QUOTE(Malenk @ May 3 2013, 20:43) but willow is just garbage. a decent katalox is better than a legendary demonic willow of destruction any time of the day. the anti-resist doesn't cut it.
I have never tried Willow staff w/ counter-resist; ~10% c-resist is max, right? And it still doesn't help against the high resist monsters?

QUOTE(Malenk @ May 3 2013, 06:43) well, of course an elemental mage has to use a redwood staff so they are not useless, even if with so few elemental mages out there only the very best ones have a market. oak has a few uses too. but willow is just garbage. a decent katalox is better than a legendary demonic willow of destruction any time of the day. the anti-resist doesn't cut it.
Katalox only beats Willow at equal quality. I'll take that Leg Demonic Willow and beat most Exquisite Katalox all around the block with it. Willow got a serious MDB upgrade in the patch that gave it CR. The CR is a joke. The MDB is not. I've seen unforged Willow with 40 38 base MDB, and the Dark EDB is on par with a non-prefix Fenrir Katalox. I just wish I could remember where I saw that Leg Willow of Destruction linked.Edit: found it. Legendary Tempestuous Willow Staff of Destruction I must have been using an outdated base values script when I first saw that, could swear I remember it being 40 MDB. Yes, 10% (Leg might hit 11%). But it's a 10% chance to ignore a successful resist. This means that in practice, full Chaos resist goes from 20% to 18%. This post has been edited by PK678353: May 3 2013, 13:58

then i guess the ranges page on the wiki is not updated. but the chance of counter resist is there so i don't know what to think... according to the wiki the legendary max MDB roll of a willow of destruction is 36.77 which is lower than the base max roll of a katalox (37.38), not even exquisite. QUOTE(PK678353 @ May 3 2013, 04:25) I figured your Legendary Tempestuous Ebony of Destruction would be better than the Redwoods, but I don't think I've ever actually seen it linked. LMax MDB for Redwood appears to be 39.77. I've picked up an LMax-1 one, and it's looking like it'll be about on par with the Arctic Niflheim staff I have for coldscore (squeaking out a win by a few percent).
My ebony staff is better based on MDM alone because the base started at 41 or something; yeah. But the EDB isn't close to max, which is the problem. It was around 4.8-5.0 initially, but at the time that I bought it, that didn't really bother me much because prefixes were new and the max for prefix-EDB wasn't known yet, and the EDB was already significantly higher than what was possible before. I could be off, but I suspect that if I can sacrifice a few points of MDM by going with a 39.xx base redwood that has 7.00 or better EDB, then the staff will be better overall. And if it breaks even with my ebony, then at least the ET chance will be higher. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) But on the other hand, I already started forging my ebony so starting over might not be worth the effort.

I dunno, we'll have to do all new math in a couple of weeks post Mage Patch anyway. Given your Phase, I think the effect of another 2 base EDB might be a bit diluted (though it should still be larger than the effect of 2 MDB). Yeah, wiki's off on that. Krororo has a 38.25 base MDB Leg Tempestuous Willow Destruction (linked in an edit of the last post I made), so it's at least that high, and it's a better Dark stick than it is a Wind stick. Good Willow is actually decent now. This post has been edited by PK678353: May 3 2013, 14:10

C-resist then really does seem useless, especially at IWTBH. I'm guessing to be a successful mage at IWTBH, you need Charged Mag/Leg gear that has max rolls, with max rolls of Leg staff of Kat, forged to the tilt? What else would you need? I remember reading that the new patch will reduce the mits of monsters from 95% to 80%? And that magic damage will be increased.. Something like that.

I think ChosenUno does a crapload of mage IWBTH. And yes, he's using Mag/Leg Heimdall Phase, a mean Heaven-Sent Katalox staff, and enough forge materials to buy his suit all over again. Mage Patch will change mobs from the current MMI formula to the same one players use. At the same time, Prof will stop giving damage and give something else. Only Tenboro knows what that something else is. EDB scaling is to be adjusted based on expected damage deltas given the previous two changes (more EDB <350, less EDB > 350) in an attempt to keep our damage after mitigations something close to unchanged.

you ask someone else to bid in your place. btw i think it's a very shady thing if the auctioneer is proxy bidding for someone else as you can't know if he is doing it legit or he is trying to push prices up.

Mostly on ability points. Melees use most of their AP on OC while mages use most of their AP on spells. At higher levels it will be a lesser problem, but this would be quite a bit of problem at your level. 2. http://ehwiki.org/wiki/Toplists

At the beginning you might lack needed proficiencies what hurts quite a bit. You can change you stats up to 10 points every 24h, so over time you can adjust stats to your new style. The rest is up to your gear. As for skills the only difference for me is using Heartseeker instead of Arcane Focus, but you don't have access to these spells yet. 2. If you mean banner contest, check out the proper thread to learn more. As for yearly thingies, the main requirement is to be a no-life dedicated to spend all their free time on tagging/cleaning galleries or be wealthy and have a nice connection to un H@H or buy doujinshi, scan them and upload for points to reach a place in top 7 ( I believe most of the stuff uploaded here comes from p2p or Chinese forums, but it may be just me). QUOTE(ahenayau @ May 3 2013, 16:56) @wega most of elemental mages change into holy / dark mages (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) it's hard to find high LvL ( 300+ ) mages that use elemental magic (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) ( maybe just 1% that still use elemental like n125 & hito ) But in the end , it is up to you to decide (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Wouldn't I be forced to grind proficiency, though? Also to get gear similar to my current gear, I'd need around 1 mil probably, no?

Installing the latest version (the one linked on the scripts page of the wiki) on Firefox gives me 40~, but on Chrome (which is supposed to have an older version installed) I get 38~ (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

There are no other means to gain GP from torrents. " i don't owned a gallery. but if i just download the gallery and seeding it, will i get the point to get the reward? thanks

it seems pretty plain to me, but i have the suspicion that you are not so good with english... the answer is no. if you want to earh GPs you have to be the uploader of the torrent or the owner of the gallery, better if you are both at the same time. just downloading a torrent and seeding it won't earn you anything. but you should still seed the torrents you download for a while.
