So true, I'd like to see TenB implement a system where the more you grind in a day, the higher the rewards which resets daily and also a toplist that give out rewards for the hardest grinders like the other toplists.

I think the current system is putting pure grinders like me at a slight disadvantage.

I hate the current mentality that thinks that "you don't donate money, you don't give bandwidth, you're a leecher" as if we're some lower caste member and not welcome here.

That would encourage boting.

"you don't donate money, you don't give bandwidth, you don't give time, you're a leecher"

There a whole range of non-monetary, non-bandwidth options to contribute to the site:
1.) Doing some of the host of different bounties
2.) Uploading content
3.) Uploading torrents
4.) Running a store
5.) Selling to WTB threads (eg Noodly appendages)
6.) Reviewing galleries

There are a variety of strategies.

That's like saying rewarding high-scorers will results in people cheating in exams, therefore we should not reward them.

1) Not everyone is good or knows how to edit or translate. Just ask 10 random people you know.
2) Said content requires money to buy, and if money wasn't a problem, said people would have donated. And no, ripping content from other sites is bad.
3) I seed some stuff myself.
4) I sell what I have that is worthy of selling, and what I earn is really not that much because I haven't got good equips because I haven't got 24 lotd because I haven't got money.
5) This is due to kind people like Stony, having to depend on the good will of others to survive means something needs to change.
6) I do this for stuff which I think I'm qualified to review, as well as tag and expunge, but the gps doesn't seem much. And no, I refuse to spam the comments section with witty one-liners.

I don't give money, I don't give bandwidth (haven't enough as it is), therefore I am a Leech - and that's by choice. I don't begrudge the Catgirls who've donated large sums of real money to get whatever advantage they might have and by the same token I don't see anyone urging us Leeches to donate either. There are plenty of people who have succeeded in this game without donating money or bandwidth. It's not we who feel as if we are lower caste members, it's just you, it's a non issue for me.

The only reason for chiming in, as EsotericSatire has said, this is one of the ways to 'contribute' to the site. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I'm not begrudging anyone, I did not said anything about being forced to complain donate and since when did I claim to speak for anyone else?
There's no need to be hostile Mr. Zen.

I'm just saying that we should be a better opportunity to earn as much as catgirls or H@Hers from playing HV.

Though I'm a donator as well, the income advantage from donation is not that much. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)
Of course, I can't deny that it was very helpful when I was low level, escpecially its experience bonus.
But after 300 level, grinding can make you rich regardless of donation.
How much time do you spend "grinding"? I play 4~5 Hellfests on a weekday and 7~8 Hellfests on weekend. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)
The income from 8 Hellfests with Crys3 is 100 times more than single Gold Star's daily income from donation.

I do all the arenas except for schoolgirls as advised (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

So how much did you do before 300?

Just a small note: to animeai, Paarfi and anyone else who read my earlier post and noticed I said I had platinum armor... Sorry about that, I was actually confused. It's just plate armor... I must have mixed them up because they both start with P. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

All the high arenas (At least Longest Journey+) except I can't even enter due to the level.
In other words,
225~249 lvl: All the high arenas except Eternal Darkness and DwD
250~299 lvl: All the high arenas except DwD
300~early-mid-330 lvl: All the high arenas including DwD
After mid-330 lvl: Hellfest + arenas except DwD. Sometimes DwD, too. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I have only one complaint about the donate, it is a bonus from a gold star:
+50% Health/Magic/Spirit Points regeneration
Half the monster morale and hunger drain rate

As far as I understand, these bonuses are counted separately and are added to the bonuses from perks and training, which means that they can not be obtained in other ways besides donate. (One day, I'll deal with Bitcoins and make myself a gold star (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif))

Yes, same with RR Hath perk which is 500 Hath worth. A good advantage indeed (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
But just 2 full day Hellfests (= 8 Hellfest, as I said to LOL50015 (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)) can make it. It's not hard one to gain after you get high level enough and spend time to grind.

