Ok, so I started this game a few days ago and I am at a point where I would like to know how best to go from here before I waste alot of time. I am currently level 24 and I want to be the type of character that can last for many many rounds, and kill enemies quickly without much planning. I currently have two 7k one handed swords from the shop (I also just found out from the forums that we can buy/sell/(receive?) items/equipment from other players. Mind also explaining how to do so please?)
My original strategy was to spam the multiple target fire spell over and over til I ran out of MP. My current strategy is to use my 2 one hand swords to get as quick kills as possible and use the multiple fire spell sometimes sometimes at the start to weaken enemies to kill in one hit, or to try and kill multiple monsters weak to water.
I have a random assortment of junk armor I have picked up and my stats are as follows:
Str = 20
Dex = 20
Agil = 20
Endurance = 27
Int = 19
Wis = 19
With this last level, I have been noticing the rate at which I kill monsters with my one handers slowing down, so I figured out this was a good time to learn the game properly.
Any recommendations on how I should proceed in the immediate and prolonged future in order to crush the monsters the most effectively? and what armors should I buy for it? (considering I currently have 10k stored up)
Thanks
I'd suggest you to level up as fast as possible, to take advantage of all those arena first clear bonus.
To level fast, try to do hourly encounter at the highest difficulty you can manage, as much as possible. And the best way to to survive hourly encounter at high difficulty, especially in your case without much supportive spells, is to wear plate armors (preferably plate of protection). They drop aplenty, they are pretty affordable with a wide range of prices, and they are still useful even in higher levels.
Any 2H weapons will do, maces if you think you can finish everything in 4 turns (most likely not), estoc if you want to faceroll everything after 3 turns (well it used to be 1 turn :cry ), or scythe if you want "true" unmitigated damage over time.
There's a niche for 1H and DW, but don't bother with them until you start to do schoolgirl marathon arenas, which are available after level 220 (I still haven't bothered with them fyi (IMG:[

You can think about committing to melee, or switching to magic at level 150, once you got your first dark spell. Everyone does at that level.
