how do you survive as a mage? i find it's very hard to stay alive when facing 6+ monsters and when they have mp and sp spells. There is no cloth armor that + endurance too.

I don't mage but from my understand mage is all about evading and killing them before they can hurt you.

I think I heard mages would just one shot anymonster anyway so there wouldn't really be a need for defensive stats, but if you are talking about IWTBH difficulty or above then I say put your SoL and SS on, I mean even melees at your level have difficulty playing smoothly and safely with PFUDOR difficulty.

Edit: sum it up simply - You need more dmg to survive as a mage = more expensive gear sets = many tens of millions of credits needed

ah also, how do you know it's a good gear, i saw people in wtb/wts talk about equipment's stat differences thing.. where do you get the addon that calculate the stats+ for you? (for example: + max evade, max int, perfect..)

On low difficulty you just blast them with 1-2 spells, but on high difficulty most of rounds start with doing debuffs for me. Silence and weaken for surviving, then imperil for quicker damage.

many experts tell me that becoming mage is expensive.

Last auction that I bid through had a leg phase robe(if I remember correctly) of heimdall (one of the holy mage gear set) and someone won it 7mC.

That's if you buy things. If you play long enough, you'll eventually get a reasonably good set without having to pay anything.

Also, people really put too much value into Leg+ gear. I use a mostly Exquisites for my Holy set (recently replaced one for a Mag that dropped) and it's enough to get me through IWBTH Arenas minus marathons (no upgrades either). Bigger issue is how much time and attention I want to spend going though stuff.
