@HNTI: Newsflash: Good stuff is valuable.Because those perks are so good and because hath is far harder to come by than credits hath prices go up(used to be 2k in long past). And tbh the whole crystarium tree costs "only" 1750 hath, or 26 250 000 C at 15k per hath, which is less than the value of 1 piece of forged equipment for those that put in the effort for end-game equips.
How to get that much money? Grind. A lot. And quickly. Monster armies help, too, but those perks come usually before one has aforementioned armies.

I grind, but it became pain in the ass since RiddleMaster and the whole stamina system were introduced >_<. Energy drinks drop is very irregular :/. 2k per hath is maybe too low price, but I remember times when they were valued for 6-7k. 26 mln is out of my reach for now as I struggle to save mere 1.85 mln to train next level of archeologist. To have that 1 peace of end-game equipment you probably need a lot of credits to be put in (read -> an investment with a high rate of income).
@Monsters : But to have a high level monsters you need crystals to upgrade them and it again comes down to credits. Without crystal perks, I only own 1 232 lvl monster and the remaining 6 are below 100 lvl which doesn't give me high chances to earn big money on them.
I try to earn a penny with selling trophies from FSM, but token droprate makes this way of earning credits quite random.
Is the only way to get Crystallized Phazon is salvaging Phase items or it's a random rare drop from high quality gear ?

People first get crystarium 3, then considerable monster army for that reason. Read this: [ pastebin.com] PLs - though more realistically one gets ~equal amounts of elemental and stat crystals. ~1400k with roughly equal distribution costs 19.6 mil at 21/7c per crystal, nets you something around PL 860 and takes 46.6 hours to create at 30k crystals per hour(effort needed seems to roughly double with every 100 levels so extrapolate how much one must grind even at best speeds to create, say, 11 monsters 950-1100 in the space of 4-5 months). Well, don't despair from just that, you can still create tons of low level monsters - I have pretty similar situation, though my highest is a bit higher - but I have 28 lowbies. Phazons are from monsters, they're rare bindings. EDIT: Quick note, I don't think HTTP grinds that fast as he does gf mainly for the equips, not crystals. Ok I'm just going to ask something very slowly. Someone - anyone - can get 30k crystals/ hour?(except from HTTP)

Back in the day, you could. With CF, I mean. I suppose even now, you could. Full crystarium, full scavenger, minimum arch and quartermaster. On iWBTH, even the very early GF rounds will drop you 4 crystals per mob (if crystals drop), and you have another crystal drop chance. Do about 500 rounds, you only need an average of 60 crystals per round. Not entirely impossible, I would guess. Not that this is anything but sheer speculation.

Mages with near-ideal setup on normal can. Also, don't brother leaving quartermaster/arch unleveled, as equips represent a gain unless you have chaos token value pretty high and second won't affect crystals/hour. Melee is something to the range of 20k at high dif I think?[4everlost] They'll get high-diff equips now to boot, so balance has shifted in gf towards equip farmers/melees.
Difficulty has risen a bit, but not earth-shatteringly so.

QUOTE(holy_demon @ Feb 28 2013, 03:11) I just finished End of Days on Heroic with 4/5 power and ethereal estoc, and it took me freaking 45 minutes. Is that normal at my level? Or was I doing something wrong. Some 3xx people here do it on IWBTH in less than 15 mins (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/cry.gif) Just did iwbth beyond the clouds in 45 minutes, if you want faster kill speed use DW until the 280 arena.

So I want to hear some mages opinions, what's better? Frugal or Charged? Would you rather have mana conservation or casting speed?

Damage is not high enough to make me want charged YMMV but you never know when a patch is waiting to screw you. This post has been edited by danixxx: Feb 28 2013, 22:38

Charged. You can always ET or chug a potion but being fast is extremely limited.

The second I read the patch notes I wanted a frugal set, pretty bad too. I search WTS a few times a day in fact looking for some I want. Charged is looking pretty good too though given the speed changes. This post has been edited by vash50000000: Mar 1 2013, 04:17

Heyas folks, I guess I'm bringing up a slightly dumb question and the age old question of quality vs quantity here, and maybe some odds and ends I've run across. For starters, I (finally) got around to taking FSM on IWBTH successfully (previous time was when I didn't have as many levels or my legendary mace). With the mace/shade armor setup it took me about 1300 rounds, and the sad part was I didn't take a lot of damage in the process. So for starters, with a mace/shade setup, about how many rounds should it take to take him out at that level? Secondly, spirit points. Obviously with Spirit mode on you do more damage and spells become cheaper to cast, but in conjunction with spirit shield, it becomes a wall that asorbs a potentially lethal shot. I suppose it depends on how you like to play. I myself when I use the mace setup and an overdrive of 180%, it's exactly enough to trigger spirit mode and all 3 skills 1 after another in a blitz attack, doing close to 100k damage to 1 monster, about 50k to the rest, and whatever is still alive is stunned for a quick finish, at the cost of 4 spirit points and an empty overdrive meter. Opinions? And if my math is right, you could do the same thing with 2H, but I think overdrive has to be up to 205%. Next Quality vs Quantity. It's kinda came up with the last patch update (based on how people play), and to me how you decide to play is up to you. But with the stamina setup here, I got to thinking. I myself usually play on BT and go arena hunting, usually starting at the beginning and can usually get to Dreamfall or Exile before my stamina drops to 79 (what can I say I like the bonuses), although I know some people prefer grindfest or arenas on lower settings. On higher settings, I'm guessing you get better odds for equipment, more exp/battle, more credits/battle, and a higher amount of crystal drops when a monster gives them but I'm also guessing your stamina drops more in terms of battles fought, where lower settings would give you lesser amounts of crystals, exp, and credits, and probably drops chances on better equipment (not sure how artifacts play into all this), but with each round of battle going faster, you could end up making up for the lost ground in those areas (except equipment I suppose). Thoughts/Opinions? As for yours truly, I like the idea of getting my ass kicked in this game, as long as I learn something from it. For those around in the Super NES and PSOne days, there were 2 games I enjoyed called The 7th Saga and Final Fantasy Tactics. Those two games usually threw you into a battle in which you were out manned, out gunned and in the case of FFT, usually starting in the worse location possible, and still find a way to win. So this game and its changes with the patches don't bug me too much. Getting back to the game itself, at Level 250 I think unlocks the last tier in the abilities, so besides getting the hp/mp/sp tanks and the focused aura, are magnet and lifestream worth an ability point? Also, opinions on sending ability points into the elemental resistances? I'm sure I had something else, but I've rambled enough for now. More mobs = more exp & credits (in arenas + REs). The exp modifier does skew things towards the top end for that, however. Artifacts aren't affected by difficulty afaik.
IIRC, just looking at mob:rounds, top 7 from highest to lowest goes something like To Kill a God, DwD, Trio, Dreamfall, Exile, Feast, New Wings. Keep in mind DwD has 150 schoolgirls to wade through though, so adding in time to complete would shunt it to lower down the list.

1. My Red, Orange, Yellow & Green Aura is maxed at Rank 3. I gained 1 Aura Point just now but another Focused Aura won't be unlocked until I reach Level 160. Should I save the point for later or should I use it to upgrade either my Blue or Violet Aura which are still at Rank 1?
2. Nerf & Regen II - worth investing?

If you're going melee, try to focus mainly on the fourth first. You'll end up maxing them all at some point anyway.
Nerf no, Regen II yes by all means.

Considering that this Fair leather gauntlets of the frost-born is the only drop I got from Power Flux on IWBTH, I am inclined to agree with that.
