QUOTE so my assumption was +1 Crystal for every "drop" I.E. 1x becomes 2x crystal 2x becomes 3x crystal 3x becomes 4x crystal...
so I kept saying ah its not worth it...
but then I find out: 1x becomes 2x 2x becomes 4x 3x becomes 6x
mad.gif mad.gif Are you sure it is the opposite ? To my mind the latter option is more player-friendly than the first one, but I also have discovered that ambiguous description via empiric way (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif).

QUOTE(HNTI @ Oct 25 2013, 15:03) I had a little break since horrible nerf of mages aka path 0.76 and I have a few questions regarding maging ?
1) Meleeing vs maging : which allows clearing daily arena on higher levels (survival-wise) ? To give you some idea about my level of gear, I can hardly clear IW (magnificent piece of gear) at hard with my 2h + leather gear. 2) Is there any rotation for mages with these new cooldowns introduced with the previous patch ? From my observations spamming with t1 spell works the best as it's : cheap & has no cooldown + works almost like expensive t2 or t3 spells. 3) Which school of magic is the "best" ? By the best I mean money / effectiveness ratio - from your observations ? So far I play as a dark mage switching every now and then to 2h + leather.
1) All of the arenas can be completed on PFUDOR regardless of fighting style. 2) It's situational. You also have to remember that offensive spells have range now, so tier 1 spells hit the fewest number of targets. The change to the resist system in 0.77 means that the damage of spells can be decreased by at least 50% very easily, meaning that many times, tier 1s will barely scratch monsters. 3) Probably one of the elemental damage types, with fire and lightning being cheaper than cold and wind. Holy and dark still have all of the advantages they over elemental that they had in the past, but recently many holy and dark mages have become upset that those advantages are too small to any longer justify the higher MP cost of their spells. See how you feel in your fenrir set before you decide to make any drastic changes.

Everything goes for clears to be honest, but mage has always been the build to use for marathon runs. It allows relatively safe runs because you kill the enemies before they charge their mana and spirit bar, though depending on ping and gear, melee is just as fast. A lot of people playing hentaiverse simply can't reach the 4 turns/second needed to clear quickly with melee because of the distance to the server, maging is then the preferred method because of the lower amount of turns required, at the cost of more button pressing and thus a lower amount of turns per second. I believe people are still sticking to 1 element and not cycling, though you'd have to ask a mage on this one. People usually go for holy/dark for maximum clear speed, but elemental is cheapest ofcourse, the prices on elemental gear are almost always the same across the board.

(IMG:[ img.ctrlv.in] http://img.ctrlv.in/img/526afa329b887.png) Just made a powerleveling stamina efficiency (for 80+ sta) chart for the last 6 Arena Stages. Thought I'd share. Didn't double check, so don't expect it to be perfect. Round Compositions taken from HVWiki.

Ty for reply - I will give mace 2H a shot for IWBTH hourlies. Battletoads is no problem, but that jump to IWBTH sometimes means big spikes when there are 6+ monsters. When you said to wear leather, it doesn't seem like leather gives that much more protection as physical/magic mitigation goes up, but evade goes down. Am I just looking at poopy leather? Example of my shade is http://hentaiverse.org/pages/showequip.php...;key=fd218cadf1 (provided by very nice player (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/happy.gif))

I would have bought it looong ago...

You are correct--most mages stick to Imperil and one damage type rather than relying on explosion damage by cycling through two or more damage types. Although "rotation" as HNTI probably refers to rotation among spell tiers in the same element.

Since I just got the interest in raising a pet, I'm curious. Which pet would you recommend I get? It seems the Giant might be the best (I find it the most annoying to kill), but I'd like other people's opinions.

^ yup, Giants gets the most wins/kills at mid level and are good overall even in low level as well. Celestials and Dragons are probably the most annoying ones on high level (you must have encountered Celestial Lindwurm and Rain Lindwurm by now)

QUOTE(letmegitdat @ Oct 26 2013, 08:13) Ok, I'm kinda pissed so I'm just venting, so bear with me... So I just bit the bullet and bought Crystarium I... because of the wording/description: "Whenever a monster drops a crystal in the HentaiVerse you will receive an additional bonus crystal." so my assumption was +1 Crystal for every "drop" I.E. 1x becomes 2x crystal 2x becomes 3x crystal 3x becomes 4x crystal... so I kept saying ah its not worth it... but then I find out: 1x becomes 2x 2x becomes 4x 3x becomes 6x (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) shouldn't it be "Whenever a crystal drops in the HentaiVerse you will receive an additional bonus crystal." Didn't you ever see x15 crystals drop in screenshots?

Got a question. Katanas don't ever get the battlecaster suffix, right? I know wakizashis do on occasion, but I wasn't sure about katanas.

Equipment ranges page's doesn't suggest katana drop with battlecaster suffix (yet). But you just opened your wtb thread, why don't you wait? Who knows...

And maybe your stat. See if we can suggest if IWBTH is too much for you. (It shouldn't be though, if you have adequate weapon and armors)

They don't. They also don't drop in draining proc, so you should only get either balance or slaughter. http://ehwiki.org/wiki/Equipment_Suffixes

I didn't make the WTB for it, someone else did. *points at the obvious difference in the individuals' names* QUOTE(varst @ Oct 26 2013, 00:30) They don't.
