QUOTE(buktore @ May 28 2013, 06:11) I find 66.1 to be more than adequate for me in arena— I'm tempted to go even lower... (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif) Right now I use full shade with an estoc in arena which gives me 65.4% and it's more than enough (this is coupled with 51% evade though (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) ).

I think he (?) is asking for heavy melee. The speed bonus and evade for my plate set is drop to almost 0 (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/anime_cry.gif), so PMI of 70%- would require a lot of healing. edit: I found the light armor is pretty good in this patch, even with a mix of random leather. But I still cannot get the last HP/MP upgrade yet. This post has been edited by Colman: May 28 2013, 16:37

Couldn't resist telling about the awesomeness that is current shade/estoc (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) . Last level on HP/MP is 350, I was lucky enough to barely get it. So I've been running HaH on and off on my home connection for about 3.5 yrs now, and have built up a huge pool of Hath, even after buying all the gallery-related perks.
I'm just now getting back into playing HV after at least 2yrs (last I played there weren't even pets), and was wondering what of the reworked perks would be worth buying vs just buying gear with the Hath/credits from hath (I have over 6mil gp, but I'm saving those for gallery downloads).
I picked up one auto-cast slot but protection's mana drain seems worse than just healing more often, for one.

QUOTE(buktore @ May 28 2013, 07:27) Noted that the only actual buff to Light armor in this patch was a bit of speed buff— and Estoc actually got nerfed! (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) Shade PMI also got buffed because of the agility change. I gained about 3.5% PMI from my set (which has high agility rolls though).

subsequent IA reduces the total upkeep of your IA spells. i have IA3 with haste, SV and SoL on them. coupled with the 50% regen from Resplendent Regeneration, i still have net regen of 1 mp per turn.

@bobjoephil: yeah, the spells at your level are kind of weak and sparse. They'll get several times better both in length and strength. If you plan to melee, I recommend at least IA4 and resplendent regeneration. As for melee gears, try to pick up a 1 mil credit value(yes, I'm aware this is numerous magnitudes more expensive than DLing galleries) on each piece for starters. Also, character->trainings for all pack rat levels, and loot drop trainings.
Then be prepared to grind hundreds of hours.

Again, you seem to confused 'buff/nerf to AGI' with 'buff/nerf to Light armor' ... But this is false. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

For the hath perk, IA 3 is useful for melee, especially for lazy player like me. Mage may only need IA 2. I haven't play as mage in this patch (0.76), so I cannot be sure. 25% Hp boost is very good as it reduce the chance of sudden death. 25%Mp is also nice, but 500 hath (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) . 50% regeneration is not worth it IMO, as least for your level. 25% spirit boost is a very bad choice. I do not know how much hath do you have. Assume you have 2000, I would recommend IA 1/2, HP 25% boost. Then keep the rest. If you go for melee, IA 3 is also recommend. For equipment, I do not think you need to buy any from other at your level yet. Equipment from free shop (e.g: wolfgirl's free shop in WTS) could make you survive until level 200. buktore: maybe, but mage got nerfed to hell and burden(heavy melee) reduces both effects of AGI.

so in less than three days, I finally got to lv 80 from abusing the random encounter on high difficulties. the problem is, because it's a random encounter, my proficiencies (Dual Wielding and Light Armor, that is) ended up lower than what I think it should be at. have I make a mistake in spamming random encounter? should I now work on item world to increase my proficiencies? thanks in advance for the answers

for a melee setup, you do not really have to make the effort to grind the weapon and armor prof. the prof will increase relatively quickly as you play.

(IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) No other set-up has agility as high as full shade (if you don't have high agility with shade then your gear sucks). Also the way Tenboro set it up so that burden over 40 reduces the speed boost makes it seem like he meant it as a buff to light armor. Also, does leather drop with wisdom and intelligence still? Looking through my inventory I haven't seen one with either of those PABs post patch. Also when I dropped a legendary it only had the four main melee PABs. If so it will really help, so many PAB rolls on light armor get fucked because of wisdom and intelligence. Still, I might be wrong, need to do more research.

Yep, looking through the equipment thread even legendary shade only drops with the four main melee PABs. I have seen too many equip pieces for it to be a coincidence. It seems int and wis no longer roll on light armor (thank god).

Good question. I got a Magnificient Leather recently, which has all 4 melee PABs.
