that would bring my interference up to about 35. I would expect it to be less with all the cloth and a chainmail body armor but I don't know how to reduce it. I see some people with quite a bit more plate with interference around 10 so there must be some way to reduce it.
10 interference? Either you're imagining it, or it's someone like Hito who has a huge interference reduction from his stats and proficiencies. If you want to keep it below 20 you're going to have to ditch that Hauberk. QUOTE Re: gossamer it's just the best thing i have at that spot now (cloth-wise) and it's hard to find silk in the stores as well.
Something like that is good if you want to use offensive magic. The problem is, I'm not sure your elemental proficiency is high enough to begin with. As for training that up, you'd be much better off using Montage to boost something like Cloth proficiency. The problem with a magic Montage is, because one of your proficiencies is high, the others only gain tiny amounts. You can get far more just by casting spells until your mana runs out.

well since if i not increase my dex it would be quite such a hustle to increase my agi thats what i was thinking. but if i maximizing my damage and endurance at the time wouldnt it be the best choice i have? since if try to catch most of my other stat it still gonna be far behind. or maybe i make it into magic knight like that? have norm atk, norm agi, norm dex, but high magic(high on int, def and wis)? which one would be better? about the weapon choice which one is better? the one that focus on stunning the enemy or use combination weapon instead using shield? well totally confused about what i should do? ==a

There is no reason to have high int/wis as a melee character, and if you want to wear heavy armor your not going to be able to be an effective caster because of interference. As far as weapons go your best bet is probably an axe or rapier, mace stun isn't all that good especially if your thinking a 1h weapon. Really you need to read the tips and info thread. Best thing I can tell you is to keep stats even for now, and use the best pieces of equipment you have.

well i have read but still a bit confused about it. maybe i will make my char a tanker like most of u say, so change the job into defender right? but for weapon if i use axe or rapier wouldnt that kind of hard to decide? since one focus on atk and the other one focusing on dex? which mean that depend on what kind of weapon that i use, i should improving my stat? but if choose between those two what about my off hand? should use shield or just straight away combine those two? or use other weapon as support?(well since i dont know what other weapon can be combined so have no clue about it). p.s: i was really wonder about using higher level weapon, for example if i buy some kind of crazy weapon for 70+lv my burden and inter would be high right? but if i use the weapon on my level would it gives the same result?(like it gonna decrease the agi or acc if compared with higher lv weapon but big burden and inter?)

Like I said focusing on stats isn't necessary in this game the very small gains from gear really don't make enough difference to affect your style of play. Keep your stats relatively even and you should be fine. As far as fighting style that's up to you to decide but for the most part whatever weapons you have that happen to be your best are probably the ones to go with. Half the fun of the game is playing with different equipment combinations to see what you like. And yes higher lvl gear will have higher burden/interference but there are pieces that when scaled to your level and give better stats then something at your level(did that make sense??) its just a matter of finding them.

well since using weapon on the same level of yours it didnt decrease ur hit rate something like that. since if i just hit one but most of the monster it more than once i still gonna doomed without able to defense myself isnt it? well i dont know much since i just got a better eq yesterday from SOMEONE(i dont write his name in order not to make him get troubled by someone asking for free weapon) but i still noob at it so as expert which weapon would be the best for me? how about other eq should i use plate mail or something light? i make all of my armor become heavy or light? since i totally have no idea about the eq combination. ihave read but wouldnt expert give more better explanation?(sorry if i asking too much and a bit arguing, since my char atm totally crapped as i try the arena challenge again just now and lost again TT )

Basically, you use the best weapon available to you, the weapon type doesn't matter. If your axe is better than your rapier, use the axe. If you have a shield with 20+% block use a shield off hand, otherwise use a high parry high acc weapon.
Early on heavy armor will be better than light/cloth, you wont be able to get enough evade to make lighter armors worthwhile until at least the 60-80 range. For stats, as a rule of thumb keep each stat within 10 of your level (ie if you are level 50 dont have a stat below 40 or above 60)
To start with just go heavy tank until you get the hang of the game. It is the easiest, least rng/luck dependent style of play, just go all heavy armor, a shield, and the highest bleed damage axe you can find and click everything do death, using cure where necessary. Once you get a feel for things you can try out other styles to see what you like best.

Echimaru , at ur current level till around lvl 40 u shld concentrate on armour providing u the highest physical absorb be it heavy or light(which ever u can find or buy). After that u must see wat equips u can get to get a good mix of armor. I'm also a 'Knight' style character build(i also dual wield PA+2turn Stun is too good). I have attached some for ur reference on my stat build( In HentaiVerse Albert Einstein can move better then Arnold in plate mail) . Hope this helps (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) P.S - Anyone can give tips on Exquiste Item World. Currently stuck on lvl 75(could clear up to lvl 74 probably by luck lol) This post has been edited by ExTe: Jan 10 2010, 04:56

oh i see, so atm better focus on end and increase all other stat so it within 10 range. about the armor i see your(ExTe) interference and burden are quite big so are got hit more before you can attack? since i read from tip and help thread it showed that as long as those within 20 your char not gonna hurt much. but is it worthed? i mean since of course u buy the best armor first and i think u also use quite a lot potion arent you? since if u got hit more than u can hit ex: hit enemy once and one enemy within a mob deal ***dmg, but the monster already hit you more than once. lets say that you fight 4monster and u hit one of those monster with crit and make it lost half of its hp but you got hit around 7 times(since your hit not fast enough the other monster are already hit again) so your hp already lost around 1/10 of it. u use potion or cure but is it worthed?

Actually i have lots of armor pieces to play around. But i try to keep interference under 35 and burden under 40. Even at burden 40 i seldom get double hit(maybe 1 time every 4 turns didnt noticed), unless its by 'Ghost' which seems to be a pretty fast monster. A semi Decent shield or parry offhand would do the trick.
As for potions i can last normal grindfest till round 40 with lesser mana stuffs. Then i will use watever dropped potions during that grind for the next grindfest. You dun have to worry about lesser -> greater potions actually, they drop quite often(everyone arnd my lvl probably have hundreds of them in stock)

Currently, I'm level 28, using a rapier. Is there any use in starting to use a two-handed weapon? In the end, it would just be to raise proficiency and I don't really know how those work.
Same goes for armor. I'm using all heavy-armor right now, what would be the possible use of training other proficiencies as well?

If you ever plan to use Niten Ichiryu, you'll need 2H proficiency. If you get a hold of an awesome longsword with massive Bleed, those are fun/fast to grind with and 2H will make it even faster/better.Even though I'm primarily a 1HS user, I started training 2H and DW (almost capped both) because I want to be able to use any of the melee styles in case I need to. Like I'm gonna try a DW approach against a Legendary once I cap it, to see how it handles. As for armor, if you ever decide to slip in anything NOT heavy or to switch styles, it'll be helpful since proficiency improves the equipment's stats.

It works. I've beaten all of my bosses/legendaries/godlies using DW. Of course, there are so many instances when using a Shield would have been better. Maybe I should borrow a shield from someone before fighting the IPU...

A question of curiosity: How many people here have any of the Dæmon Duality line of Hath Perks? (I have none.)

I can't imagine more then a handful of people even make enough Hath to get the first one without saving for an entire year. But I'd imagine if anyone had that perk it would be Sonic or Tens.
