QUOTE(nobody_xxx @ Sep 28 2013, 07:49) i really like this new resist system (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) one thing for sure , negation price will increase (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) I couldn't figure out what I was seeing last night in the M2, that I had resisted 50% of damage or something like that (I was trying hard to not fall asleep). Good, I can get some c back from all those negation armours I have. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

@ clarkiest : Thanks for your input. Well I don't have huge amount of credits since most are spend on trainings and other stuffs. Normal players like us don't earn huge amount that easily compared to gold star and cat girls. @ nobody_xxx : 7500 base damage ??? lol seems like dream from my current position (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) @ zanky : Yeap with 2H (marathon) arenas are very slow that's for sure specially when bosses start to appear every round Guess DW and light is the only way to go in this new patch if I want to play highest difficulty

In fact, it is not. FYI, Gold star approximately give similar bonus as 10 minutes playing time per day (Asia player). European players can even get that amount by 2-3 minutes. What make the real different is the H@H and/or adopt servers, that make a lot of hath per day.

@xcaliber9999 well if you already use heavy, why not start 1H? actually 1H also good. but must combine with Heavy to unleash it full potential. DW light will be better at crit and more speedy, DW heavy will be more high damage
and yeah like coolman said. I also agree. (just in term of H@H and adopt server|i'm not really know about gold star)
this is info for melee. btw, i'll also want to make comment about spike. I just use wind which can increase miss change. then i'll say fire is better. at least for me. I'm a melee light. and fire spike help me reduce monster attack. It'll help a lot if you just want to hit and slash everything without cast weaken. so I say to the one who i already forgoten (he ask which spike should he use or something) fire spike is best spike if you chose light melee.(because it work on me)

I guess it's always greener on the other side of the fence. I want to try 1H - practically spending all the fighting time in Spirit Stance seem ideal to me but I am going to do all of the Arena in DW light first (IWBTH). DW special skill exhausts the overcharge in 3 turns. sometimes without doing hardly any damage. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/mad.gif)

Indeed, I've been eyeing those combined evade and PMI numbers on shade and they just seem great... But then I have to remember myself that I don't even have trouble surviving with slaughter gear in the first place. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

I've just tried Storm Shield Spike for the first time in RE (had 6 100k+ HP monsters in a mob of 9). It seems to apply the monsters randomly but the duration was only 2 turns. It also seem to interfere with Weaken. I got through it barely, I must have applied cure and full cure 6 and 2 times. The worst part seems to be that the game slows down so noticeably, though it may have been a glitch in the network (the repair pony showed up).

spikes apply a very low damage every time you get attacked and there is also a chance of applying the proc. it doesn't interfere with weaken or anything else. the slow down has nothing to do with it.

Well to be honest I am not that interested in 1H but thanks for your input (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) QUOTE(Teresa of the Faint Smile @ Sep 28 2013, 23:49) its not a dream (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) useing prot power with iw slaughter axe (dont know for sure if he even use dual axe why ever or not dont care anyway (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/duck.gif) better would be with a nice balance rapier in offhand not a axe) you easly hit this much base dmg its not realy a secret. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/lurk.gif) Really ? I don't think you can get that much base damage without any sort of additional forging

I'm around your level, I can get 7150 base damage with my DW set without any IW or forging. I do have an amazing axe but a pretty bad rapier. We're still some levels behind a lot of the people who claim have ~7000+ base damage, and base damage increases as you level, so there's that.

You are right about the slowdown, I must have caught the tail end of the network problem mentioned in the news section when I tried it the first time.

My joke only caught one victim? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/mellow.gif) No, zen_zen, it's still impossible for me to do pfudor more than 20 rounds. And I'm also not gonna try it these days since the reward is still very low. -- I actually got problem with 2H, I can't blast through arena at Nightmare. But I guess I'll ask some advice after I figure out what caused the problem myself.

Even though it will always let atleast some damage through, you still take less damage on average due to the way the resist rolls work. This post has been edited by erwtsnert: Sep 29 2013, 03:08

Except the chance that you will eat the full damage of a magic attack has dropped a lot, which is the most important part. Regen and whatnot generally ensures that you will not die unless you get hit by a skill(s). Even 50% can turn an instant death attack into "hurts but bearable." On the flip side, because resist also applies to monsters, it's a nerf to mages. Also, Light has highest resist of the armor types, especially Shade (even without Negation). If nothing else, it's another buff to Light. This post has been edited by Cashino: Sep 29 2013, 03:36

Agreed. 10k credits isn't that much. You can do a few arenas and make up for that difference. H@H and adopt a server get some serious hath, though. That's how I'd expect it to be, though, since one time donation = small gift back. Continued support = much more significant gift back.

Um, not really. I'd say that since the strong point of heavy armor is to mitigate damage directly, that's when fire would be better. Wind (storm) gives an increase to the chance that monsters will miss, and therefore in my opinion would be best for a light armor player until around level 200 when it still won't bring monster's attack percent under 100%. After level 200 light armor has enough agility to start making attack speed even more of a bonus, so at that point it's probably ice spike which would benefit you most, to slow down attacks. Shock spikes will help if you have a problem with monsters evading because your accuracy is too low, no matter what armor you use, or if you have trouble with monsters resisting your spells such as weaken or silence. All in all, the difference only applies when it's on a monster, and therefore has a much lower impact, which is why many of the higher level players say that pick one that you like, and use it, until you get an elemental strike on your weapon, then use the one that decreases the resistance to that element (example: I have cold strike on my club (see signature) and should use flame spike to give me the most benefit) Edit: forgot the part about being resisted. Any math wiz around here (do those people read this thread...?) has some vague idea of how much parry/resist on average monster have on the PFUDOR diff? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) At first I thought that only certain type of monster (those with high DEX) and/or monster with very high PL got this crazy parry chance... But then I got parried 6 times in a row by a PL ~800 Dragonkin... (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

@solarhawk i got problem in term of damage. when go to PFUDOR, i'm not strong enough to take damage from monster. At least it happen now and because my equip also not really good. hmmm for me fire or ice spike will more help than using wind or storm. well, different ppl got different problem. btw ppl, just don't use fire like i talk about But use what you most needed. I am assuming that everyone agrees that now light is better than heavy. I have a few questions. I try to play PFUDOR whenever I can and know that heavy takes a beating compared to light but my question is this: Is light overall better than heavy or is it just better to its counterparts? Meaning Leather is better than Plate and Shade is better than Power?
Also, what is the main things that make heavy worse for this patch?
