One thing I noticed that nobody mentioned...

Switch your Club to your Primary hand. Having Stun proc more often will increase your survivability.

I'm sending you a piece of Shade armor I don't use anymore.

If you have cry 2, then why not getting cry 3?
However, i think you should upgrade your gears first.

So I'm still kinda new and trying to figure things out.

I'm doing a lot of reading but have bad luck with search results so I'm likely asking things that have been asked a million times already so I appreciate any help/advice.

I've got 2 trophies from Ring of Blood so would be nice to know so that I can decide what type of items to offer them to the Shrine for.

1.

At first I was 1H+Shield but I've been doing Dual Wield for a bit now and wondering if it's better to go back to 1H+Shield up to a certain level or keep doing what I'm doing.

I'm guessing that if you do 1H+Shield you go full Plate/Power.

For Dual Wield was thinking of Club of Balance for main-hand/accuracy and Rapier of Nimble for off-hand/parrying. Is Light/Shade the way to go or would I be better off with Plate/Power for Dual Wield?

------

2.

Stat suggestions? I currently have:

STR 55
DEX 50
AGI 45
END 55
INT 20
WIS 20

------

3.

I read somewhere that Item World isn't worth it until much later.

I currently have 3 weapons (was planning to Item World the ethereal ones to level 10 and then Main-hand the dagger and off-hand the shortsword):
Exquisite Tempestuous Shortsword of Balance
Superior Ethereal Dagger of Slaughter
Superior Ethereal Shortsword of Swiftness

I've been Item Worlding the 3rd one first. Is this a good idea or am I better off in Grindfest until I get better weapons?

Is there a difference in exp/credit/loot for Grindfest vs Item World?

Wall of text

1:
single target : 1H < DW
mobs: 1H (low level, low block) < DW < 1H (200+ level, 40+ block)

Most of the player prefer Heavy 1H (more power than plate) and light DW.
For DW, most players use slaughter (axe/club) on main hand and balance (rapier) on offhand.

2:
The only useless stat for melee is INT. WIS is useful, so do not make it too far behind.

3:
They are not worth IW.
In the old IW, IW give less exp than GF.
I haven't test the exp gain rate in the new IW so you need to wait for others to confirm it.

First off, it's much too early for you to think about levelling anything and secondly none of these weapons are worth investing any time or effort into levelling.

If you are going to DW, it should be a combination of slice/poke or slice/bash but not slice/slice. As for your armour, they should be Protection Leather until you have sufficient amount of HP and exp at which point, I would slowly transition to Shade.

It would be best for you to fight in as many RE as you possibly can and repeatedly doing the Arena runs at the highest difficulty settings to increase your level as quickly as possible. You won't derive all that much benefit from doing IW or the GF at your level.

I'll send you a couple of ethereal slice and poke training set to get you started. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

So in a way it'd be 1H+Shield for Arena/Grindfest and DW for Random Encounters/Ring of Blood?

I've only played DW from the beginning because it seemed to do the most damage. At lower levels there is no point in playing GF or IW, the drops and exp from either of them are much less than what you can get from the Arena or the RE.

At higher levels, IW and GF is good vehicle for increasing proficiencies quickly. Such as increasing Deprecating profs to enable certain spells.

Here's what the wiki says about Grindfest

QUOTE
Monster damage starts at 50%? base and increases by 1%? per round.

Does it mean that by the 1000th round, monsters will do 1050% damage? Crazy... O_o

Anyway, what would be more profitable (ie. netting more credits for same amount of time/stamina), running Hellfest or IWBTH IW?

It is something like that, the secret of completing grindfest is not about being able to do a lot of damage but about not being hit by the monsters.

Grindfest is always more profitable than IW on the same difficulty. But if you have a lot of free time to play HV doing IWBTH IW might be better (but I really mean a lot of time, something like 4-5 hours each day)

yeah grindfest actually is pretty profitable, when i was still at level 98 I took it on, didn't complete it but I got to floor 400 before I ran out of magic and potions. I plan to take on again once i max out shadow veil and get my new ethereal rapier to lvl 10.

So basically stacking evade/block is more efficient for grindfest than stacking pmi/mmi, is that right?

In my opinion, both PMI and other physical defenses (Evade/Block/Parry) are equally important. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
And some hath perks (Vigorous Vitality, Innate Arcana and Resplendent Regeneration) are also very helpful.

Once you have a good amount of PMI/MMI, getting more only saves you spirit, and only a little bit based on how spirit shield's spirit cost is calculated (linear with a upper cap). But both block and evade (and parry/resist) both reduces damage and saves you spirit*.

*this only applies when the damage taken is very high, such as high level grindfests or PFUDOR, at lower levels, PMI is better because there is less variance.

IMO, if you want to be able to clear Hellfest, you have to set yourself up so that you can get through 80% of the rounds without spending much resource (preferably not using a single pot).

To achieve that you need enough damage to get through the waves of mobs quickly for gem drops, enough defense (PMI, MMI, evade, block, parry, even resist as all are important) to let Regen heal you back fully by itself even if you get hit down to 50% HP by a few coincident skill hits, for example.
Use scrolls as substitutes for spells whenever possible because unlike potions, they are unlimited resource; I have developed the habit to keep Absorb up especially in later rounds.
Also, learn to focus wisely, if you see a lot of monsters with unfamiliar names, it's usually a good idea to bring down the ones with the highest starting SP first...

Edit: I was so close to clear Hellfest yesterday. Got to round 974 before I got careless with my keyboard smashing and ended up dead due to not healing after SoL is proc. Damn Nikaidou Sakina and its relentless skill usage. Up to that point I still had 2 spirit and 5 mana potions left. Gah. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

I remembered my question.

Does anyone know approximately how much it would cost to pay someone to IW a Legendary Staff with PXP of 350 to level 10. Also how many rounds would be likely to get level 5 conservation. One person told me around 10m off the top of their head but it would help if people could tell me the full formula, stores seem to be quoting 25-35 credits per exp.

Anyone knows if there is still a Bonus in Loot Quality for going deeper inside a GF?
Or would it be better to just use my ancient Power gear and play faster at earlier stages.

I am not that interested in Crystals so...

It may have bonus in loot quality in GF, but I feel nothing in Hellfest. Someone may need to test it in PFfest.

So everything's been fine for me and all and for a moderate period of time I was happy and comfortable and all.

But now I have some money problems, currently I earn 150k per day solely from grinding and I'm thinking of improving it, problem is to maintain such a high daily income it is costing me a lot of stamina and at this rate, I'll probably be <20 stamina in no time.

Do you think energy drink is worth it?
And after arena, which is more profitable, GF or IW?

My ultimate lifetime goal is to be able to earn 500k per day with a maximum 2 hours spent on grinding.

It should cap at round 100 if tenboro didn't change it.
