I think I inferred somewhere that he was going to re balance profs somehow. not get rid of them.

last time i salvage my axe ( lvl 1 slaughter , lvl 1 cri , lvl 1 bal ) , i just get 1 isaac (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/cry.gif)

Keep it past 0.76 though, since it might actually make Gossamer worth a bit more (kind of doubt it though, it'll be going from straight up damage to god only knows what, which means it no longer tries to do the same thing as Phase, just worse).

There's apparently a cloth armor rebalance on the way as well; not in the next patch, but in one of the ones after. Buying anything feels like such a gamble right now, and will feel as such even more once 0.76 lands and it turns out that we have to reconfigure our suits... Hi guys. I've just played HV for around 10 days and I think I'm kinda rushing it and made some mistakes.
There are some questions I want to ask :

1. Is proficiency really important ?
Since they aren't really boost your stats, and from what I can see, the most important proficieny is the weapon proficiency to unlock the second/third tier of the skill. (I'm a heavy melee dualwielder and only have around 50 for dualwielding and around 30 for heavy armor)

2. What are the best items to take with 7 item slots for clearing arena ?
I currently take 5 health pots and 2 mana pots (both godly)

3. What are the best kind of equips to wear?
a. Power equips. Higher damage and can kill enemies faster, but take more damage and not that good when against many monsters.
b. High mitigation equips, or
c. High endurance bonus equips? I'm currently wearing all equips with high endurance bonus.

1. Yes, but you do not have to pay too much attention to it right now, it will catch up naturally.
2. As above, try using cure it is usually more efficient than a hp potion but situations differ so... trial and error. (high levels usually only take mp/sp pots)

3. I would suggest plates to newcomers. Plates of protection with exq or higher quality preferred (high pmi and end). Power of protection requires a certain amount of end (pmi) from character stats to start being viable imo (higher levels I guess)

So I haven't been around in... a long time. Lets assume I just want to clear a few arenas a day at moderate difficulty, what is the preferred loadout now? I'm currently using what used to be a pretty solid but now seems to be meh Fenrir set and spamming ragnarok. I can clear Trio on hard with no problem but I should probably be able to do better than that at my level from what I've been reading.

I have a small amount of credits I can toss at new equip, ~400k, but that doesn't seem like it will get me very far anymore. What budget items should I look out for to improve my clear speed and / or difficulty?

Mmm patch is coming soon supposedly. Lots of talk been going on in the last patch's thread.

But if you still want to go through with changes...

Get a new staff (kata staves are way more common now). If you want something for immediate impact I'd say get a Kata of Focus with 20%+ Mana conserv. A non focus kata with economizer lvl5 is better but takes longer to get

Your set overall can probably do with upgrading but most notable would be the hat and shoes.

You can consider switching to melee. Both are very viable options to you right now, really.

nowadays, some player use a heavy melee with DW or 2H. but for me, mage style is good enough.

maybe try get some gear that better than now(some exquisite maybe).

Mmmm your gear is decent enough to "clear a few arenas a day at moderate difficulty" by now. I'd say you should be able to comfortably do heroic/hell difficulty. Until you get some mana conservation I wouldn't suggest much higher. The biggest drawback about Dark is the mana cost IMO. Hence why I'd say mana conserv helps you a TON. Also remember to cycle between holy/dark. It's much better than going pure Dark most of the time.

Once you get about 20%+ mana conserv on a staff you should be able to handle hell-nintendo comfortably at your level.

edit: of course when I say cycle I mean if there are any survivors, follow up with holy is generally a good set up if they have lots of life left (so that you can blast them to oblivion with dark the turn after)

Hey, Marcho's back!

I wouldn't use that staff personally. Even if it does have a great MC roll, it's still 1 PAB Fine Willow. Take a quick look through WTS, there should be some cheap Willoq or Katalox Focus staves running around (and perhaps some cheap Fenrir upgrades too). As you've noted, decent Phase is far more prevalent now. The Exquisite Willow is a lot better, but I'd keep looking around a bit.

For example, you should be able to get this fairly cheap (as it's vanilla Superior Katalox), and it won't screw your damage as hard as the Fine (you'll lose about 180-190 MDB, but the increase in Prof and Dark EDB should offset most of that).

Wouldn't sink too much into stuff right this moment, since there's a giant patch with an ETA of SOON™.

Yeah i'm looking into cheap fixes :/ i havent played in over a year I think, aside from some random low level arenas every so often. I'm reading through the patch notes but I'm having a hard time gauging the actual work of the new stats and equipment now.

you need to change your equip ........

use rapier for your offhand weaon if you want play at high difficulty (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

if you want to use DW with light , use full shade setup ( fleet or SD ) (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

use ethereal club for better damage , your weapon lack of power (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

Oh and also how do I get credits "fast" or efficient (without H@H or selling hath)?

Because Arena gives "as much" and grinding crystals mostly takes forever (Mostly after like the 10th round it starts to drop and even then I've used up like 2-3 godly mana potions) and can only run about 50-70 rounds on normal.
