I've been wondering how to get decent gears at my level. My best gear is a Fine Shade Helmet of the Fleet. Oh and i'm i not suppose to get credits for grindfest?

Got two questions for y'all. Firstly, what should I train in with the refund from Refined Aura? (Assuming we get a refund.) Would it be better to train my drop-related stuff, or get Assimilator 4? Right now I have Scavenger at 21, LotD at 8, QM at 6, and Arch at 3. Assimilator is at 3 right now.
Secondly, I'm curious about the FSM. My char is a 2-hand light armor fighter, but I've been working on my dual-wield proficiency as well lately. What level should I be before I take him on? Would it be better to keep training dual-wield to deal with him, or should I stick with what I'm already good at? And what level do you have to be to get good gear with his drop?

Duel-Wield with a high PA turn rapier and club will be faster than 2H, even if you have 0 prof in it as long as weapons are decent. Normal should be easy now that you have spirit shield, not sure about IWBTH yet but it should be do-able. Don't train assimilator, profs will catch up and it's not that relevant anyways. Go for more adept learner/ability boost or loot bonuses.

Well, can't clear arenas on Battletoads anymore.

Same here - I gotta stick to hell mode for the time being for arenas. On a turn where I was renewing buffs I just got blasted.

Heavy/Estoc here as well and I can't say I see the fuss. It'll hurt my grindfest limit, granted, but otherwise I'm only being slowed down a bit, both on BT and IWBTH.
Even 'slowed down' it's still fast and reliable, and easily outpacing my other options. In my opinion it's still easily the best high level melee build post-update.
Sure, some things suck (e.g. shard nerfing hurt my standard strategy a bunch), but nearly all builds took a hit. Better to adapt and get on with it than try to compete on who the biggest victim is.

Does the number of credits won from random encounters scale according to player level & difficulty?

Not directly from player level, no. Difficulty, yes to some degree (there is a credit multiplier to each level, but it doesn't scale as highly as the EXP multiplier).

Can't even reliably do Battletoads trio anymore, with mace it's much slower and with plate I need to use all 13 potions. Maybe shade DW will be better, it's the only thing that remained relatively even after the patch.
Also, eight 501st spawns in eve of death, welcome back.

You're doing something wrong, then (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) Spend some haths to buy Innate Arcana. Don't be cheap.

Since it seems some addons broke with the patch, is the only way to see if gear is good to break out a calculator for all the stats while things are fixed (if they ever get fixed?)

Just did BT trio, too. I don't think it was much different than before regarding speed, can't say for sure though as it was on great stamina, so probably a bit slower than before. Didn't need any mana pots, so that didn't change either. But the increased damage in is highly noticeable, took me 3/4th of my spirit to finish, that's the same or even more as it was IWBTH before the patch. Did a lower one on IWBTH after.. yea not gonna touch them anymore, wasn't exactly "fun" before the patch, now definitely not.

Difference is I don't have rainbow or IA. Just did To kill a god on battletoads with plate + power protection boots and it's 7 mana pots, up from 5, guess I was unlucky with that run. Yea, but my main point wasn't about the mana consumption (also I have an illithid estoc) but rather the damage taken. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)
