Striker115 > First thing to do is train 2H up to 100 prof, to gain access to the maxed splash proc.
For the proc of the second hand, you should look for a good accuracy on your wakizashi, that's what gives you the bonuses in procing.
At low level I can only advise you to have good parry on your waki, and then after some good lvls put into play (200+ or so), you can try to look for a slaughter one.

For your stats, put more points into WIS, or else you won't have enough mp for magic use (and you use them a lot, for heal, self buffs and some debuff (mostly Imperil)).
My stats ranks like that from the highest to the lowest : STR > END > DEX/AGI/WIS > INT. There's only INT who's under my current lvl.

Tip of the hat to you for your perseverance, I know I couldn't do that. I am doing IW with a Superior SSword in Nintendo (only 115 rounds) but even this takes me about 3+ hours per round. Equipment drops are still somewhat on the mediocre side but the the Item drops are quite good.

Anyone know what the multiplier would be for doing IW in Nintendo, so that I can get a general idea of how much more of this self inflicted torture that I have to put myself through? (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Truthfully, it hasn't been all that bad, I am closing in on Lv5 and it's only been a little over a week doing 1 IW round per day. Although I suppose it will only get harder from this point on, eh?

@Marvin666: They are. Estoc and mace used to be tier 1 weapons along with longsword, with scythe as the only t2 weapon. Furthermore, even though scythe, mace and estoc are all t2 I find that scythes drop twice as often as estocs.

zen_zen: In truth, I have been described as fast in regards to that. In my heyday I was going at 2.5 minutes per 200 rounds - easy rounds, granted, so all I had to do was casting spells and under-200 had pretty much no monsters with resists + I live in Europe + mage was faster but less durable then, so don't expect to go as fast as I did.

Honestly, running IW service was better use of time than doing CF with no crystal perks, and it also allowed me to gain less exp, something I very much desired.

Levels up to 5 are the easy levels tough - for an equip with 270 PXP, they'd cost 2303 PXP, while the total would be little under 10k and final level would cost 2320 PXP(or so, roughly).

But in truth, I can't recommend you to IW it, since once you outgrow the shortsword you can't get the value of the effort you put in back just as you would be unable to do so on armors, so crystals instead of PXP could serve you better.

I know, it isn't for my use that I am doing this. It's simply for practice, trying to get used to playing long rounds. I'll play a few rounds with it once I am done then probably sell it to someone below Lv100 cheap to get him/her through to Godslayer level. Heck, if this effort pays for 1/4 or more of the IW service fee for the weapon that I am grooming as a replacement for my current primary, I'd be very happy with that.

I am using an older Lv10 Superior Axe as my primary and alternating between an Exquisite Rapier of Slaughter and Battlecaster (both Lv10) as my secondary depending on whether I play IW or Arena. One or both Rapiers, I'll keep with me for the next foreseeable future but I am grooming a replacement for the Axe. I would have preferred a Magnificent Ethereal Axe of Slaughter but any that seem suitable are expensive and/or hard to find, so I have settled for a Magnificent Fiery Axe of Slaughter instead and deal with the Burden/Interference when the time comes (I don't have much to deal with anyways). I think this elemental axe is a good candidate for IW but what do you all think of it's potential?

(which i have obtained long ago before 0.76) have magic damage increase. My old rapier of the battlecaster also had one. Now, when I look for equipment in shops, none of bucklers/rapiers of battlecaster increase magic damage.
So, my question is: are rapiers/bucklers of the battlecaste which have magic damage no longer drops, or they are just really rare?

They have mana conservation instead now. For quite some time now it's been like this, I think.

Only Cloth drops with +INT these days. Light used to have it, but it was removed in 0.76. And if you're in Cloth, may as well pick up a staff and mage properly.

Wow. Now i am beginning to understand why there were so much RAGE QUITS. It looks like using both melee and magick offensively is made even harder than it was. As well as everything else.

oh and another question, is mage the only one that can kill multiple enemies with one hit? I would like to know other styles that can kill multiple targets with a single hit and is that style better?
And which level do you think I will reach before i can download archives without any problem?

About multiple enemies - it's all in the wiki. Two-handed weapon may hit multiple enemies both with usual attack and with skills. Dual-wielding have a skill which hits multiple targets. And niten ichiryu is a somewhat like hybrid bereween 2h and dw (requires katana and wakizashi).

About downloading - if you will exchange right now all your creds for GP it will give abot 5mil GP. That's enogh for ~250 gb worth of downloads. Depending on your downloading behavior it may be enough for a long time.

DW too but only through Iris strike | Backstab | Frenzied Blows <- this one is a mob killer ! especially usefull in Spirit stance !

500k at lvl 100 is allot.
Just buy kGP with it, it's cheaper to download archives with it then credits.

And buy better gossamer then switch to phase when u have enough proficiency to use spells without gossamer.


Niten and 2H can kill multiple enemies with domino strike.
DW using T3 skill Frenzied Blows can kill a couple of enemies but patches nerfed it badly, it sucks now.

Does the system use effective proficiency or base proficiency for spells? When I was trying to unlock spells it seemed to go off base proficiency.

So is 2h better than mage in killing off enemies asap? I actually used all my credits on hath already :>

Why do you need so much Hath? No, why do you need Hath at all? Besides, if you did not spend it yet you can always change it back and only lose ~10%.

Whether you want an automatically casted spell, no ads on galleries or just want to become truly devoted to Snowflake, hath'll buy some nice things.

I take it that frenzied blows used to be a lot better?

50 Hath for IA? Screw that, I'll keep casting regen myself.

Only Haste, Shadow Veil, Protection, Spark of Life, and Spirit Shield can be used with IA anyway.
It also comes with upkeep reduction though, 10% per level in it
