QUOTE(Lement @ May 27 2013, 13:07) Coma: I personally played for 5 minutes as dark mage with over 100 forges on my staff, then shrined all my trophies on light/2h and changed builds. It has been buffed since then a bit, but I'm pretty sure I must be higher level at the moment - not only do the spells have higher CD the lower you are, the range limit is even more annoying/crippling. The speed is slowed down by a LOT.
Curious how your clear speed as melee now compares to mage pre-patch. Also if you try mage again, how that compares as well.

Good mages I barely noticed.
FTFY. Remember, you're in the level range where the MMI formula change actually mattered, especially against high end mobs. Initially it was pretty much just bullshit with CDs on even T1 and 1 turn Spark, with only the mob damage nerf keeping it at all sane. Sure, you could do IWBTH, but at a bloody snail's pace. Now that Spark lasts a bit longer, T1 CD is gone and damage has been adjusted upwards it's not bad anymore, but it says a lot that the initial form of this patch was bad enough that it almost made me drop maging entirely. Arxdewn: since my melee equips kind of sucks compared to loaned ones and I suffer from throttling, still several times worse than mage pre-patch, but without throttling estimates reveal I could get 30% faster than mage judging from melees I've talked to pre-patch.
Since the throttling doesn't affect me that badly(though still does noticeably), though, I think I can still get up to near mage speed on bt or sth with practice probably once I have forged a bunch and have good offensive armor - the damage alone would increase my speed by 50% compared to this 4 leather nonforged estoc thing.
But hey, I have better defenses, better speed atm(though this one would maybe change for mage if I had practice with the new stuff, newly buffed), lesser mana/spirit usage, less mental working and attention required.

Just curious: What's your current PMI/MMI? I'm not covered in legendary gear y'know.

Superior potion will be removed from the game soon*, that is the only difference. *= no idea when.

Since I can't for the life of me find any decent ethereal estocs in WTS atm, question. If I wanted to buy an ethereal estoc with similar or slightly better stats than this one http://hentaiverse.org/pages/showequip.php...;key=8062ae216e, about what ballpark would I have to expect the price to be in? On that note, WTS has kind of gone to hell, hasn't it. This post has been edited by Thot: May 28 2013, 05:45

On that note, WTS has kind of gone to hell, hasn't it. Wouldn't it be anywhere from 400,000 to 4 Million? I mean, Eth Estocs with only 2 PABs were being listed in the 120,000 range. Also the linked Estoc has nice damage, so a corresponding Eth Estoc would cost even more. However maybe you could get lucky in an auction? Also, wasn't the WTS in hell before? Finally, there are some topics about buying Eth ests in the WTB forum. This post has been edited by ncoll: May 28 2013, 07:37

Haven't been playing for some months, came back after patch, and saw the hath / mage bindings prices plunge from what i use to see. I would have said 600 - 700k is a good range for exq eth estoc, but not sure now with all the post-patch deflation / variables.

Damn... The game sure has become very confusing! (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif) Q: Are there anything I should know about how the new melee skill mechanic work? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) Here's some of the change that I've noticed so far— not quite sure if this is actually true or not. Feel free to correct and enlighten me (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) : - Proc from skills are now added AFTER your attacks actually hit (like in normal attack) ... This reduced the potency of... a certain few fighting/playing style by a lot; no more nukes for you! (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) - Normal skills range seems to be maxed at 5, and all enemies for Tenboro hate cannon and FUS ROH DAH(?) - The amount of OC doesn't seem to have any effect on the damage - Skills can crit - People say skills can miss though I haven't seen this yet, so dunno... Anything else? This post has been edited by buktore: May 28 2013, 12:16

QUOTE(buktore @ May 27 2013, 23:57) - Skills can crit
Very important to have high crit now for skills. If my backstab/frenzied doesn't crit I do shit for damage. At least I have light armor/shadowdancer which still keeps my crit over 50%. If I was dual-wielding with heavy I would probably put some balance pieces in the mix for schoolgirl marathons. I know shortly after the patch I had great cleave parried a few times. I haven't noticed that I've been parried anytime recently though. Might of been a ninja patch. Although I don't do many skills with two-hand anyway so might be wrong. This post has been edited by T_Starrk: May 28 2013, 10:25

44.1% PMI 49% MMI 34.9% Evade 15.9% Parry 21.1% Resist I was actually referring to the mobs finally getting the new MMI formula, which made many of the mobs with high END/WIS lose a good chunk of MMI at higher levels (which of course is why Tenboro dramatically changed the EDB scaling. . .).

Yup. This meant that you actually gained damage, not lost it. lost less damage.

For Arena, I think 72% is enough. For IW, you may need 78% for Ex class equipment. FYI, I keep using absorb and I do not use SS/SoL in this patch. This post has been edited by Colman: May 28 2013, 15:54

I find 66.1 to be more than adequate for me in arena— I'm tempted to go even lower... (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif) ---- QUOTE(T_Starrk @ May 28 2013, 15:25) Although I don't do many skills with two-hand anyway so might be wrong.
What about DW skills, then? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)

QUOTE(buktore @ May 28 2013, 06:11) What about DW skills, then? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) Never been parried. But like I said, great cleave was parried a few times (the day of the patch iirc). I just tried the two-hand skills out extensively and it has definitely been patched, imo, it can no longer be parried I think. This post has been edited by T_Starrk: May 28 2013, 16:24
