A question to mages:
I've heard that mages always use Imperil to beat monsters. (of course on high difficulty) In case of some monster resist or the number of monsters is not 3, 6, 9, do mages usually cast another extra Imperil to have all the monsters gain the effect?

high lvl mages rarely come to this thread ( only n125 that frequently came here ) (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) 3 imperil, 1 tier3 magic , all done (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/duck.gif) you need alot of magic score to do this (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/duck.gif) @zanky you will be dead if you try to focus with mages when fight alot of mobs (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) This post has been edited by nobody_xxx: Oct 14 2013, 10:19

QUOTE(zanky @ Oct 14 2013, 15:15) how it can be really expensive?
and elemental mage useful? in what? grindfest?
Unlike melee player, who can choose to use leather/shade or plate/power, mage can only use phase of the same element, which is hard to collected by one self. It is the reason of their high price. Elemental is become useful because holy/dark is weak in the current version. Besides, mage mostly cannot withstand the slow killing speed of melee making them switched from holy/dark to element but not melee.

We (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) who donate, adopt a server, run H@H and ads on g.e gallery @nobody_xxx i still think holy dark mage is better. I wonder why they got nerf in this patch (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) I dont really understand. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) isn't holy dark mage can become awesome in marathons? This post has been edited by zanky: Oct 14 2013, 10:35

A lot of monsters are very weak, because their PL is low and/or they have little to no Chaos Upgrades -- these monsters do not require Imperil, even if they are naturally resistant to your damage type. However, because there are a lot of different monsters that you can encounter, it can be difficult or inconvenient to keep track of which monsters need Imperil and which don't, so it's just easier to not think about it and cast Imperil on everything. If I notice that a Fibre or an I Fear monster, or a monster whose name I don't immediately recognize, resisted an Imperil, I'm not going to bother trying to recast it.

QUOTE(nobody_xxx @ Oct 14 2013, 15:49) i don't think that phase can reach 200k since it low EDB for that robe and shoes (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) INT PAB in that robe is exq max (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) mages buying phase usually see how high EDB , prefix , than other stats (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif) that rapier lack 1 most important stat for rapier , PA turns (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) other stats is good enough even though it not ethereal (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I haven't bought phase since HV 0.76 so I may be wrong. When I was buying new phase. I first calculate the actual damage change (magic score) of replacing that piece of gear. The second important stat is evade, including the evade from agi. Because mage will be one shoted every few rounds in gridfest. A high evade can reduce the SP consumption and allow me to go deeper. FYI, sometimes I choose a phase with lower damage and higher evade. Holy/dark require more mp with similar damage output (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) . If imperil is consider, elemental is much better than holy/dark. just wondering , how high your magic score N125 (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) @colman i just see auction , mag+ phase with nearly same stats but different prefix can be bid differently (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) frugal and radiant is the most expensive (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) This post has been edited by nobody_xxx: Oct 14 2013, 10:35
