QUOTE(zen_zen @ Nov 1 2013, 13:21) 1. No
2. Don't know
3. Not high enough to make a difference.
4. Assuming you are DW, a Rapier and it's Penetrating Armour Proc will become vital to your survival at higher levels of difficulty.
5. Scrolls during battle, Infusions to enchant equipment before starting a fight.
1. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/cry.gif) my money (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/anime_cry.gif) 2. 3. So it caps at like 25%? Then this is kind of useless since it doesn't even siphon a lot of hp. 4. Okay, so maybe rapier main hand and wakizashi off-hand with full cloth protective gear for lots of heal spamming. 5. Oh, I actually meant permanent buffs, but I think the answer is no.

QUOTE(LOL50015 @ Nov 1 2013, 05:03) Oh, I see. Thanks for the reply.
Oh and:
1) Is depending purely on item drops for protective gear a viable option? I intend to invest only in weapons.
2) Under my defense tab, it says 27.5% Magical mitigation while under specific mitigation, fire is 0%. If I were to be attacked by a 100 dmg fire attack, would I receive 100 dmg or 72.5 dmg?
I checked with the wiki but the explanation there weren't clear.
3) For vampiric weapons, what is the highest siphon health chance possible?
4) Is it viable to invest in only 1 damage type (slashing) with the thought that with high enough damage, even if the monster is resistant to slashing, I can still win the fight?
5) Is there any passive buffs that doesn't require mana?
2) You would take 72.5 dmg if hit by 100 magical fire attack and failed to resist. It would be 50% mitigated when you resisted once successfully, 75% for twice, 90% for 3 times. 5) There's no spell which does not cost mana. Temporary enchantments with shards and infusions could be done in the forge. Some abilities increase your stats, you can count it as "passive buff" Well... and you can check Hath perks (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) http://ehwiki.org/wiki/Hath_Perks

Good, I appreciate your effort spent on reading the wiki. 1. Usually not a viable option at your level. You can easily find some cheap equips at WTS which is much better than what you can get. 2. It really depends. http://ehwiki.org/wiki/DamageAttack from monsters have two variables: physical or magical, and specific type. All monsters normal attacks are physical, and their special attack (which use their MP/SP) can be physical (they 'use' the skill) or magical (they 'cast' the skill). Then it's the specific part. Most of the monsters have either crushing/slashing/piercing damage type for normal attack. Only elementals and FSM/IPU/Yggdrasil have some special damage type for normal attack. But for special attacks, it really depends on the specific monster. So back to your question: fire attack doesn't necessarily means it's magical. If it's from elementals' normal attack, then the physical mitigation applies. If it's special attack though, then it can be magical and the magical mitigation applies. Then if you have 27.5% Magical mitigation, you're going to be dealt 72.5 dmg. Assuming you also have 20% fire mitigation, you're going to be dealt 58 damage. 3. It's 25%. Though yes, the only siphon weapon that's remotely useful at this point is Illithid. 4. Cloth armor's usually for mages, and light/heavy armor for melees. Most melees turn to void weapons eventually cause it ignores the crushing/slashing/piercing mitigation and is more useful. 5. There's no permanent buff which doesn't require mana, but you can always purchase some auto-cast perks to make your life easier.

Oh, I actually meant permanent buffs, but I think the answer is no. Go to Wolfgirl's free shop, read the instructions on how to ask for free equipments and ask away. You should be able to equip yourself quite adequately for the next near future. Cloth gear are for Magi, for melee it's Leather or Shade (Light), Plate or Power (Heavy). If you opt for light armour, I'd recommend that you look for Protection Suffix Leather for maximum survivability.

WTS....I actually find it a hassle to have to shift though that mountain of threads and text.
I wish there was a marketplace that works like the equipment shop except that funds go into seller's pocket rather than the bot.

Use search function. Type what you'd like to buy, and if the thread showed up doesn't have it at the first page, you move on to the other thread. If nothing show up, you can always open a wtb thread. For your level, You can go to wolfgirl's or arialinnoc's thread. They have free gears that's useful up to lvl 250. Most only useful to lvl 150 though... == QUOTE(LOL50015 @ Nov 1 2013, 08:43) I wish there was a marketplace that works like the equipment shop except that funds go into seller's pocket rather than the bot.
Auction. But I guess you won't have enough credit to participate (yet) if you don't run H@H.

A weapon is at level 7 with 4 Fatality, 1 Overpower and 2 Swift Strike. What is the chance of the next two levels not being Fatality? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif)

(IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif) Almost assured. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) When my staff was at level 5 or 6 it had level 4 Economizer. Guess what potency I didn't get before I had to stop leveling it.

LOL I have trouble naming my monster, what symbols can I use?
I wanted to put an ' but invalid so I tried to substitute it with " . , ` ~ but they are all invalid, these aren't special reserve key for coding or mathematical operators, why can't I use them?

Hyphen is one of the few you can use, and there are certain limits on that one. http://ehwiki.org/wiki/Monster_Lab#NamingThis post has been edited by varst: Nov 1 2013, 13:55

Seriously, nobody really cares the name/type of a monster unless it has high PL and is almost fully chaosed.

you can change the name at any time until your monster reaches PL250 so don't worry and just make one.

I'm pissed with the lack of originality in the latest monster names. Remmember this is a porn site, here are some monster name ideas: - long tonged frog
- raper reaper
- not so frozen mammoth
- dubious sales consultant
- handsome wight
- castrated dragon
- starfleet pleasure drone
- marketing meerkat
- crazy hermit
- gangbang slime
- giant gay bear
- popeye the sailor moon
- squarepant female sponge
Playing HV is more pleasurable when the monsters you face have funny names.
