what i must doing right now?

Put some points into DEX and AGI, they aren't total dump stats. 100 points into each will add 4% Evade and Parry, which adds up. I've actually got all my stats equal, but that's because I maintain a melee set as well. Before I did that, I had INT highest, with WIS 2 below it, END and AGI 10 below WIS and STR/DEX 25 below WIS. You can tank STR now (back then it gave HP and PMI, it only gives mage SP now).

If you have access to Imperil, use and abuse it, it's Elemental mage's best debuff by far. If you don't have access to Imperil, get it, for it is absolutely necessary to play at high difficulty as an Elemental mage (or mage period after you start hitting the PL 1000+ guys).

Yes, that means at some point you're going to have to start throwing Weaken around. Rather a lot. Fortunately, prof builds fast at low profs. Unfortunately I have no idea where Imperil is unlocked. Once you get Imperil though, your Deprecating prof will go up quite quickly (it really is that good).

now my problem i still get in trouble when there are many mobs 5+
and i thought it would be fun to have a mage equ-set as well

how should i evolve? (Stats)

what weapons would be best and is light armor ok for 2H (they're all shade armor with at least attack Damage +40%)

To get an equipment link, hover your mouse cursor over a piece of equipment and press the 'c' key on your keyboard. A pop-up window with the equipment's stats should appear, and you should be able to grab the URL from that. Deprecating spells like Weaken or Sleep might help, but t

As for fighting style, you won't be able to switch back and forth between melee and mage for a long time because of AP limitations, so you'll need to decide on one paradigm for now.

Looking at your stats, your Agility needs to be higher; as a melee, the only stat you can let lag is Intelligence. Other than that, I don't see anything wrong. If you're having difficulty facing five or more monsters, it's probably either because your equipment is terrible, or because you're on Battletoads. Drop the difficulty down to something you can manage.

If you found a better one, throw it into bazaar. In the HV System, There is alway a better item.

It's a pretty bad mace except for the stun chance. Try to get a superior mace of slaughter atleast.

what is mean from "70?"

Imperil should be 30 deprecating prof, and silence is 40. Just spam mana pots worth of all the deprecating spells you have to train it.

It doesn't mean much, just ignore it.

The level column tells you which level you need to be for it to unlock and the prof column how much of that type of proficiency you need

Hey there. I'm a complete newbie who needs some help.

I can't seem to complete Item Quest for the Superior Demonic Mace of Illithid (Got to something like Round 60+/132 before running out of pots and getting screwed over even after I maximized the effectiveness of using Cure + Focus to continually heal HP + regenerate NP).

How do I go from here? Should I keep doing grindfests at Nintendo+ difficulty for quick level ups or should I work on trying item world some more?

For abilities so far, I've invested in tier 1 HP tank, tier 1 2H damage, and tier 1 for all the heavy armor slots. I've kept stats balanced based on what the wiki has said.

Oh, and I do plan on going Melee 2H in higher levels!

Just do the Random Encounters and Arena challenges. If you want to powerlevel, Grindfest on the highest difficulty you can easily clear. The first 200 or so levels are really just for learning the game, getting your proficiencies up and deciding which build you want to go with.

Reserve item world for when you can do IWBTH with ease.


As Nobody said, don't mix armor types, choose one type you want to use and stick to it, using only armor of one type gives you some bonuses. Get a full set as soon as you can since it'll boost your survivability by a lot. If you're going for a melee build, don't put a lot of points into Intelligence as its only use is boosting magic damage.

Not really, just cast some deprecating spells every time you fight monsters. Or wait until 0 turn cooldown weaken is unlocked at 250 and just spam it for a few minutes.

Weaken is the most spammable deprecating spell, grab all the Faster Weaken upgrades for it you can and go for it. Most of the experienced players already had significant prof from before 0.76, when it was easier to acquire. I remember finishing arenas (back when they auto-maxed HP/MP) and just dumping my MP pool into Weaken or Flame Spikes spam on the last mob. I really don't know how Tenboro expects low levels to get that first 30 points of prof, especially since Gossamer doesn't unlock spells apparently. If it did, you'd get most of the required prof from your staff.

A lot of people have some Deprecating for FSM, since in previous patches, your ability to land multiple debuffs depended on your Deprecating prof, and many FSM strategies for levels that lacked Spirit Shield revolved around keeping him Silenced, plus potentially Weaken, Imperil, and weapon procs.

Not really, just cast some deprecating spells every time you fight monsters. Or wait until 0 turn cooldown weaken is unlocked at 250 and just spam it for a few minutes.

You will go nuts getting to 250 as Elemental mage without Imperil. Absolutely nuts. By then, you'll be meeting with just absolutely dumb PL 1k+mobs with 60%+ resist, who just refuse to die without Imperil. He's just going to have to start working Weaken into the routine, most likely.
