QUOTE(Kagoromo @ Oct 21 2013, 20:35) I used to wear full plates so I thought I needed Balance to compensate for the lack of bonus attack accuracy that power would have offered. It's kinda redundant now though; 1H already has Overwhelming Strikes proc which add a flat 50% accuracy bonus so we should only need to reach 150% accuracy in order to bypass mobs' evasion. 1H is quite nice in that aspect: Once we have a few OverStrikes stacks up, the dreaded parry upgrade of high level mobs become nonfactor. Since 0.77 stunned mobs also can't parry anymore, which is just icing on the cake. I'm still keeping my eyes out for auctions to find a new upgrade to my rapier, but I don't feel any more compelled to replace it than other parts of my set. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I got my rapier from an auction of T_Starrk. There was another Ethereal Balance, but it was maxed and had a bunch of forging too, so I did not envision me winning that (and indeed, it went for 2.75mC (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) ). Instead I went for the second best option there, the Mag Shocking Rapier of Balance. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) I see How much would mag eth rapi of slaughter cost?? If it's too high I might just max my rapier level, obviously I wont be able to afford 2.75mC (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) I dont put non-ethereal weapons into consideration ^^ QUOTE(habbababba31 @ Oct 21 2013, 20:44) How does that have 103 pxp at level 0? It should have 200 rounds for IW... Does reforging leave some PXP left over or something?
every time you upgrade it give the item some exp without having to clear the IW (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Looking for some build advice for this elemental mage build. Basically survivability (seriously, dying in Arenas on Battletoads difficulty in one shot while I have Protection, Haste, Regen AND Weaken active on my single opponent? Not cool).
Also, elemental proficiency flatly refusing to proc, given that I only ever use my staff to build up overcharge for Spirit Stance. How do I get around this?

Lol did you face a school girl monster? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) I dont play mage but I can advice you that you would want to play melee until about level 200 or have a really good set of equipment. wait for experts to come, they will gladly help you out if they can (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

QUOTE(Kagoromo @ Oct 20 2013, 18:07) As I kind of expected, lol. Well, that means I'm not going to part with my heavy set anytime soon, even though light's ability to resist spells is indeed very attractive. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Speaking of resist, can spells that are crit be resisted? IIRC Absorb only works with non crit spells so I wonder if resist is the same deal. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) Sorry for being late answer. Yes, a crit spell can be resisted, too. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Like this: 15 5 Van Darkholme Aniki casts TAKE IT BOY, and crits you for 1692 wind damage (50% resisted)

The question is--why are you trying to play arenas on Battletoads at level 88? You don't have the spells and equipment necessary to play on higher difficulties yet. I wouldn't recommend playing arenas on difficulties above Hell, if that. The only way to avoid one-hit kills for now is to use scrolls that grant the Spark of Life effect -- Scroll of Life and Scroll of the Gods -- but you'll burn through them rather quickly, so it will be costly. I'm not sure what you mean by "elemental proficiency refusing to proc". Elemental proficiency is a stat, not a proc. It slowly increases as you cast elemental spells. The closer your base elemental proficiency is to your character level, the more difficult it becomes to raise. Once it is equal to your character level, it will no longer increase until you level up. The same applies to every other proficiency.

Is This Thing worth upgrading or IWing? Also, should I play IW with highest difficulty possible or normal?

Oh, yes, it is worth IW-ing. But not forging. My argument: shadowdancer shade is rare, moreover the 4 PABs ones. However, it doesn't have cool enough stat to forge further. I have a magnificent shadowdancer helmet, but yours is still better.
You should play at highest difficulty you still think you can win. Why don't you just try it, starting with hard. Normal is easy, hard is where the surprise might spring by the few final rounds.
-- I actually want to talk something else.
@revsex, you got five token clearing one arena or 13 arenas? I only got three chaos tokens today and one blood token, clearing three arenas.
Anyway, is it raining precursor artifact again? I've got two artifacts already. Usually, even when I played all arenas, I only got 1 of 'em. And it's not always. Some days, I just feeling unlucky not getting any after all those multitude of turns and rounds.

I see, I don't want to play anything besides Phudor at the moment as I'm trying to level to 300 asap, so I'm keeping my stamina 80+. Should be able to reach it within 2 weeks

clarkiest: By clearing 14 arena, first page starting from fresh meat on normal and all in the second page on IWBTH except marathon. Klauser: usually i never get less than 9 tokens when i'm doing my daily routine, but today just unbelievable (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

What do you consider the most efficient daily program if one wants to stay above 80 stamina? Aside from the hourly battles, I do a daily run of the four arenas from New Wings to TatT, on Battletoads or IWBTH. Should I do the later ones?
I don't use Grindfest or IW for grinding purposes, I've heard they're not as effective as the arenas.

Just tested how good (or bad) is the Axe + force shield + full leather protection combination. My Axe and force shield are just some common junks. A test run have been conducted in IW on IWBTH. No heal have been used. Spirit stance all the way, it won't wear off as my overcharge is always 220+. But I need to use spirit pots. Average turn used is around 60. Not that slow IMO. A funny behavior is that even though my attack is low (around 3900), most (90%+) of the monster die before having level 5 bleeding. I think people who use power armor should not able to infect level 5 bleeding on 99% of the monsters. Here is my question, anyone got a cheap but good force shield for sell? Oversoul; AFAIK, difficulty doesn't affect tokens drop rate.
Capable; Try doing TT, End of Days and Eternal Darkness on IWBTH as your daily routine. With 2x or more Exp mutliplier you can leveling more fast and it takes less than 20 point of stamina to do it.

^I know that, but I was referring to the equipments. At the end of Arena, the chance of getting an equip is quite high, no?

@revsex Well, nine tokens is a lot for a single day. I wish that page 2 arenas have guaranteed token drop, but no, they don't.

@revsex: Thanks, but the part about less enemies overall (and therefore less drops) bothers me, does the drop quality make up for it? Or is the arena bonus significant enough that I'll get the same amount on average?
