What is a good monster PL range to aim for in order to have a reasonable chance at getting high-grade materials? Ever since 0.76, my PL500-600s have been returning mostly low- and mid-grades, which is annoying.

749 - Low-grade materials can no longer be gifts ^I'd say that's a good place to start...

i don't know about that. many people are complaining about not getting HG anymore so it's safe to say that the needed roll or HG was increased from 1250. it is possible that even the MG roll was tweaked with this patch since it's easier to increase monsters' PL now.

no. as a mage you have to go with cloth armor, phase 99% of the time (before this patch in some builds it was fine or even beneficial to throw in a gossamer piece, now i don't know), since more than half of your damage comes from the edb and stats you get from them. if you want to be tanky you can try to get as much juggernaut on your clothes as you can and maybe the hath perk, and also get phases with good evade. but mage is a glass cannon build, or at least it used to be. now it's just glass.

it's still a good bazaar fodder, since it's the only t2 left that can fetch much better credits than t1. you can always sell all drops you got except token.

about rare bindings from salvaging forged equip
does the 80% means: -if an equip has lv.5 of certain upgrade (with bindings involved), I will get 4 bindings or it can be lower? -if an equip has lv.5 of A upgrade and lv.5 of B upgrade (with bindings involved), I will get 4 A bindings and 4 B bindings or random number of them in total of 8 ?

So I just started experimenting with the forge after getting this and just realized what I was missing out on. Just 3 and base parry jumped up by 1%. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) I was wondering if this is worth forging/leveing. Or is this one better? Or should I just get a balance one? I know balance is preferred but with the ACC nerf I'm not sure if its worth it anymore, and the near max parry is tasty to say the least. I'm not rolling in funds though so I'd like a second opinion on this. Also I have a request. Could any DW with forged equips link their weapons so I know what to shoot for? Thanks in advance. I am currently using this club, but will eventually switch it to this one once I find some time to iw it (or find a better one). My offhand is this rapier.

That rapier... Looks so good. So much ACC even after the nerf. Also looks like it cost a fair bit to upgrade. Maybe I'll get lucky salvaging the massive amounts of terrible exq I have saved up. I'm guessing I should IW my equips too. Ugh its so tedious though.

(IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) First one has better parry and proc, the rest of the stats are better on the second one. Parry and proc are pretty much the two most important stats for an off-hand nimble rapier though, so it's pretty close actually. If you go to level the 4 PAB one you can get a butcher/swift strike which is definitely a bonus. I don't know. Try equipping each and see if there is a difference between the two that matters to you. I know the one with 4 PABs will give you better PMI and MMI too. Balance and slaughter are still the best rapiers, imo. Parry boost is okay if you really need the extra defense I guess. Balance was definitely hurt by the patch, but you'll still get 13-15% more of-hand strike with a good balance (more if you forge it all the way). You use to be able to get close to 90% off-hand with a fully forged one, now it's more like close to 80% at 50x forge with a max accuracy. Anyway, past level 300 PA still works the best, and proc'ing it fast and often is what matters to me. This post has been edited by T_Starrk: May 31 2013, 04:37

Since I'm heavy DW I probably don't need the extra MMI/PMI so I guess I'll stick with the better parry one for now and try to fine someone willing to trade/sell me a decent balance one then forge/upgrade that one. I do find myself wishing PA proced more often with the 18% PA one so I'm guessing more offhand strike chance would be better. Ughh, I was hoping for a lucky break. Well, as always your DW advice is appreciated.

Yeah, crit chance has been nerfed quite a bit too, especially for heavy since it doesn't have the crit bonus light has (I know I lost 13% crit too though). So proc percentage is a bit more important now as you can't count on constant crits as much as you use to, even with 50% crit and a 24%/7 turn forged balance my PA almost ran out a few times on schoolgirls so it must really suck with worse chances, lol. If I was heavy/dw I would get a couple awesome balance pieces to put in my set to up my crit a bunch. Now that skills can crit it is best if you get frenzied and backstab to crit as much as possible (they do shit damage on schoolgirls otherwise). So yeah, personally I think I like the higher parry one with 24% PA too. After they were both leveled it might change my mind though. This post has been edited by T_Starrk: May 31 2013, 05:20
