it sounds like 20 or so AP needed (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) after a long period with 2H i'm now using DW to gain a bit of prof: is it only my impression or DW prof actually augment faster than 2H? could it eventually be because i put those items away and now they're trying to show me that they're worthy of my trust? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) The rate at which a proficiency increases slows down as its base approaches your level. So if you've been using Two-handed for a long time and only just switched to Dual Wielding, your Dual Wielding proficiency will increase rapidly compared to your Two-handed proficiency.

(IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) The chance to gain prof with each hit is invertly proportional to your current prof level divided by your current level. So, yeah, the profs you neglected raise faster, basically. This post has been edited by Dan31: Jan 25 2014, 13:04

just curious, for a 2H light armor guy, how should i fill my Battle Item slots?
currently, i just bring 1 spirit & health potions, and everything else with mana potion. though, i'm constantly using cure for my last 10 rounds in Arena or IW. is there a better way to heal other than cure/regen/potions? ie is health siphoning any good?

a hyperbolic relation then... now it sounds clearer, thanks (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) QUOTE(n125 @ Jan 25 2014, 12:03) The rate at which a proficiency increases slows down as its base approaches your level. well, i tried my best to keep those two similar since i also use niten: at level 226 i've got 2H ~ 161 and DW ~ 155... still having plenty of space to increase both, and the difference is not relevant, but still DW keep growing more and more rapidly than 2H... Try using Spirit Shield for those last rounds. It should help elevate the need to heal somewhat. Using drain should help too, just don't rely on it as your primary heal. With max pack rat, I have 4 Spirit pots, and 11 Mana pots for default. The ratio changes depending on what type of battle i'm trying to do, and build. But otherwise, that should work well enough for most battles. I had no problem clearing my first BT DwD with 2H Mace + Shade with that battle item layout.

spirit shield will only consume spirit when an enemy hits you for 25-45+% of your HP i recently switched from "sparks of life" to "spirit shield". it basically take a bit Spirit off on big hits instead of a big chunk of HP. though, in some instance i'll use both. iirc, people recommend switching on lv250.

As far as I remember, there must be 100 2H proficiency for it to appear. Perhaps the system needs a little time to recognize that the conditions are met. There's something called 'rounding'. Check if you actually reach 100 2H prof at the character panel, not the sidebar.

Does that apply to mages? I still use spark of life as my def is pretty crap but I can heal off most damage.

I always thought that spirit shield is the base of protection for mages (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)
