@zen_zen, Interesting question. I also want to know this.
My spamming of deprecating spells teaches me that spell can either connect or not. I think it's influenced by magic accuracy, which is low when I don't wear my arcanist shades. When they're connect, the duration also varied, but the difference was never stark. My casting of offensive spell, in the other hand, more dependent to mobs resistance. The difference between mobs that weak to certain elements versus mobs that fairly resistant was more significant than my intelligence stat.

Right now my Int is about 32 points below all other PA and I seem to be missing with Weaken more than before. It may all be psychological because I am casting Weaken more than before; I am starting to cast Weaken to cover the entire mob then start hacking away at the strongest to the weakest because it's more economical to cast Weaken than to cast Cure after taking damage from untouched monsters.

If I flee from arena/ring of blood does it mean I fail it? Or I will be able to resume at the stage I fled?

zen_zen: INT doesn't give magic accuracy. WIS and arcanist shade does. You need at least 500 WIS to stop failing to connect and 3000 to make monsters stop evading.

It means you run away. You can not resume where you left off. Same in Arena, Ring of Blood, Item World, and GrindFest.

How to use monster in battle? It supposed to help you or what? I create a monster, leveled him to 25 lvl and named him but I don't see any difference in battle. It doesn't attack nor uses skill and I can't find way to activate it in battle.

The monster lab allows the players to create custom monsters that any player can then encounter during battles.

Thanks for the info - I thought it was all psychological as well. Just did an IW run - since I am casting more I am failing to connect more but the ratio seem about the same as before.

So you create a monster only for others to fight it? I though it would fight alongside you in battle or something. What the point in creating a monster then? It doesn't help you nor gives you boosts in exp or attack.

Dejavu. This was asked and answered not too long ago.

That's primarily the reason why the wiki is promoted so much in this thread. There is a lot of redundancy and repetition in the questions asked - many of which have very simple answers to them.

I sometimes wonder if it would be better to close this thread and start a new one with a wiki link and an FAQ in the first reply. ... It probably wouldn't be read, though.
Anyway, monsters are for harassing other players and getting materials and bindings for forging.

Nah, I read wiki but still thought monster will do something better than scavenging. It's kinda shallow explanation of what monsters actually do in wiki. Only first sentence about it and then stats and skill staff for few pages.

What could be better than the chance of receiving Bindings of Slaughter that could easily be sold for more than 100k each?

So I've been playing as a mage and I was wondering if the choice of which element to buff matters that much? I've been buffing cold magic because I have 4/5 niflheim phase and a niflheim staff.
But I was wondering if for later what routes a lot of mages take? I know dark/holy magic is popular and I plan to dabble in that once I get to a higher level.
I know my level is low, I just want to be able to plan ahead a bit.

All elements except holy/dark are pretty even. it's just which type of monster you plan on killing. Some say Wind stands out because Konata is weak to it. There are no real specific advantages for every different element. They all do have a different proc thingy you get with spike shields too, but that shouldn't really be a deciding factor.

Yeah; once you put Imperil on everything, it really shouldn't matter which element you use. I think wind's advantage with Konata is a bit overstated. If you're capable of clearing IWBTH DwD, then whether or not you can kill one of the four schoolgirls quickly shouldn't make a difference. If anything, wind and ice are the dumb choices now because everyone seems to be flocking to them, driving up the value of Freyr and Niflheim equipment.
