It depends on what fighting style are you using. Personally, I only use imperil as melee.

QUOTE(SPoison @ Nov 7 2013, 02:12) I get some of those points but how is balance below warding? now that doesn't make sense to me.
Also, for those who have taken out loan, was it worth? What did you use it for?
Lots more magical skills and heavy armor is vulnerable to them. Now that warding has triple bonus, it is more useful That said, a good legendary balance piece can surpass a good exq slaughter piece. As for loans, personally I have used loans and they're definitely worth it(assuming that what you use them for will help with repayment) , along with renting at reasonable rates - I think the typical example of a loan that will pay off is hath loan to buy crystarium. Both the giver and the taker of the loan benefit (My first one was at about level 168 iirc just for that). While I have asked individually, others have done it through WTB forum.

QUOTE(SPoison @ Nov 7 2013, 00:41) This is more of a WTS question, but basically I always see power armor being sold, slaughter and protection, sometimes even warding, but never balance, do ppl find no value in selling or just want to keep that for themselves?
I have this feeling that Balance power armor were silently made harder to drop at some point in the past; Slaughter, on the other hand, became easier to drop... I hope you won't get assassinated by the powerful mathmagicians elites by saying this... (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

I would like to ask some experience players a question regarding hell + GF with 2H.
Currently, I can only clear hell GF barely with 1H. With 2H (estoc ), my defense is not high enough to last long (rounds 600 is my record with heavy estoc). I would like to know at what level of defense is required for hell + GF with estoc.
Thanks in advance.

Wait for level 250 to get 0 cool-down weaken to level. But short answer no, weaken does roughly the same and is cheaper.

QUOTE(nobody_xxx @ Nov 7 2013, 16:20) you need silence for DwD and RoB ( TTT and FSM ) (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Debatable, a must for lower levels though. Once your gear is good enough you can just rely on spirit shield and evade. To be fair I never even touch deprecating.

Only Imperil is worth using against FSM/TTT later on imo.

Finally i have learnt silence once my prof. get to 40.0. My gear is not good enough to survive high difficulty random encounter especially with more than 8 monsters. In my level CD of weaken is 2, i have to spam weak, sleep and silence in order to survive.
I am a 2H estoc heavy melee, usually do the following things in a random encounter with more than 8 monsters (difficulty BATTLETOAD)
protection -> regen -> heroic mana + hp potion -> haste -> spark of life -> weak-> silence -> sleep -> cure > fight
I have tried to do the supportive first, protection-> regen > haste >spark of life > potions but i usually get defeated at step 3 or 4.
Is there any suggestions of how to start a battle can be kindly advised? Like how to decide the order of spells when you are encountering 7~10 monsters.(difficulty BATTLETOAD or above)
Thanks.

Haste first is pretty good. Also doing spark early might be good for random encounter. It would probably activate right after, and you will have to heal, but cloak gives you some good damage reduction so you can cast some other spells. edit: just dont go casting heartseeker until you are completely sure you are ready (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) HS and Arcane Focus are extremely slow spells and you will get lots of attacks for doing those. Haste, Regen and Spirit shield are absolute musts.
After that it depends on your set, go shadow veil if you're light, protection first if you're heavy.
Spark only if you know you'll get killed, otherwise cast heartseeker/Arcane Focus and kill the weakest ones first.

@lwprbf When I was around your level I used to play as Light and do RE in IWBTH... casting buffs in that order: Haste -> Shadow Veil -> Protection -> Regen -> Spirit Shield -> Spark of Life -> Absorption -> Heartseeker Then Sleep and Silence on Mobs... Never had much problem with that... use cure between buffs when need... I think that works for Heavy too... maybe invert SV and Protection order... (cast Protection first)... However, with 2H Sleep is not very useful... mobs will wake up by domino strikes... (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) Btw, the most important advice is: Always begin with Haste and always cast SoL before Heartseeker/Arcane Focus... (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Edit: Wraithtouch & erwtsnert were faster than me...
