QUOTE(malkatmp @ Jan 2 2014, 07:20) is there a special trick in defeating "Triple Trio and The Tree" in the Ring of Blood? i taken out "Yggdrasil" the healing one first, but after 3 tires, still died after killing 5-6 of them.
after a while, it seems like there's a few monsters that can 1 hit kill me even on normal and i don't have that many "shield" or spirit to last that long.
Silence & Sleep are your friends. That and Stun. Honestly, I almost always leave Yggdrasil until last... I use Ethereal Mace. Used to keep Scroll of Life up (better chance of it going off than self-cast spell). Always keep Absorb up, if you can.

QUOTE(Valkrey @ Jan 2 2014, 18:11) Regen has never been slottable in IA
What is the idea behind this? It will be too "no brain" play style? QUOTE(malkatmp @ Jan 2 2014, 19:59) but i always thought Absorb is useless, no?
I also rarely use it, so I also wonder. This post has been edited by LazyShd: Jan 2 2014, 18:10

finally did it (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) thanks for everyone's advice. though, still didn't use absorb, but silence & sleep are quite useful. Used 2 Herotic Health Potions & 4 Great Mana Potions, and a lot of time hacking those monster's HP down. seriously, some of them have shit-ton of HP.

http://ehwiki.org/wiki/Spells#Supportive_Magichttp://ehwiki.org/wiki/scroll#ScrollsAbsorb negates the damage of (possibly multiple) spell when it procs and partially convert them to mana for you. Just remember that both spell and scroll versions' effects are permanent, but scroll has 100% to proc whereas spell's chance is only up to 90%. Also, you can't Absorb spells that are crits. A monster is shown to cast spell when it's action is "casts", NOT "uses", like this: Ushijima 1129 casts Shameless Copyright Claim, and hits you for 2988 dark damage In difficulties other than PFUDOR, monsters either use their spells too little or die too fast for Absorb to really be effective. You can still use Absorb when a Channeling pops up and no buff needs to be refreshed for some free mana I guess. ^thanks for the explanation.
but is there a reason to revisit Ring of Blood again? the token cost are pretty high and the rewards are pretty low, aside from 1000 credits & boss drops.

Save the Blood Tokens for the Flying Spaghetti Monster challenge. The titular monster once defeated drops a Noodly Appendage, which is a trophy with high (?) chance for quality equipment when shrined and can be sold for 55kC to a few WTB threads. After you have done all other challenges for the 1st clear bonuses of course. About Noodly Appendages: IMO you should sell them all away. The chance of getting something good from it is not worth the solid cash that could be swiftly converted from it. Only the super riches purchase them to shrine them. It shows that you are lenient with your pocket enough to spend around 2.7mC on gambling. In short, you are rich. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/duck.gif) Edit: Colman, do you remember how much damage (projected to your level, not base) that you got on your Axe 2 from 6 levels of physical damage upgrade? From wiki: The chance for a proficiency gain decreases as the proficiency approaches the cap.
Can anyone give some numbers? If a chance is much lower, I better play with 1H for some time, because my 2H is close to the cap.

It only matters if you know you're going to use both styles. I did a very small amount of 1h when I started, but never went back to it. Now I switch between 2h & DW... and my 2h still goes up even though I've got over 200 skill.

Not really, since proc gains increase by level until a certain point(the Cap)so it isn't really possible, even if you look in the wiki it gives ??? next to the equipment for maximum Proc. so its to hard to say what the cap is to give accurate numbers. basically you will know when you completely stop seeing the bold text in battle that you have capped.

But you don't have access to TT&T yet...

The Cap is always your own level. Your level goes up, then your cap too.

Admittedly, I was referring to: The Trio and the Tree
