INT can be lowered by a lot more if you ask me...

currently STR seems completely pointless for mages while INT is useless for WIS.

i am in the process of lowering my STR by a lot.

unless the character stats page is wrong, INT only provides magical damage and magical critical chance now. both of which are more or less useless for melee.

Is there any new information regarding the proficiency requirement for Arcane Focus available?
I'm at 100 supportive and my last unlocked spell was heartseeker.

I have a question. Generally, whats the best offhand to use? I'm using light armor. I've found various weapons with high parry, attack accuracy, damage and stats but I don't know what stat to go for. All I really know is that Parry chance is multiplied on the offhand by X, and that accuracy adds offhand proc chance.
Thanks in advance.

From what I've learned from reading the forums the best OH for DW is either a Rapier Of Balance or a Rapier of The Nimble. Perhaps one of the experts can give their opinion as I am by no means an expert. I did however purchase a Superior Ethereal Rapier Of Balance in the WTS forum which is working out well for me so far.

Higher levels most people look for balance for higher offhand strike chance and look for rapiers because of the PA chance. I personally love parry because it helps mitigate damage. With the buff to offhand strike chance, parry rapiers have the same chance as the previous patch balance rapiers. Good parry rapiers are also a shit ton cheaper than good balance ones so they are by no means something to be overlooked.

SP people, SP.

don't understand, explanation please...(IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

anyway, based on my understanding, INT and STR increases base SP as well but SoL and SS calculates their "cost" based on base SP so increasing INT and STR will not give you more SoL or SS.

haven't done any calculation yet but i believe the increase in SP regen is negligible unless the different between your STR and your INT is really really large.

feel free to prove me wrong... (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

You're never going to get a Nimble to the 50% AAB needed to hit 100% offhand strikes. Balance will continue to be superior offensively. Nimble can get you maybe 30% AAB once forged fully, which will hit 90% offhand. Equal to prepatch Balance, sure, but why not go for 100%? Also, with good enough Shade, you should have sufficient defenses that you don't need the extra parry from Nimble.

Increasing base SP is indeed pretty useless if all you do with it is Spark or SS, since they are indeed scaled to base SP (assuming SS didn't get changed in some wonky way).

However, Spirit Stance takes a set 1 SP per round, so for anyone who stances, more base SP is valuable. Any melee will stance to a greater or lesser extent (1H and Estoc most, but even Mace will want to be in stance when they fire off their skill chains if I'm not mistaken). Some mages use stance, others burn off the OC with Focus instead (I tend towards Focus, it gets me more MP/OC than any stance cast spell except AF).

Thanks alot for the information about the offhands. Can someone tell me how the equipment shop works? One time I found 100's of superior and exquisite items, tried to buy one worth the cash but after refreshing, ALL of those items were gone? Whats up with that? D:

Somebody bought them before you. At your level I'd rather use those credits for training though, unless the items were really too good to be on the shop.

Yeah. He was DW long before I started playing seriously and probably knows a lot more than me.

but why not go for 100%?

You're assuming that we all have the funds needed to get that good shade or balance rapier. I'm looking at his level and assuming he won't have enough credits.

Balance rapiers are infinitely more expensive than a good nimble ones. I can find a mag nimble rapier for around 500k whereas a good mag balance one goes into the millions. Besides at lower levels a nimble rapier can give you that boost of survivability needed while still being affordable. I'm at 84% offhand chance without forging and I can still get PA procs off regularly. I'll probably switch to balance but nimble isn't as bad as you seem to think it is.

I'm just saying a good nimble can be a viable option if you don't want to shell out for balance. They aren't completely shit and are pretty good.

I see people posting equipment's bonus stats like high PAB or high evade (with certain numbers)

Where can you see (or how do you calculate) an item's base stats and bonus stats?

Take my breastplate for example Exquisite Shade Breastplate of Negation

What are its base and bonus stats?
