Hello

Got a question regarding equipments for heavy melee. Since this patch made heavy melee nerf alot I was wondering which set is better (atleast make things a bit easier clearing the arenas/gf etc fast) on higher difficulties. I am confused between full power of protection set and full power of slaughter set. Which will be the best in your opinion ? Since I don't have millions of credits lying around I don't want to waste them on stuffs which will not benefit me in a lot run.

Also is it true that DW clear arenas more faster than 2H ?

Thanks for any kind of help and advice ^^

From my experience playing DW ( already 100 + proficiencies ) and 2H, 2H is much faster since it has domino strike. ( esp. Niten style )

For clearing mobs in normal Arena I prefer 2H, but for One by One ( Blood Arena ) I prefer Niten/DW.

For clearing IWBTH though I prefer one-hand with shield for max survivability

Is it worth to put some AP in Overcharge Boost as a dark mage ? I'm going to max my spirit tank and I wonder on what I should focus next. Maybe resistances ?

maxed exp tanks?

maxed every other offensive, deprecating, and supportive spell?

if so then just go for OC tanks.

all those resistances are for when you have nothing else to put your AP into...

edit: lol... forgot that i came here to ask a question...

my staff is currently giving me 24.61% magic accuracy.

my total magic accuracy is currently 165.2%.

so how much magic accuracy will i get if i shard it with Suffused Aether?

and does having 200% magic accuracy means that no monsters will be able to resist/evade my magic attacks?

having 200% magic accuracy means that no monsters will be able to resist/evade my magic attacks, they can still resist

Not sure, would need to try it. But I would assume that it would add 50% and you would hit the cap of 200%, iirc.

That would give you 100% anti-evade, but it wouldn't affect resist at all.

Does the "Postage Paid" Hath Perk eliminate the 1,000c fee from when I send a CoD?

hmm... ever since 0.74 whatever my channeling procs, it is always either 4 turns or 5 turns, whereas before then the number of turns is fixed.

totally screw up my channeling alert in HV stats.

so is this issue a bug? intentional? or is it just me?

It is the effect of decoupling time per turn from buff durations. Try switching out/in Haste.

Consequence of the decoupling of player turns and effect durations.

It also means effect durations last much longer. So it's pretty much awesome to me. I can now activate frenzied blows with 270-280 OC and my mana consumption has gone way down.

It's not a bug, it's the way it's intended to be, so there's nothing really to "fix".

What is the best setting and Style to farm Crystals now. Judged on a Crystals per hour rate.
Once I have enough Tokens for my Princess I will probably screw Arenas and go for Crystals.

AFAIK this patch pretty much trashes plate and non-ethereal 2H. Haven't heard complaint about gears from the light user and mage.

Everyone basically becomes squishier, and clears faster. Regen becomes much less useful, but buffs last much longer. Heavy is nerfed the hardest with plate set becoming unusable. Light has a bit of problem with speed, but now has no problem after haste is buffed up. Mage seems to do fine, but it will get hit more often.

The good new is that Eila is less dangerous now, that is, if I ever met her (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Really? I clear random encounters on IWBTH with full plate, and I sometimes I don't even need to use a potion. That super-high mitigation is really important, since it helps soften the blows of those monsters that damage you for half your health in one hit.

Of course, maybe my level has something to do with it.

---

I'm wondering how I should balance magical and physical mitigation. My goal is to prevent monsters on super-high difficulties from taking off more than half my hit points in one attack. Magical seems harder to get, so I got warding so far on all my armor. Bad idea?

Only Sprites and Elementals use magical attacks as specials among user-created monsters. Furthermore, even if every monster used magical attacks nifty little spell called Absorb would render most of the effort to mitigate them null.
Magical Mitigation therefore is dump stat that is paid pretty much no mind.

Thank you! I couldn't figure out why the wiki was not recommending Warding, and somehow I missed that part. But it "cannot absorb critical hits". Does that mean that not having magical mitigation exposes you to the risk of dying from an unlucky critical?

No, not really. You are far more likely to die to unlucky critical/chained skills that are melee in nature. Against both types of damage things like SP Shield and Spark of Life offer excellent defense.
