WIS grants melees pretty much only mana, same for INT, expect it grants 1/3 of WIS mana.
When I was light long time ago I actually kept WIS=STR due mana problems.INT should always be near 1/3 the cost of WIS.

hujan86 > For melee, my stats goes as following :
STR : everything left, DEX : lvl, AGI : -50 END : +10 INT : -50 WIS : lvl.
I moved down AGI recently due to the patch, we'll see how it works. But previously I was with AGI at lvl.

So much how much is your STR compared to your level now? AGI still affects Evade though. Isn't Evade important? This post has been edited by hujan86: Mar 11 2013, 07:47

+52 currently.
Yes, Evade is important, but Shadow Veil doesn't really care about that. Still, it's only a test, I'll adjust accordingly.

It depends. For light armor/cloth set, AGI is still important. However, burden from heavy armor will just destroy any evade you get from AGI. So if you're using heavy armor, AGI gives even less benefit than DEX (though keeping that to about 80% of your level still won't hurt)

What is a fast, easy way to grind DW prof? (and light armor prof?)

Once you hit my level, there's schoolgirl marathons for grinding fighting style prof (I'm using them to start jacking my Holy/Dark profs). Particularly good since DW is the preferred melee style for the marathons anyway.
Until then, there's always IWBTH Crude IW. Boring, pretty much zero non-prof rewards, but you'll have plenty of HP to beat on and take plenty of hits in the process for armor prof. I occasionally do 10 rounds IWBTH Crude and just hit things with a Staff for the prof (capped at 10 rounds for my sanity more than anything else). 25 rounds should net you decent prof. If you're rich, consider Assimilator (I picked up 3 ranks when I was able to run H@H).

Deliberately grinding proficiencies in IW or whatever sucks. So if it isn't urgent, just wear DW and light gear for some of your regular activities, like random encounters, FSM, and the first page of arenas. Your proficiencies will shoot up really quickly and they'll be at comfortable levels within a week or two. I managed to get my two-handed and heavy proficiencies up to about 250 in less than two weeks just by doing random encounters and the first 10 arenas on IWBTH every day.

Ok, thanks.
One more question for the week: Heavy + DW or Light + DW?

I would prefer power (heavy) DW for higher damage.

Heavy gives higher damage and in general kills faster than shade if you use power armor, but shade is still superior for dual-wield, imo. I get way more survivability out of shade/dw than I do heavy/dw (although I admit your evade has to be rather high for this, at least over 50% like mine). Also my mana cost is way lower and my crit is over 10% higher with shade (which helps proc PA faster). I've tried both extensively, and I have a much easier time on IWBTH level with shade than I do heavy. With ring of blood the advantage goes to heavy armor cause it's all about kill speed and defense is a non-issue (at least for me).
It also depends on weapon choice too. With an axe you should probably go for heavy, but if you use an axe you probably want to use a piece of plate or two for the PMI which will hurt your damage. Shade needs a club, no exceptions, imo. Club has less base WD than axe in general but you can go full shade with it and keep your damage high (especially if you have a forged slaughter club).

I just want to confirm something. As a mage, you can't get rid of the absorbing wards on trio and the tree without killingyggdrasill first right? I tried silencing yggdrasill once to no effect. I hope I haven't been doing it all wrong all this time. Also is Hell probably the best I can do Trio on around my level(259) as a mage? I saw a few posts about others doing it on IWTBH, but those were melee. Magic score is 16.6k as a holy mage.

Yes, silence only stops its special (which is a massive healing effect on Trio). Absorbing ward's on whenever the tree's alive.

Yea, I don't have any forges. My weapon is 344 rounds magnificient, so I think I would only barely make it on normal. Keep in mind that I quit HV like a year and a half ago and came back maybe 3-4 weeks ago. But still, I've spent at least 100k on each piece of gear equipped. I've been thinking about building a shade/dw set soon. My stats are as follows(including gear and everything): 2044.5 MDB, 37.6% crit chance, 156.8% M.Acc, 276.75 Holy Prof, 187.65% Holy EDB. I'll grab a screenshot of my stats after this schoolgirls marathon.
Are any of my stats particularly low?[attachembed=23727]
