1. How feasible is Niten+Shade in high difficulty Arenas & Schoolgirl marathons?

Don't think niten is very good for schoolgirls because of no penetrated armor. So it'll take a lot of hits to kill any schoolgirl.

Shade for schoolgirls is fine IMO, longer kill time than slaughter but much better survival vs their spirit attacks (resist and evade) so it depends on how fast you kill them (essentially how frequently you get hit by spirit attacks cuz you can't kill them fast enough).

Its probably pretty good for just grinding up lots of standard mobs so its good for all the other arenas.

Skyward Sword give PA, so you need to use it at the beginning of every round in SG arena.
100 OC + 10 turn cool down is sufficient to keep the SG always PAed.

1. i have no issues with iwbth arena, w/o even bothering to shard my elemental katana. You'll want a pretty good waki, my offhand is 100% and parry >50%. I don't really PFUDOR w/ shade except when using DW. Maybe i'll try it out later.

don't do schoolgirls though, tis not a good idea, skyward sword won't last long enough to do enough damage; Building OC requires not using stance, etc; you could imperil them but that's just adding work.

There are tradeoffs vs going power+niten. shade+niten gives me crazy action speed, so I get more PAed hits in. I can generally kill off all all the PAed trash mobs before PA expires, but you do a lot less damage (diff for me is 1100 damage) so it works out kinda the same in mobs taken down. With stance on, Power gets the edge (takes down strong mobs faster).

Don't bother w/ skyward sword til >=5 mobs.

According to your observations, at what level it is possible to clear the hellfest with light armor/mace?
And long-term goals: how much credits should I expect to spend on legendary ethereal mace of balance? will it be cheaper than magnificent ethereal mace of slaughter?

I bought mine in a shop for, I don't know, 600k? Someone PMed me to buy it back for a better price (800k? 1M?) right after, so I know that was a good deal.

How would you optimize my build?

The strategy is to use the counters from one-handed to fill my overcharge while I cast spells, then use the level 1 and 2 melee skills to control the crowd. Holy and ether drain saves you from potting. I don't have tier 3 light/dark or maxed imperil yet so keep those in mind.
Right now I am using rapier, tower, and full cloth.

Is there any particular reason you'd want to clear Grindfest? The only real reward for doing so seems to be 5k credits, which you could easily make much more quickly by clearing Arenas.

Just I see a lot of questions about clearing it and was wondering if it was for anything more than bragging rights...

It also provides a large number of Crystals, apparently.

You get back as much as a focus. Less if the enemy's mana bar is too low.
