Well I tried the Estoc and I was incredibly weaker compared to my Nito style.Maybe it fucked up my proficiencies I dunno.Everything I try is at least 50% weaker.With the Nito style I could start with the spirit stance and switch to the AOE mode later on when more monsters were up.It was flawless.
I have to try more styles I guess.

You don't have to give up Niten, and you can make it work. You need to keep up with proficiencies however, and that might be a tad hard at levels 0-200 simply because you steamroll through levels.

Play the style which you're comfortable with, if you want to Niten, that's fine, it's not a horrible style in any way.

is depreciating magic worth leveling up for a non-mage? the higher end abilities seem useful but its a real pain to train it when all i have is weaken and not enough mana to cast it forever

What is the minimum level required to clear Superior or Exquisite items?

I want to improve my 2h and DW proficiencies (they were down to 0 thanks to the NT style).Is the fastest way to spam the grindfest as a beginner?

hello, i'm new to the game. I want to build as a mage, i just got to lv50 but i can't add all of the elemental bonus ability, do i have to choose only one element and focusing on it? Or i simply have to wait till more slots are open and leveling all the elements? Forbidden and divine too?
Also, do i have to increasce my base str and dex? I mostly put points on int and wis, while some on agi and end.

I find Niten sacrifices future power for immediate power.

Hard to give an answer to be honest. I switched over to Niten when I could clear IWBTH arena challenges without problems. Your first priority should be to be able to actually clear on the higher difficulties, you can start lowering your clear times after.

2H is the more important proficiency out of the two though, DW is a nice bonus, but domino and the 2H damage add more damage than off-hand strike and crit. Niten doesn't really sacrifice future power, it just delays it. You can always just equip a DW or 2H set with ridiculously low damage and grind on IWBTH if you find your stats to be lacking.

I just end up keeping the proficiencies max...that probably isn't easy are your level but the higher you go the easier it is.

The amount of Spirit damage depends on the power of the blow that was absorbed, and is ???% of base spirit (reducible to ???% at max AP) for blows that would otherwise take off 100% or more health, linearly reducing to 0% of base spirit at exactly ???% damage.

Since the spirit tank is shallow, if all unabsorbed damage goes to spirit tank, won't the spirit exhausted quicker than using spark of life?

Spirit Shield in action:

7 6 Yui Die Fee casts shiijyun no zankoku, and crits you for 3299 fire damage
7 5 Your spirit shield absorbs 4810 points of damage from the attack into 63 points of spirit damage.

Even if I take a hit from Yuki's or FSM's spirit attack, which would kill me many times over and use 324 spirit points on a Spark of Life, it only uses ~130 spirit points with Spirit Shield active.

SoL to me is the last ditch effort to keep from dying but the SS is the true defensive shield that let's you fight on round after round. Only thing you have to remember is to keep the Spirit tank filled up and don't let it get below certain minimum amount. I've made two attempts to clear Eternal Darkness in IWBTH and I've failed both times due to my carelessness in keeping the spirit tank from going dry - I shouldn't play the marathon when I am tired. MY SS absorb 1106 damage and change it to 16 spirit damage.

but i'll tell all i know about what i know.
if you want to be elemental mage then don't increase divine and forbiden (chose betwend elemental mage or dark or holy mage) until you got high enough lvl and leftover AP.
for elemental, it's easier if you just focus on 1 element and look for equip, spike which can make you get more benefit from that.
if you got perfect memory (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) (well you can also use script) then it's better to use all elemental you got. because you got more advantage from that.
