QUOTE(clarkiest @ Aug 17 2013, 10:49) (1) Any master have 1H as primary fighting style? Or even DW? (2) Any master just push on with superior equipment? Or only with 2 or less PAB?
My first question is there because the counter attact from 1H/Shield is just rare, although I'm wearing shield and shielding armor. And I'm concerned DW won't survive against 10 monster. It got no stun and it's damage can only affect single target.
My second question is about price. Just why magnificent/legendary or 4 PAB just too damn expensive. In bazaar, they don't have that far selling price (and buying price since it's just about 4 to 5 times selling price).
I never use 1H. I belive offence is better defense so i prefer quick kill. I use DW on earlier lvl. It's really suck because it only hit 1 monster. But After leveling it up to lvl 100 on DW proc, you will got skill frenzied blow.It tier 3 skill.and it hit up to 5 monster. If you patienly leveling up DW.It will help a lot. because 1H weapon got high parry bonus. So if you play DW you will got parry bonus from both left and right weapon. Compare to DW, 2H got domino strike. It will hit up to 5 enemy look this for more info http://ehwiki.org/wiki/Fighting_Styles#Two-HandedThe problem is DW required more time to finish all enemy than using 2H. But DW got more bonus stat than 2H. This post has been edited by zanky: Aug 17 2013, 06:14

But DW got more bonus stat than 2H. I've used DW since about level 60. I started out with 2H because the damage on the weapon was higher, and I didn't know better. Not that DW is better than 2H, but it's a situational thing. DW gets a damage penalty for your offhand (you'll do only half damage with that weapon), but you also get a 50% bonus to parry. So if your weapon has 10% parry on it, you'll gain 15% parry from it being in your offhand. If your weapon has 22% parry, your parry will increase by 33%. These weapons do exist, too. ExampleSmall correction to domino strike: it can hit up to 6 additional enemies, for a total of 7 enemies hit. You'll be restricted by your proficiency here. Anyways, it's something you'll want to decide on based on the situation. I know there have been a couple 1H high level players mentioned elsewhere, but I can't shine a light on it's benefits and drawbacks personally. I'm not a master by any stretch of the word, but I still have 3 Superior items. One of my weapons (offhand), and 2 pieces of armor. The rest is only exquisite, and I have one magnificent pair of boots which aren't bad, but I don't use them on my primary equipment set. As far as only having 2 PABs or even less... you really don't want to base it -only- on PABs, you should look at the equipment as a whole. Endurance is very important, and will make up for your piece of armor having lower physical mitigation (since endurance adds health as well as physical mitigation and a couple other things). Ideally, you want all 4 melee attributes, but you really can get by with items that only have for example, dex and end, or such. You can get these lower quality items for very cheap, or free. Wolfgirl and a couple others have freebie threads in the WTS forum. Don't feel bad about asking for some of the items they have.

QUOTE(treesloth16 @ Aug 17 2013, 06:44) Anyone know the magic score required to do DwD in 30min to 1hr?
QUOTE(n125 @ Aug 17 2013, 09:20) It's kind of difficult to gauge because I don't really see other mages publicly saying what their scores are anymore. And it's not just your equipment that matters, but your ping and how you actually play as well.
so what about the magic score required to clear DwD on BT safely?

Really, post the links to your equipments, I want to see how you are monopolizing Snowflake's blessings. Almost every equipment drops for myself, might have been useful 50 levels ago and the gap seems to be widening even more as I progress.

Well, at least it dropped for him, right? Highest drops I've gotten were Exquisites - I keep thinking I should buy LotD more (5 so far), but it's probably more economical to buy the equipments at an auction instead.

Random Mag this was the best drop I've gotten so far, and from a sapling, where LoTD doesn't make any difference. It does happen, just not very commonly. At least it's useful... no GLARING drawbacks. Still, I'd slap a baby for that axe.

From a sapling - I didn't see any buyer in WTB for the one I had and offered it to Snowflake - got a miserable Superior ShortSword of Balance. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) I won't deny that it's a good axe but other than the slightly elevated numbers, it's basically an Exquisite in Legendary clothing. It would still fetch a fair premium at an auction, it has two very desirable words in it's title; Legendary and Ethereal.

@zanky you should really consider getting an estoc or at least an ethereal mace. longswords in general are trash, even mags especially of balance
no offence meant

Agreed here. I got this Longsword for 30k, which really isn't much, especially for an ethereal of slaughter. I grabbed it because it was cheap and will be effective for proficiency gains... moderate damage because I don't want to kill them TOO fast but also don't want to die of boredom while doing it.

Grandmasters,
First I want to thank you for your precious time. Secondly, I am level 66: Strength 32 Dexterity 31 Agility 68 Endurance 67 Intelligence 71 Wisdom 66
And I play on Hell 90% of the time. I enjoy playing the role of a sorcerer but I have begun to wonder if it is more worthwhile/fun/easy to fight as a melee based warrior. Please let me know what you think. I think I am at a point where I could easily switch fighting style from magic to melee but I'd like to know if it would be beneficial. Thanks a million!

@rpb if I'm honest, mage is more fun with explosions and aoe, but melee is SOOO much easier. melee just gear up and point and click, profs will do most the rest also melee is much cheaper and easier to gear
