what do you things is really good Absorption/Mitigation +15 +20 / +5% ?
The
formula for received damage is like follows:
[(Original Damage Roll - Absorption)*(1- Mitigation)*(1- Specific damage type Mitigation)]= Damage taken
So you can do the math yourself. The answer depends on how big the hits are which you are receiving. If your absorption absorbs more damage than your mitigation mitigates, then absorption is the better choice. If the hits are very high, then mitigation gradually becomes more effective.
Example:
100 hit with 5 absorption: You receive 100-5=95 damage. The damage is reduced by 5% (5 of 100).
100 hit with 5% mitigation: You receive 100*(1-0.05)=95 damage. The damage is reduced by 5% (100-95=5, 5 of 100=5%).
1000 hit with 5 absorption: You receive 1000-5=995 damage. The damage is reduced by 0.5% (5 of 1000=0.5%).
1000 hit with 5% mitigation: You receive 1000*(1-0.05)=950 damage. The damage is reduced by 5% (1000-950=50, 50 of 1000=5%).
