So you're using 1HS, but you can try 2W, if you can take the damage, it actually be better (less turns= less time and less MP spent)

My DW prof is embarrassingly low and I don't think I can take the damage, but then again I haven't tried the gods yet.

QUOTE(hyl @ Dec 12 2010, 00:05) *

Probably a stupid question of mine, but is there something that can prevent monsters from resisting my spells? I can pretty much kill any normal monster, most sub bosses with chain lighting on normal, but most of the time they survive my spells by resisting.

You gain 0.04 magic accuracy for every point of int and 0.025 magic accuracy for every point of wisdom, additional to 1/4th of your magic accuracy bonus from equipment, plus your 75 base magic accuracy you have from the start.

Edit: After reading the Equipment Numbers in wiki I was wondering by how much "of Slaughter" increases the Attack Damage Modifier of weapons. From the data provided there it seems to be between 1.5x and 2.0x, but I have no idea whether it is different for every weapon type and what to make of it, since there isn't even separate data listed for slaughter/non-slaughter for all weapon types.

Anybody been delving into this earlier?

Maybe a stupid question:

Why Thunderstorm and not some other tier 1 spell like Snowstorm?

maybe because there are only 2 normal monsters that have resistance to lighting instead of 3 who are resistant to cold?

edit: well that's my reason for using it.

The formula for received damage is like follows:

[(Original Damage Roll - Absorption)*(1- Mitigation)*(1- Specific damage type Mitigation)]= Damage taken

So you can do the math yourself. The answer depends on how big the hits are which you are receiving. If your absorption absorbs more damage than your mitigation mitigates, then absorption is the better choice. If the hits are very high, then mitigation gradually becomes more effective.

Example:
100 hit with 5 absorption: You receive 100-5=95 damage. The damage is reduced by 5% (5 of 100).

100 hit with 5% mitigation: You receive 100*(1-0.05)=95 damage. The damage is reduced by 5% (100-95=5, 5 of 100=5%).

1000 hit with 5 absorption: You receive 1000-5=995 damage. The damage is reduced by 0.5% (5 of 1000=0.5%).

1000 hit with 5% mitigation: You receive 1000*(1-0.05)=950 damage. The damage is reduced by 5% (1000-950=50, 50 of 1000=5%).

Scavenger increases your chance that something will drop.
More chances that something will drop = more chances to get artifacts/equips.

I think the current rate*0.95 isn't a bad business for both seller and buyer.

Don't know I'm not looking it, but IMO I think you or anyone shouldn't use the bounty system for this, because people will abuse it.

when you set "auto" on scroll/infusion, they are autocasted and restocked once effects finish, or you decide when to use it and ince used they restock if you have another one?

to kinda clarify what hyl said, they restock mid fight but you have to use it each time.

I was wondering, haste vs shadow veil for a mage build which is better? I went shadow veil cause there are scrolls for haste, but I don't usually use them for grinding.
Also do most mages just focus on 1 element?

There are scrolls for SV, too (Scroll of Shadows). Haste is good until it stops working. SV is useful if you can't 1- or 2-shot an entire mob.

The Elec tree is the bread and butter for spellcasters, but its best to have at least one of every element.

this is the problem with low level players wanting to buy and use really high level equipment.

while really high level equipment might be good because you do not have to bother leveling it up for like 200 levels, you have to suffer under the relatively high burden and interferance that those really high level equipment gives.

just change all those level 200+ equipment to something that is level 100+ and you will do just fine.