Hey guys,

I'm just curious but why is the mana cost modifier so damn high? At my current level, I only have a base mana of 393. With all my gear and everything, my Magic points is sitting at 668. The problem that I'm wondering about, is why is my Mana Cost Modifier 148%?? That seems excessive no matter how I seem to look at it. I just realized that when I do a Random Encounter, I use up almost all my 668 Mana, just to fully buff for a fight. I use Protection, Regen, Heartseeker, Spark of Life and Haste... I mean wtf?? Why should it cost me almost my max mana to cast 5 spells to start an encounter (assuming I don't get any Channeling effects while casting those 5 spells).

Protection is 51 MP
Regen is 110 MP
Spark of Life is 66 MP
Heartseeker is 220 MP
Haste is 64 MP
Total is 511 MP

Is there a way to lower is modifier or to exponentially increase my magic pool? I'm a heavy armor user with a Rapier and shield, I play mainly like a Paladin type class, and this really high cost on such a small magic pool is heavy, and lowers my survivability by quite a bit for grindfests at Nintendo level. (which is what i like to do my normal encounters at, haven't really tried for Grindfest cuz of the heavy costs) I'd appreciate any advice to help with lowering this modifier (if any) or a way to increase my mana pool a bit beyond just increasing my wisdom.

*** turns out my mp costs r higher, I forgot when I looked at the costs, I had spirit stance on ***

It's only a 1-round Random Encounter. Feel free to spend the 1 mana potion among several that you packed along. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

For longer fight, cast mana intensive spells under the Spirit Stance's effect (mana cost lowered by 25%). Wait until Channeling procs to cast/refresh Heartseeker or any other buff. Also, consider getting levels of the Innate Arcana perk because it help you cast certain supportive spell automatically, with a reduced cost.
http://ehwiki.org/wiki/Spirit_Stance
https://e-hentai.org/hathperks.php

If you have Featherweight Shards lying around, enchant your heaviest (read: having highest burden/interference) pieces of armor with them.
http://ehwiki.org/wiki/The_Forge#Shards

Forgot to mention the Ability slotting system. Check to see if you have already had the Mana pool ability leveled and slotted or not. It makes up a good chunk of your MP pool, more as you leveling up.

I mean that RR and bonus from gold star work together and add up to 100% Health/Magic/Spirit Points regeneration. So if you do not donate you can not get more than 50% Health/Magic/Spirit Points regeneration bonus.

It's normal that about 150% mana cost modifier for heavy armor user.
1. Cast your high cost spells (escpecially Regen and Heartseeker) with spirit stance on as far as possible.
It will decrease the cost by 75%. (I also recommend to cast Heartseeker on Channeling)
But on Random Encounter, just use one mana potion. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

2. You should raise your WIS. I don't know your WIS, but I think STR = END >= DEX >= WIS > AGI > INT is good for heavy.

3. Raise supportive proficiency. High prof. means lower mana cost and longer duration. Same for Deprecating and other spell proficiency.

4. And the MOST IMPORTANT is, your LEVEL. You should reach at least 250~300 lvl.
Level solves almost the whole problems of low level users in HV. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)

You're right. But just one of them is enough for playing GF.
I think even none of them is required for most players who don't play GF. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Yay I finally cleared BT D&D after 2.5 hours T.T with 8 mana pot and 7 spirit pot. The last 40 rounds was a huge focus fest to get back my mana. Using focus with SpellSpam helps a lot.

Thanks to everyone who gave me suggestion on clearing. FRD turns out to be a disappointment T.T ... Meh gotta get OFC then

Okay, so basically get to level 250-300 asap. Most of the other info I've known for a while or been doing all along. I do appreciate the info none the less ^^

The featherweight shards I don't use/rely on because in all my leveling, I've only gotten 17 of them since level 1. So for an hour enchantment, I don't see a reason to use/rely on it.

My wisdom is 174, so I guess I should put more into that then. But my strength and VIT aren't too far ahead, their only at 243 so far lol. I wish we could reset all our exp to reallocate points we foolishly used in worthless stats lol.
