Started playing HV recently. To be honest its been exactly 2 weeks now since I am playing it. I fell like now its a good time to ask for some advice from experts in here.

I'm also unsure if I should switch from my mace to an estoc (specifically the ones I listed above). People here say the estoc does more damage, but 4 turns of stun buys me a lot of time to focus to regain mana. The mace is also does void damage.

Problem is that you're using a vanilla estoc of balance vs. ethereal mace of slaughter. Try to find an estoc of slaughter, preferably of superior+ quality, ethereal of with elemental prefix, and with good ADB and STR/DEX/AGI.

Is it still worth investing in Arcanist Shade? I'm just short a pair of boots to make a complete set.

No. Arcanist only lowers your interference, but the loss in evade is too much to compensate. Also, all of your arcanists are of old version (with DEX/AGI only). You should find some better ones with more PABs and evade (fleet or shadowdancer).

Is there any point in investing points on MP increase?

The MP costs of my spells always increase as my MP tank increases.

Stamina-wise, trio and the tree, to kill a god, feast for crows, dreamfall and exile are the best for credits.

History of Focus staves from what I remember (ie when I started)

Good for low levels, bad for high levels (this was back when 100% accuracy was possible through PABs alone and was a sought after ability. Hence low levels used it to hit 100% accuracy and High levels didn't need it due to their high PABs)
Bad for low levels, bad for high levels (100% accuracy removed by T because game was too easy)
Ok for low levels, good for high levels (mana conserv was added, and mag/leg became more accessible. forged was also added. this allowed for 100% accuracy again and was figured out by a few players who are very rich today)
Bad for low levels, bad for high levels (T added chaos upgrades. everything basically sucked at the time. bleed was best although most people were oblivious to that)
Ok for low levels, ok for high levels (monsters were rebalanced, mana conservation was very important since monsters still had resist but the accuracy bonus was no longer important thx to chaos upgrades and 200 accuracy was easily achievable due to aether shard. the monster buff was also removed for low levels so they were no longer getting roflstomped by random monsters)
Ok for low levels, ok for budget high levels (potencies came in. if you're poor, use a focus staff. beats having to amnesia a destruct and hope for lvl5 econ)

MP cost of spells is related to your level and the point you invest into a spell only.

But then most of the middle arenas have better monsters per round ratio. (starting from longest journey). Still I would say the additional EXP, a bit better loot roll, and the better legendary trophy should worth it.

depends on situation, you'll still cast it when the opponents roster are dangerous enough.

Switch to 2H, it's the best style atm. Estoc is the best in 2H. Also you can try Dual-Wielding, mainhand axe and offhand rapier is the best. Don't mix different types of armor (cloth, light, heavy) - you lose your proficiency bonuses. Pick one type and use it. I assume Heavy armor will work for you.
