More like making a new one than update the old one. 2h fumbling around and I already die twice, in IWBTH RE (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) ...smt that didnt happen to me more than once per month back in the old days. btw is there any change in how parry/evade is calculated?

so what is the best aid to increase experience points right now? the experience ability tanks are all gone, training is so expensive when I can't use ability points to trade for those exp tanks.

I'd like to know the answer to this too, but I'm guessing the only options are training Adapt Learner and the expensive experience hath perks.

So for those of use who were pure mages spamming holy/dark AoE spells on random mobs, is it still possible to be a pure mage after this recent update? If so, what skills/abilities do we need to have to survive, cause the cool down effects are killing me.

I probably repeated myself several times now but I never mentioned what fighting style I was using.
so I am a ethereal mace of balance user with some decent kevlars and shades
before patch, I needed to cast weaken to all the monsters, and then use haste, protect, sparks of life, and then maybe shadow veil and regen to barely get by in BATTLETOADS random encounters. and even then I need to cast heal every other round to get by.
I noticed that weaken and cure now have 3 cooldown turns and my overcharge bar also rises slower than before with no way to upgrade it.
and right now I can't even fight normal random encounter without some serious problems.
my item slot also got reset, and to unlock them it will cost me a fortune.
what do I do now?

If I slot Soul Fire, will all holy spells have a chance to proc Soul Fire, or just a certain tier? And if I slot Ether Theft into the Drain Augment slot, casting Drain on something with Soul Fire will proc Ether Theft, right?
Also, how long does Ether Theft last, and how much MP is returned per tick -- is it based on base MP, like Ether tap?
I guess the same questions can be asked for Ripened Soul and Spirit Theft.

Well, if you read this change or not, I'm not sure, QUOTE(Tenboro @ May 19 2013, 13:46)  Some tweaks to the mage stuff after crunching some real numbers:
- Cooldown on T1 spells was removed.
- Base cooldown on T2 reduced to 4 turns.
- Max ability reduction for T2 reduced to 2 turns.
- Max ability reduction for T3 reduced to 4 turns.
- Increased damage for T2 (+12.5%) and T3 (+20%).
Note that if you have slotted any abilities that affect any offensive spells, you have to reslot a random ability to make it rebuild your applied effects.
I have no advice for higher difficulties at this time, haven't played much of them. If high difficulties are impossible as mage, adjustments will likely be made, I think. All spells of the correct type will proc it, and yes that's correct. It lasts two or three turns(when drain is cast, then two moves after) , and returns for me odd numbers, I have gotten from 4 to 27 per turn, I believe. Not sure how that works. which style should a very slow connection player to choose now? does dark is still the option or holy/elementist is better, or AFK has became the sanity choice now?

I'm totally confused. I restored my Equip but, I don't know what to do with my AP/MP slots. I have 265 Ability Points and 22 Mastery Points and haven't used any. Level 212, 3.3 million Credits, and 2784 Hath.
Before the patch, I slogged through Grindfest, IW, and lower Arenas as a Fire Mage using Elemental/Surtur Equipment with +47.6% Fire bonus and 363 Elem Prof. I basically Meteored everything to death. It was quite effective. For the early Schoolgirl Arenas, I traded my Staff for a heavy-bleed Katana, slogging through casting magic with a Katana, and then bleeding the Schoolgirl to death. My AutoCast slots are Protect and Shadow Veil. I have high Staff prof from whacking Meteor survivors to death.
Any suggestions on what to spend AP on and how many of each Mastery slot types to open?

Of the Flame, Frost, Shock and Storm Spike shields, what do they do as of 0.76; or are they still more like 0.75 versions, just added ontop of Protection?

Remember Mage has been nerfed quite a bit with all the cooldown feature (so no more spamming of magic) Anyway this is what I did - (btw I am (2h) melee) First concentrate on general section - HP/MP/SP/ etc Second Concentrate on Staff if you are a mage, weapons if you are melee Third concentrate on Cloth Armor if you are mage or light/heavy for melee Fourth concentrate on supportive and depreciating magic if you are melee (choose what spell are important to you only) If you are mage you have to spend more on divine/forbidden/elemental (whatever you prefer to use that is ) If you run out of AP just train some more. Lastly it is heavily recommended that you only concentrate on one style at the moment. Or else you will run out of both AP and (Very expensive) Mystery Points to activate all necessary slot.
