Since ethereal weapons' void damage surpass defenses, is using Imperil in combination with them any useful or does it have no effect at all?

Ethereal only bypasses specific (Crushing, Slashing, Piercing) mitigation, imperil still has effect on the Physical mitigation, it also helps against any elemental strikes the ethereal weapon may have.

QUOTE(clarkiest @ Sep 22 2013, 18:19) I can't appraise shades armors, may anybody teach me? Lets use this as object of examination For shade, the main points of attention are ADB and Evade. The suffix stats are important aswell, but most of the time they're evade and crit. That one has everything less than supmax. Arcanist isn't the most popular or best piece of shade, but it's always better than negation. 50k isn't too bad for that piece, but I don't think it'd get much higher than that.

Why weapons of slaughter are so much popular? Because damage as I can see mostly comes from other sources than damage stat of weapon, but balance and nimble can easily double their respective strong stats. Also: what about comparison between non-leveled non-forged weapons: will slaughter still be the best?

Slaughter is almost always the best except for off-hand. You don't need 150+ accuracy, and nimble in main-hand is 7-8% extra at best. Since parry is multiplicative in nature, it's actually less than that. The drain suffixes simply suck, and battlecaster is for very niche sets. While damage sources also come from other pieces of equipment, weapons still give you the highest amount of damage per slot out of the 7 slots.
Slaughter adds up to 75-ish% extra base damage on some weapons, which is a lot. Power armors of slaughter give up to 30.78 base attack damage, the difference between 2 legendary axes with max rolls, One slaughter, one something else, is 24.76 base attack damage. That's not too far off what the best slaughter armor would give you.
It's also the best choice on non-leveled/forged weapons.

Shade players usually value good pmi rolls too (at least I do). A piece that's worth a lot will be fleet or shadowdancer suffix with all four PABs and high rolls on evade, pmi, and damage. These are the important stats. We all have our personal preferences though (I like pieces with high dex/agi rolls). Savage/agile/reinforced prefix can add a lot of value but if the core stats are fucked most high level players won't bother (prefixes are usually just a bonus). The highest level of arcanist and negation equips can be worth money too (basically legendary and above only though). Basically to appraise HV equips you need to know what a good and a bad roll are, it should be easier for people now that the base stats are displayed when you mouse over the stats on equip pop-ups.
Slaughter is the best because most people want offense. At my level I already get more than enough accuracy from my armor so balance isn't needed in the main-hand, and I have more than enough defense so nimble would just be overkill. Plus slaughter is just way more beneficial to forge. Have you ever seen a fully forged slaughter estoc? It adds a shitload of damage. Only time nimble is good imo is on wakis and the only time balance is good is on off-hand rapiers because it's the only suffix you can get 100% off-hand strike on.

About equipment procs: am I right that triggered equipment procs are tracked as a stack and not as individual instances, so adding one more proc resets the timer for the whole stack? E.g.: i have triggered bleeding wound for 4 turns on certain monster; 2 turns later i have triggered it one more time. After that it will persists for full 4 turns as bleeding woundx2 and then disappear at once. So with lucky rolls it is possible to have bleeding woundx5 even if duration of proc on your weapon is only 4 rurns, right?

You're right, the only proc that cannot be refreshed is stun.

Well PA and Bleed work the same, each time they proc it adds a stack and resets the timer. Once it gets to max stack (3x for PA, 5x for bleed) it just keep resetting the turns but stays on the max possible stacks. So once you are on 3x PA with 7 turn rapier it pretty much never runs out, because it will pretty much always proc before it runs out resetting it to 7 turns with 3x. Stun doesn't work this way, because perma-stun was deemed too OP so it cannot be refreshed. Once it procs it has to run out before you can re-proc it. This is why there's not a huge difference between 6 and 7 turn PA but there is between 3 and 4 turn stun. But if the PA or bleed on the weapon is four or less turns that's usually when you'll notice because with such a short duration it sometimes runs out before it refreshes which resets your stacks (which sucks against FSM and other legendary mobs). So, TTT on PFUDOR. How much more dead am I? I've cleared it on IWBTH, last time rather coolly, having used only 2 mana pots and one spirit pot after all sharding/infusions and shit.

Seriously? But what if you don't use aethers and only have 2 or 3 IAs, would a 21% MC BC weapon be better then? And why the fuck does Evil Scorpio swear by that goddamn battlecaster estoc? lol (he even took the illithid out of his WTB and now it's just BC). Hmmm... I would like to compare but I don't have a good BC estoc, only an illithid one. This post has been edited by T_Starrk: Sep 22 2013, 22:11

Spirit Stance(that you're in up to 75% of the time). And he already has illthid estoc. Calculate out how much mana you use per turn versus how much illthid saves.

Before I bid that, I was seeing evasion stat at 6.20. "Oh, shit! That's huge!" So I bid it. But once I received it, I realized I actually misread that. 6.20 is the PMI. "Oh, shit! That's small (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)" and the evade is only 4.37. Well, at least it is better than my other four shade breastplate. I see, ADB and Evade, huh? ---------------- QUOTE(T_Starrk @ Sep 22 2013, 19:34) Shade players usually value good pmi rolls too (at least I do). Does anyone seriously recommend using the Orbital Friendship Cannon as a major element in their fighting style?
I've only gotten 6 figurines, and I'm looking at them like a cash option more than superpower futures.
Or is there some other consideration I should take into account? Like is there reason to think they may stop dropping some time soon or whatever.

QUOTE(zen_zen @ Sep 21 2013, 19:49) Before or after, made no difference to me. I've never received anything higher than Superior and trolls at that. Better to sell the trophies instead - maybe Solarhawk should buy them. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Actually I got one more pair of glasses the next day, and another exq. Glasses just like me I guess. Now, all 3 of those exq (2 before and this one) were pretty much meh, but the mag was decent... not great, but at least it's got the appropriate specific damage mitigation for leather if you don't get protection. I haven't gotten any noodles etc to try, but yeah, glasses seem to like me recently, or snowflake thinks I look cute when I take off glasses. [ weknowmemes.com] Snowflake may like this meme... Oh, and before you ask, yes, I do have glasses (which I normally don't wear).

QUOTE(Pucy @ Sep 21 2013, 20:42) Just out of curiosity has anyone gotten a peerless drop yet?
Over in the release notes thread someone mentioned that someone got a peerless. I didn't see a link to it, though. Also, yes, they do exist, I know that much.
